There was some confusion when I arrived at 3pm as there was nobody to meet me. When I phoned I was told I was early but then Lenora met me on the porch, said it was her mistake and welcomed me inside. I was welcomed with delicious chocolate chip cookies and a cold water. Lenora and I spent some time talking, she told me the history of the house and gave me a tour. It was a Monday night and I was the only guest at the inn but when I asked about dinner I was told they couldn’t accommodate me. Lenora did give me a recommendation of a small restaurant a mile down the road so I took that as an opportunity to walk through the town on my way to dine. When I arrived back there were multiple cars parked outside so perhaps a dinner party had reserved the entire restaurant.
My room was clean and my bed was comfortable. Breakfast is a fixed menu and served at an appointed time (0800). Breakfast was very good and served on the porch. I asked if I could have an extra hour to check out and Lenora was able to accommodate my request which was appreciated. Lenora sent me off with a goodie bag of bottled water and snacks which was a nice touch.
I’m not a bicyclist so not sure if I would ever have occasion to return but the Inn is a great place to lay your head if passing through and the price was decent. I would consider staying here again if the situation presented itself.
If I could change one thing it would be the inn's restaurant dress code - I know many of the bikers would have enjoyed dining in the restaurant but can't afford the pannier space to pack more formal attire. Accommodating these clients would be fantastic!
