What a pleasant surprise to find Lenora's to welcome us after our first day's ride along the GAP trail. It's a bit of a climb to reach the inn but once you do you won't be disappointed. A beautiful wide porch setting offers comfortable seating to enjoy freshly baked cookies. The rooms a spacious, very clean and comfortable. The dinner and breakfast were both incredible - freshly prepared and beautifully served. Our only regret was we only were able to spend one night here!
Riding along on rented bicycles we had heard that a beautiful inn located not too far off the trail would be an ideal stop. It turned out to be our best stop. The hospitality here by Lenovo and staff are truly impeccable. The slightest details were all fulfilled. Incredible meals are prepared and served pretty much cooked to order. Vegan meals prepared too. Rooms are cozy and intimate. Ideal for weary travelers. Group stays welcome but please call ahead. Relaxing porch with a end ramp allows for evening conversation but also allows disabled access to inn. Very courteous !!!! Highly recommend.
Having started the first leg of our Pittsburgh to DC cycle tour, we arrived at Lenora’s tired, hot and slightly grazed after a mishap on the gravel. Lenora was waiting on the porch with cool water, watermelon and cookies- what a lovely welcome.
My wounds were also tended while Lenora told us about the inn and her family. We found that her grandmother came from the area of Ireland where we live - it’s a small world.
The inn started as a restaurant and the rooms came later. Beautifully maintained and furnished, our room was very comfortable with everything we needed.
We had not opted to dine at Lenora’s in the evening so checked out the other options. We found a nice family diner /restaurant within walking distance albeit a short walk along a busy roadside. Alternatively pizzas can be delivered to the inn.
Breakfast (served on the porch) was delicious and set us up for the day ahead. If the quality of the breakfast is an indicator of the evening meal then we missed something special. A lovely inn and one that we will remember fondly in the years ahead.
My wife booked this because we could not stay in West Newton along the GAP trail. Although this inn is a little bit off the trail, it was worth the trip.
Lenora and her husband are incredibly gracious and this was hands down one of the best breakfasts I have ever had biking the trail. Seriously, it was 2 courses! If you want to join in on the certainly fantastic dinner service, you have to dress accordingly.
Will definitely get out here for the dinner service. Well worth staying at on the trail.
Get the only negative out of the way first. It is not marked on the trail. It was my fault that I didn’t watch the mile marker, instead I was looking for a sign. When I knew we had gone to far, called the Inn and they answered immediately stated that you have to go back to the miler marker and look for a small parking, go through the lot and catch the road on the back side of the lot and go up the hill. She said that she would have watermelon, cookies and lemon ice water waiting for us on the porch. The watermelon went far to minimize the extra miles I made the group ride. The dinner was a little on the expensive side for us and you were suppose to dress for it, so we opted to have pizza delivered on the porch. The food smelled delicious and another guest stated it was really good. Breakfast was really great, stuffed French toast, glazed grapefruit and a sweet go bad to hit the road. The over all experience was great and the owner was delightful!!!
