My partner and I were looking for a getaway, from all that is going on in the world, including work which is very stressful for me. We wanted to visit Amish Country and Hershey, and located this property in the area. Wow, it is such a nice place! Very warm and inviting! Our hosts were gracious and hospitable, and the breakfasts they prepared for us each morning were scrumptious and delicious! We will definitely stay here again when we are next in the area.

We had a group of four adults and four kids for a Labor Day getaway and rented the entire Carriage Stop B&B, which enabled us to bring the kids without worrying about disturbing other guests (their normal policy only allows kids 12+, which is very reasonable for a B&B). We were a bit concerned driving up, as you are greeted, on both sides of the property, by GIANT Trump signs. It is was initially hard to tell if they are on the B&B property, but we quickly determined they were not. I guess you can't do anything about your neighbors! The House has a lot of history, traced back to earlier than the 1870's, when it served as a general store. Despite the age, the owners have maintained it meticulously. They have updates the bathrooms and some flooring, while ensuring the charm is not disturbed. I wouldn't classify the property as "luxury," it is definitely has a classic farmhouse feel, but it was very clean and thoughtfully appointed. There were nice touches like Fiji water in the rooms, quality toiletries, and soft bathrobes. The highlights of our visit were definitely the pool and the breakfast. The pool is very large, has a nice selection of seating and pool toys/ games, and has a water slide that is deceivingly fast. There is a lovely screened gazebo, a fire pit, and a nice pool bar area. The kids LOVED the pool and would have stayed in there the entire trip. We also had fun making S'mores by the fire pit -- the owners were quick to provide us with fire starters, wood, and a lighter, as well as ice (for the adult drinks). The breakfast was also fantastic. A real country breakfast both in size and quality. There were about 5 selections written on a chalkboard and you made your choices the evening before. All of the food was delicious, especially the omelette and the signature very vanilla french toast. There was always coffee, tea, fresh fruit, and cookies available. The house has plenty of private seating areas and nooks to hang out, as well as the common living room area. The hosts were excellent -- very friendly, and around just enough when we needed to find them, but not too much when we were looking for privacy. One thing to note is that they do live on-site, and the entrance to the room is just next to the guest rooms. This isn't unusual for a B&B, but something to be aware of. One other small thing-- if you are particularly sensitive about covid precautions, the hosts do not wear masks when greeting you or when near you in the house. We never asked them to, and I am sure they would if you asked, but it was not their "default." Overall, this was a great trip and we would definitely visit the Carriage Stop again!

This was our first visit to Carriage Stop and we were very happy we chose this B&B. Mike and Tammy are fantastic hosts and make you feel so at home. The room was cozy and spacious and the bed comfortable. Tammy cooks a wonderful breakfast with your choice from several options for the time you request. I hope you get to stay in warm weather because the pool is excellent. I am so glad we decided on a mid-week break here, but so sad it was only for one night. There are plenty of restaurants in the area for meals out. Thank you, Mike and Tammy, for treating us like family. Be seeing you again!
