Stayed two nights here this past week while biking the GAP and hiking in Ohiopyle State Park. I read all the reviews before booking, but booked anyway since there are few options in Ohiopyle. My experience substantiated the previous reviews. House was clean but did have some small repair issues. The two queen beds in the first floor room are... More

If you arrive without expediting much you won't be disappointed. There wasn't anyone there the whole time to greet or say goodbye. Breakfast is awaiting you in the fridge - there is a microwave to heat up the little muffins. Very disappointed that no hairdryer to be found. No internet. Shared bathroom for 3 rooms. This is clean place but... More

A character property, with period furnishings and in a delightful, quiet location. Ideal for visiting Frank Lloyd Wright's Falling Water which was less than five miles away (and highly recommended). But the Ferncliff is rather expensive and being a timber framed house if you have a ground floor room you do get woken by people upstairs stomping about in the... More

A lovely, clean, guest house, but the management is not really focused on providing a comfortable visit. We were a group of 6. Breakfast: There was tasty pumpkin bread in the refrig when we arrived, but little else in the way of breakfast. No fruit, as advertised, but did have coffee and creamer, and a very few basic black tea... More

This week we biked the GAP from Pittsburgh to Ohiopyle. There are some really nice BnBs along the way. This is not one. It costs us $250 to stay here for two days. We arrived to find a piece of paper with our key in it tucked under the siding. We locked our bikes to the front porch. We rented... More

I don't expect or want luxurious accommodations when I am cycling a rail-trail. The Ferncliff Guest House was fine. The "pros" were that it had air conditioning, it was clean, we had reserved the room with a private bath and there were no other guests in the house while we were there. The "cons" were that the beds were doubles... More

Cycling the GAP trail. Stayed many nice BnBs. Compared to others, this should be maybe 60 night max. The 110 charge is totally unjustified. No working heat on a 38 degree night. Bed sagged in middle, as beds in 50s did. On the phone they said "Sorry its not to your liking".. as if my liking was the issue! They... More

We stayed here one night while riding the GAP. The town is beautiful. The house is nice, but almost no breakfast. Very small banana muffins and a few slices of coffee cake. Some fruit and yougart would be nice

We stayed here with friends before & after a 3-day bike tour out of Ohiopyle. Beds are comfortable, house is clean, porch is relaxing, location is great -- 1 block off the main street & 1 block from the bike bridge over Yough River. Other than that, control your expectations -- and bring your own food (altho' you can't cook... More

I would have given this 5 stars if they had added a little more to their "continental" breakfast. There were plenty of banana nut muffins in the frig, coffee, and one banana, and that was it. It would be pretty easy to add some herbal tea, maybe cereal or yogurt, and enough fruit for all of the guests. This is... More
