I was attending a 60th high school reunion and staying the night before and the night after the event. The setting is a cluster of buildings on what must have been a farm. It reminded me of a small college campus. Most of the buildings were ancient with date stones like 1735 and 1820 but all nicely modernized inside. It was a very comfortable and relaxing environment popular as a wedding venue. Our event was in the John Roberts house and we had a nice buffet lunch and had the building for the rest of the day in which to socialize. Our room was very comfortable with 2 exceptions. It was on the second floor up some very narrow and steep steps and the A/C was adequate but marginal. We preferred it colder than it could achieve. The buffet breakfast on the weekends was good but not exceptional. Outdoor seating at the restaurant was very comfortable on a warm summer night.

This is a collection of historic buildings (mid 18th century) updated with new but historically compatible additions. It is a wonderful escape from the unpleasantness of suburban Philadelphia. The grounds are stunningly beautiful. There is a fine restaurant and pub with indoor and outdoor seating options (reviewed separately by me and it is great!) Rooms are very commodious. Ours had a very nice bath area where there was a large shower stall, sink and wash counter and the other necessity! In the main bedroom there is a tub with jets. WiFi and a flat screened TV is provided. I think there should be a bedside table on both sides of the bed. And I do understand the staffing problems and I have stayed at other places that have them but they tell you there will be no linen/towel changes. Most do tell you that you can ask for this. But there was no such notice here. We managed of course. Perhaps this is the "new normal"? Complimentary breakfast was SPLENDID! Wonderful lay out - beautiful fruit, pastries, scones, eggs, bacon, waffles - All served on the patio outside the restaurant or wherever you choose to take it..

My wife and I went here for the first time last night the food was excellent we both started with steamers and ciabatta bread for dipping then a mixed green salad with goat cheese and candied walnuts then we both had the pork schnitzel with mashed potatoes and haricot vert. But really the meal would not have been as EXCELLENT as it was if not for our waitress DENISE having her take care of us was truly our pleasure we will be back for schnitzel and DENISE

The hot water in the shower did not work during the entire weekend that I was there. There was a black scum along the bottom of the shower door frame. There were ants in the kitchen area. The staff member in the registration office was rude and unhelpful.

Reservations made via phone. On arrival we were assigned to Thomas Wilson House, which was built in 1853. Our room was on the second floor-be aware that the stairs are steep. We actually saw this house moved up Horsham Road in 1997. Receptionist told us that breakfast would be "grab and go", but breakfast sandwiches advertised. When we arrived to pick up breakfast the next morning, there were no hot breakfast sandwiches, but store-bought pastry (from BJ's) wrapped in plastic. Coffee and juice available. Very disappointed. I know this is the time of COVID and no housekeeping entered the room but give guests extra towels then. Had to go to front desk and asked for extra towels on third morning. We had difficulty controlling the heat. Actually, on first night we could not get any heat and shivered during the night. We reported to front desk and fixed the next day. The next night we had trouble regulating the heat again-now hoping for a slight breeze and cooling.

We went there for a wedding, rustic village type environment / setup with few downsides. Room was clean, the bed firm and the mechanicals while not perfect, were better than most midrange hotels. Friendly and helpful staff. No elevators and our bldg. had three levels. Montgomery Mall is within a mile, with every store you can imagine. Weekday breakfast at the hotel is weak at best; they call it "grab and go" - muffins, yogurt, OJ, and microwave breakfast sandwiches. (They tasted to be a bit too long in the freezer?) They also have a limited selection of Keurig coffee cups. (No Starbucks or dark roast) Weekend breakfast was MUCH better. Hot omelets, etc. I considered this place may be a good launching point for folks wanting to visit Philly? I was told there was a train nearby that takes you downtown. We had not planned for it.....so maybe another trip? Bringing your Luggage in from the parking lot along with no elevators can be a challenge for some older guests. Call the hotel before booking.

We stayed for one night and it was extremely disappointing. The customer service at this property is completely lacking! We interacted with front desk staff on two occasions and both times they came across as clearly not caring about the customer experience! Our room was #111 and it was on the first floor of a cottage. The room wasn’t very clean, the TV was analog and didn’t work well, the heating unit sounded like a wind tunnel when running and we slept horribly because the person above us was walking around/making noise until late at night and then got up at 5AM. Breakfast was a joke - it consisted of a cup of instant oatmeal and a pre packaged pastry. When checking out, I tried to share this feedback with the woman at the front desk but she didn’t care at all - not even an apology. I am posting this review with hopes that management reads these and actually takes some action to improve things.

While the setting looks really pretty and appealing as a cute country inn and the food in the restaurant was indeed excellent, this is not the place that believes in COVID-19 protection. AT ALL. Although I was wearing a mask non stop , nobody from the Inn staff but one waitress wore one. In the restaurant, when I asked if they weren't required to wear a mask, young lady briskly informed me she was vaccinated. When I responded that so was I but as a physician was still wearing a mask she gave me the "look" and said if I insist they can ask our waiter to wear one ( at which point . respect for guest is something they never heard of. There is not a real spaced seating in the restaurant either. We ordered only two entrees and waited 40 minutes when the waitress finally came to say we will get our food although when we ordered less than half of the restaurant was full. My room was on the second floor and for the price of the night left a lot to be desired for. The heating was modest and there was one blanket , not enough for 2 people. Charging devices was difficult with very few plugs. The breakfast was "to go" but when we came to the reception we were not eve asked or reminded there was one. Overall I will never recommend this place and I shared this info with my colleague who lives close by and knows the place. Overall recommendation - Covid fountain in making.. Remember that even cheap fats food place like McDonalds has employees that wear mask and show they care for themselves and their customers.

Much nicer than staying in a chain hotel for the night. The room was very nice, clean and quiet. Not far from a busy road, so that was impressive. Beautiful grounds for a walk after a long car ride. The bed was comfortable. Plenty of hot water for a soak in the whirlpool tub. It was Monday and the restaurant was closed. We were disappointed that we couldn't try the food.

Really wanted to have a great review for the Hotel version of the property - but it all ended badly and would not trust this establishment going forward. Have left a personal message to get a call from the owner, which was never returned - even after having a rental car stolen right out of their parking lot. There is little to no lighting, no cameras and no security - front office was very nonchalant when reported the car stolen and called the police - no support from the office or staff - left dealing with a horrible experience by oneself (very low integrity all around) - again would have loved to stay at this venue a lot more over the coming years (was there up to 10 days in two weeks) but there is still a responsibility and higher level of trust people need to be held too. If all they want is your money - then fair warning!!!
