We wanted to go and visit the grape country in North East, Pennsylvania. I searched on the internet and found this hidden gem. We were actually going to stay for 2 nights and we found out how relaxing the bed and breakfast was so we stayed a total of 3 nights and it was definitely worth it. This bed and breakfast is a grape farm and the farmhouse you stay in is over 100 years old. It has been totally remolded and it's just beautiful. You are just gonna fall in love with the hosts, Ted and Norma. They are the nicest, friendliness, people you will ever meet. We have met our forever friends. Norma makes the best breakfast in the country. She starts off with a delicious muffin, fruit cup, coffee, orange and grape juice. She always make whatever kind of eggs you want from their home grown eggs from the farm. Each day we had something different. From homemade blueberry pancakes, french toast, and homemade cinnamon pecan waffles - so delicious plus sausage and bacon too. You won't go hungry. We stayed in the Upper room, very cozy with a queen bed and a daybed. Also, your own bathroom. It was like our own apartment, so peaceful. You will see lots of animals at the farm from ducks, guineas, birds, cats, and chickens. Won't forget the baby turtle. It's a farm. There is a pond that you can go fishing. We enjoyed sitting on the deck and drinking our wine with Norma and Ted. Norma, I will never forget the Hot Spicy Wine. It was just so relaxing to sit outside and have wonderful conversations with Norma and watch the beautiful stars. On our last day, Norma sent a care package home with us. She gave us Gladolia bulbs to plant at home, muffins, plants, waffles and recipes and 2 chocolate covered marshmellow cookies to take home. If you want the perfect place to stay, here it is. At $85 a night where can you go wrong. We are already planning a future visit in the fall when the grapes are ripe. Visit this beautiful bed and breakfast and support your small business owners. Thank you Ted and Norma for everything. Your are the best! We have 2 new friends forever. God Bless. Tammy & Alan Richmond…
I stayed one night in December en route to upstate NY and had a wonderful stay at Contented Acres! Ted and Norma are amazing! I felt like I was visiting members of my family-they are very sweet and extremely friendly, and their rooms are very comfortable and homey. Such a beautiful setting on their farm near Lake Erie. Excellent food too! A definite keeper! I will be back again in 2020 for sure!
Beautiful setting in the middle of PA wine country. So relaxing! If you are a bird fan you will enjoy all the varieties that gather in their bushes as you enjoy the delicious country breakfast. Norma’s county breakfast can’t be beat. Norma & Ted are wonderful hosts. We will be back.
