This was our second visit to the Inn, and it did not disappoint! First of all, the restaurant is superb. The French Onion Soup is to die for, and the bundt cake dessert was out of this world. I had the pork chop, Catherine had the duck breast, both were sublime. Great, great service in a wonderful space. Get a seat by the fire! We had a spacious room with jacuzzi tub, well appointed and very comfortable. We hit the sauna for a bit after breakfast and before checking out. I cannot recommend The French Manor Inn and Spa highly enough.

What a wonderful way to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary. Our room was cozy, the hot tub was delicious and the fireplace kept us toasty. The bed & bedding were luxurious and such a treat. Our spa visit was over-the-top and we felt very safe with all the precautions. Our meals in the dining room were just amazing. Dinner was one of the best we’ve ever had with the most lovely thick cloth napkins ever. Our server Sarah was a delight and we enjoyed chatting with her. She was able to have our dessert wrapped to go & that was special. Every person we spoke with at The French Manor Inn was warm and inviting. This is a place we will come back to and the PERFECT location to celebrate any special event.

My boyfriend and I had a wonderful stay at the French Manor right before the holidays. The Inn is very romantic and cozy. We stayed in one of the spa suites and absolutely loved it. The fireplace, the jacuzzi tub for two and comfortable king size bed were a treat. The room was immaculate and we really appreciated the early check in as we had spa appointments in the early afternoon. The spa suites are very convenient to the spa and we had a great experience at the spa. We really enjoyed our couples massage and my boyfriend also had a hot stone massage and facial. The spa staff are excellent. Also loved the heated indoor pool, jacuzzi and sauna. We had a delicious spa lunch by the pool. Had dinner both nights at the restaurant which is excellent. We loved the cheese plate (especially the Boursin), the short rib ramen, the lobster bisque, the filet and lobster tail, the scallops and the incredible desserts. The service was top notch. The restaurant also has a nice wine list. The dining room is very romantic and cozy and we loved sitting by the warm fire with the holiday decorations. The breakfasts are wonderful and offer a number of good choices - loved the pancakes. The service across the board was excellent, attentive and welcoming. We had a very enjoyable and memorable visit to the French Manor!

I spent an hour or so selecting which room I'd like for me and my husband's stay and I decided on what looked like a bright, newly updated room so I went ahead and booked it 3-4 months in advance. All 3 of my email confirmations included this room on my booking. When we arrived we were put in a completely different room and when asked why, reception said that the room I had booked, "wasn't even remotely clean" (despite them knowing about my reservation for 3-4 months). It's very much like that Seinfeld quote, “See, you know how to take the reservation, you just don't know how to hold the reservation and that's really the most important part of the reservation, the holding.” We were not given the promised wine and cheese upon arrival. The room we were put in was covered wall to ceiling in wood paneling with 3 very small windows with a creaky floor and bed, it was so dark and out dated but fine, I could get passed that. However, after some inspection of the room: we had no towels, there was hair in the bathtub, one of the pillows looked like it had a urine stain on it, the sheets were stained, and there were pop-rocks on the floor.... considering the current state of affairs, I wasn't confident these rooms were properly cleaned. Lastly, my husband and I took a 30 minute dip in their "salt water pool" only to notice that the pool bleached my entire swimsuit. From some research this is caused by over chlorination. I let the front staff know about this and they did credit me for the cost of my suit. The reason I gave them 2 stars and not 1 is because the property is gorgeous and there is a trailhead to a nice little hiking trail right on site.

Visited the French manor for a long anniversary weekend. The room was large but could have definitely used some updating. I realize that due to covid they now have no housekeeping. It’s just annoying having to call for everything you run out of. Coffee, shampoo, toilet paper etc... I feel the prices should reflect that you don’t receive housekeeping. The restaurant is very pretty but I ordered the filet and lobster and honestly the filet was one of the smallest filets I’ve ever seen. Very disappointing since the prices are very expensive. Staff is very friendly and they do go out of their way to help.

I booked a girls spa weekend getaway for my birthday. Upon arrival we had to wait to get checked in, no one was available. Our room was nice; however, behind the end table I found an empty clear small plastic bag with food crumbs inside of it. The coffee pot was dirty (still had coffee residue in it ) the coffee maker had a used coffee filter inside of it. Our spa appointments were book at the different times and hours apart which did not allow of much time to do any other activities because we had to wait for one another and our massages were booked for the morning (11am -12pm) while our facials were book in the late afternoon (3:30 -4:30). Facials were horrible. Bridget did the facial with extraction and didn’t extract any blackheads (I removed them upon arrival to my room) the message wasn’t a massage just a body treatment which wasn’t that great either. Rebecca did the massage and she kept talking about her kids when I just wanted to relax quietly. I’d tried calling downstairs multiple time and no one answered the phone. Had breakfast in bed a d they forgot the coffee tried calling the front desk to have it brought to us and no one answered. I walked over to the building rang the bell several times and no service provided. I stood there waiting for about 15 minutes and no one ever came to the front desk. My sister and I are so disappointed. We spent so much money for a decent getaway and got nothing. With the amount of money we spent we could’ve taken a trip overseas. And it could’ve been an all inclusive stay at that! During dinner the one waiter Donnie kept asking my sister and I if we were sharing an entree! Like who does that! I’m disgusted and will never recommend this place to anyone. In fact. When my friends back home ask about my stay here they will hear these exact same words! I mentioned these things to Jude the manager from the restaurant because he was the only I’ve spoken with since I’ve been here and all he could say was sorry! Honestly, sorry doesn’t cut it in this situation. It’s not genuine. And if they really cared about their reputation here they’d try to find a way to make it up to the customers by at least providing some sort of discount on their stay!

+1
The owners have gone for top quality and achieved it, but know that top quality comes with a premium price. The restaurant is a perennial four diamond rating and the food does not disappoint. We had two breakfasts, one lunch and two dinners. Isaac at the bar is entertaining and creative. Spa services were expertly done and friendly. Small number of rooms never overcrowds the heated indoor pool. Staff is uniformly engaging and hospitable. We never left the property. Beautiful views and nature walks aplenty.
If you get the spa suite, book a day of spa services, eat and drink on-site, you should expect to spend $1000 per couple per night stayed.

The French Manor is beautiful! No question that the quiet and the views are the best part. We got massages and they were first class! A great way to start the get away. The room was large and well cared for. Some of the elements were slightly older, but still ok. Every morning when we returned from breakfast, the room was already made up, which was a nice touch. The service was far better during the week than on the weekend. They seem understaffed on weekends which is reflected in the food quality and service. The front desk is not staffed which is challenging. It was hard to get in touch with someone on the phone ahead of arrival as well as when we needed assistance. You need to ring the bell for service and someone working the dining room may or may not hear it and come over to the front desk. Breakfast is well done, but they are definitely overwhelmed with the number of guests. The fruit plate with breakfast was a lot smaller on the weekend than during the week. The dinner dining experience is wonderful! The ambience is fantastic and the bartender and service were excellent. The food was expensive and just "ok." We did not care for the cheesecake. Being so close to NY, we were hoping for something homemade. Instead it was rather gummy. One night we went to "Overboards" for dinner, and the food was far better at half the price.
All of that being said, we would absolutely go back! I think they just need to pay a little more attention to the fine details to really take it to the next level.

It's been three years since we visited this place. Last week we spent five nights and had a great time. We prefer the rooms in the Spa section which are very large with fireplaces, jacuzzis, and decks. I only wish you could get directly into the spa without going outside in the bad weather. Anyway, we both had massages, my wife had some body stuff done, and we just hung out for a few days to get away from home. Breakfast was great as usual, and Gennie was helpful as always. We ddn't eat dinner in the restaurant, but instead visited some local ones. Johns Italian is pretty good, Overboards which is up near I-84 exit is terrific and very reasonably priced, and even enjoyed a couple of bars..
It's always nice to go back to place and find it just as good as before.
Yes, its pricey, but this isn't your typical B&B. And its great there are no kids

This is without question a beautiful getaway in the middle of nowhere. The Inn is quaint - the views amazing. We did a day trip to Jim Thorpe as there is really nothing to do within 30 miles other than read a book or hike around the property. The dinner we had on a Friday night was disappointing. The fish was very overcooked, the pork belly very dry, and overall menu was not what one would expect with the "French" vibe. It took 15 minutes (not exaggerating) to get a cocktail and there were only about 4 other tables dining at the same time. Service was very slow, but then we figured they are accustom to people having no where else to go, so why not? The 2nd night we ventured to a place called The Hotel (about 10 miles away) which is very casual, but OUTSTANDING food and service! We had prime rib that was absolutely delicious, and overall meal experience was exceptional compared to our meal at the French Manor (and 60% less expensive). Turns out the chef at The Hotel USED to be the chef at the French Manor. They should have kept him! Breakfast at the French Manor is great - no complaints and the morning servers/staff far exceed those on a Friday night. All in all a nice 2 night get away, but we will not do it again.
