Detailed Reviews
Stayed at Dockside last weekend and it was everything we hoped for. A beautiful, clean place, with friendly host. Donna, our host, was great, so friendly and welcoming. The private lake with a paddle boat and gazebo were really nice. The rooms were stocked with water, coffee, fruit, bagels, danish and other snacks. We are already trying to get dates to rent this place again. Absolutely loved this place.

Donna's property is absolutely gorgeous. My husband and I went on an overnight getaway to have some much needed alone time from our toddler and this stay was everything we were looking for and more. Donna was super communicative, she went above and beyond to ensure we had what we needed and had a positive experience. We stayed in the Elk suite, the decor and ambiance was so perfectly set for the rustic feeling of the property. It was extremely clean and there was a nice jacuzzi as well. We ordered takeout from a local restaurant and ate on the gazebo overlooking the lake. She also had a fire pit available for use. I would definitely stay again. Thank you again Donna for an excellent trip!

Needed to get some relaxation time in, away from everything. This was the place to do it ! We stayed in the Elk Suite, which is a Fantastic suite with bedroom, bath and a Large living room/breakfast area. My wife and I both loved the rustic and very comfortable decor. This room also had it's own rap around deck with outdoor seating, overlooking the 2 lakes and corn field. The hosts Donna & John were very friendly and accommodating. We will be making more trips out there. Thanks Donna for giving me the down time that I Really needed !

Room Tip: Elk Suite is the best, it is separate from main building with it's own deck

Overall this stay was fine but had ups and downs. Our reservation was confirmed but there was a problem and the room I chose was not available. We were offered the Elk Room, which was fine except we didn't care for the decor. We ended up appreciating the detachment from the main house, as well as the large lovely patio area with a table and chairs and glider. The room was very clean and spacious. There is a large jacuzzi available as well. We loved taking a glass of wine down to the gazebo and enjoying the serenity of the pond. Only real negative is that I wouldn't classify it as a real B&B. We were given a paper with breakfast options, like hard-boiled eggs, cereal in individual cartons, yogurt, bagels, etc. We stayed 2 nights and received breakfast supplies for both mornings, didn't get a choice for something different the second morning. I didn't want a cold dry bagel but did discover the microwave also has a toaster attached which was appreciated. We found a great cafe nearby instead and had a hot breakfast. There is not a reliable wifi signal in the Elk Room so if you want to use your netflix or have work to do that relies on a signal you won't be able to do that in this room. It was also a bit disconcerting to have to pay in cash, not even a check. Might be nice if they offered Venmo at least, don't like carrying so much cash.

If you want a cold continental breakfast and don’t mind paying a lot for it at a so called BNB then This is your place …..
We stayed for
My daughters wedding which was 2 miles away. Donna made the bride a nervous wreck about parking as she hounded us about the number of vehicles parked. Hair and makeup for wedding being done at BnB so Donna charged extra for us to have people get ready for wedding at BNB Breakfast was cheerios, banana coffee pod for keurig and a v small bottle of OJ along with 2 hard boiled eggs. Would not allow an iron in room. Frig froze our food as well as can of soda Donna left for us. . Sliding glass door non operable in our room. Ancient TV. Donna would not allow me a one night stay, she insisted on 2 night only which left me no choice but to stay 2. Then she rented room
To my friend for 1 night. And she booked my friend in the same room as I was booked. Clearly lack of uniform policy as well as lack of organization in her booking skills.
Property is beautiful yet you can only sit at pond on the opposite side of pond from house far from rooms. Nothing close to house was for guest us. No view from My room except of driveway.
I would never recommend this “BNB” nor would I call it a BNB ….. clearly Donna does not know what “breakfast” should be at a BNB or how to operate a BNB

I'm just getting to review the fabulous weekend my husband and I had the weekend of Oct 7th, 2022. We were celebrating our 12th wedding anniversary and stayed in the Elk suite. Donna and Bob were wonderful hosts with making sure we had everything we needed, with first checking on us before we even arrived, as well as while we were there. The room was stocked with snacks , water, and sodas. Bagels, oatmeal, eggs, coffee, tea, and juice were also supplied for breakfast. We enjoyed the gorgeous views of the property and the lake. It was so nice sitting on our private patio, sipping coffee watching the sunrise in the morning. There is also a gazebo, which is beautifully lit at night, a paddle boat, and a firepit for guest enjoyment. Be sure to check out their recommendations for local dining and things to do in the area. We had an amazing meal at Madeline's in Fogelsville! Everything from the comfortable furniture, the spa tub, and the atmosphere allowed us to have such a relaxing and enjoyable weekend. We hope to come back again soon!

Booked the Garden Room for a weekend stay in the area for a baby shower, with my boyfriend. The room was stunning. Crisp and white, with beautiful furnishings. The grounds are absolutely gorgeous. The grounds have a gazebo that looks stunning when lit up at night. They also have a fire pit and a paddle boat. Donna and Bob are amazing hosts that go above and beyond. Check out their recommendations when you are there too. They are excellent. I cannot say enough great things about this place!

This was our second stay at Dockside.. we chose the Island room. Luxury bathroom with jacuzzi tub and separate rain shower was awesome for relaxing. Loved the view even though it rained. Close to wineries was a plus

The couple that runs this B&B had the audacity to send me an extremely rude email following my stay because I didn't clean the room before checking out!!! Maybe if maid service was offered ONCE, I would have been able to discard my trash accordingly. Very overpriced, terrible service.

My husband and I were looking for a quiet place to relax and celebrate our anniversary. The Dockside's Bed and Breakfast looked awesome online so we tried to book one of their suites on the deck and next to the lake. We were lead to believe that the 2 rooms attached to the house and on the decks by the water were being renovated. The owner offered us the Elk Suite instead and told us we would probably have the run of the place when we got there. The day after we arrived we found out that guests did not have access to the docks attached to the house. We had to walk half way around the lake to even find a bench to sit on. They have changed their website since we were there. DO NOT GO THERE IN HOT WEATHER - THE ELK SUITE LOOKS NICE BUT THERE IS NO A/C IN THE BEDROOM, CEILING FAN OR WINDOWS YOU CAN OPEN. IT WAS SO HOT WE HAD TO SLEEP IN THE LIVINGROOM ON THE COUCH. SAME PROBLEM WITH THE BATHROOM - NO VENT AND NO A/C. To top it off we could not use the jacuzzi/bathtub because it needed a new stopper and would not hold water. We found this out after we spent 30 minutes cleaning the jet heads that were totally gross and looked like they have never been cleaned. I have emailed the owners 3 times trying to get a partial refund but they will not even respond. We booked this place because of the deck next to the water and the jacuzzi. This place is in the middle of nowhere and with little to do or see.
