We enjoyed our stay here very much to celebrate our 10 year anniversary and recent engagement. Check in/out process was easy. The hosts were very friendly and not overbearing like at some B&Bs I've been to. All the staff members we came into contact with were helpful in recommending nearby restaurants and happenings around town including the surrounding areas. We stayed in the Umpleby House which is right next door to the main house. We stayed on the third floor. Apparently the buildings are all haunted. Me and my fiancee both said we experienced a weird feeling in the bathroom and he heard quiet knocking behind our bed. There is a balcony with amazing natural light that spills into the sitting area inside where I would read every morning. Breakfast was yummy! Always fresh cut fruit to start. The mushroom quiche and pumpkin bread were both good. There was complimentary amaretto, tea and coffee in our room as well. I must say I now want to collect Wedgewood pottery thanks to their beautiful collection! Each space we stepped into here was so cozy, we really enjoyed it. Also, downtown is not even a 10 minute walk away. Peddler's Village is about a 15 minute drive as well as Lambertville, NJ. Great location! I would definitely go back and try out one of the other rooms.

Holy cow … you've gotta check this out alert. 🚨 My girlfriend and I snuck away to the most amazing bed and breakfast (perhaps ever?) over Thanksgiving. A gem on the Bucks County Registry of Historic Places — New Hope’s Wedgwood Bed & Breakfast Inn looks like it could’ve been plucked from the page of an 19th novel by Louisa May Alcott or Nathanial Hawthorn. The Inn is situated in a town as rich in history as it is in east coast charm where locals love to share first-hand accounts of run-ins with the ghost of Aaron Burr and recount Revolutionary War tales of New Hope frequents like George Washington. Adjacent to the Delaware River, this waterside town is bristling with colorful storefronts, rad dining spots, pubby bars, and scenic views. Let me tell you something else, these people know how to DO. IT. UP. for the holidays. I had a super cool run-in with the one and only Santa Clause via the North Poll Express on my final day out. Anyway, New Hope itself honestly deserves a post of its own, but I'll get to that another time. My girlfriend and I stayed next door to the Wedgwood at the Umpleby House during our trip. The 1833 manor house is situated on two private green acres steps from the picturesque riverside village square. William Umpleby was a prominent mill owner who built the current structure that at one point served as a headquarters house for the Continental Army. Its surrounding acreage served as a bivouac site for over 1200 men for 10 days just prior to Washington's famous crossing of the Delaware River on Christmas Eve, 1766. Pretty neat, huh? The whole deal is beaming with Victorian charm — everything from the aesthetics of the place (Pumpkin pine floors!) to the warm and gracious welcome we had from our host, Nadine who purchased and renovated Umpleby House in 1985 converting it to the eight bedroom luxury inn it is now. The fine details made the stay very special. We're talking chocolates and sweet booze upon arrival, bathrobes to snug up in, and the breakfasts of all breakfasts ta boot! Highly recommend. Can't wait to go back.
