Great renovations to the hotel and definitely better than Mohegan Sun. Glad we tried it out. Rooms are amazing and the staff was friendly and kind. Restaurants are good and the full serve Starbucks is a nice added feature.
First for the good news - my room had a very comfortable bed, nice shower and good size TV. The hiking trail that they established (turn right out of the lobby and cross the street) follows a nice stream, and is just the right length (.4 miles). Now for the not as good news - smoking is allowed on several parts of the casino floor - they should have a separate closed-in wing for the smokers so that they can still smoke and gamble while allowing non-smokers like me to not have my clothes smell like a chimney after a ten minute tour of the casino. While there was a good quantity of dining options, the quality left a bit to be desired. Finally, for some reason hundreds of trees appear to have recently been cut on the non-stream side of the hiking trail with several stumps left behind, somewhat detracting from the walk. Since I am not a big gambler, I would stay here again if in the area - but would avoid the casino due to the smoke…
I have been blown away by the cleanliness of my suite, the resort in all aspects was so clean and spectacular. I won a couple times at the casino and didn't even know what I was doing. The staff at the dining and Resort were all very kind and welcoming. Am an amputee and from check in to getting a rental scooter to checking out; to valet, myself and boyfriend were very impressed by the staff and their professionalism. My only issue was that I didn't bring my own toilet paper. LOL! I don't like using cheap toilet paper and my body was not so happy. I cannot stop admiring my photos and the memories will be with me for years. I'll definitely be back with my other half.
The room actually was lovely but we only had an obstructed view of the lake. I was not offered the choice of a full view or partial when I booked. The furniture in the living room was not the most comfortable however, the bed was extremely comfortable. The room was spotless and so was the bathroom. We were a little surprised that there was no refrigerator in the room which we did not know about prior to booking. Because of this we were unable to store left-overs or snacks. The most disappointing thing about our stay was that there was no acknowledgement of our 45 year anniversary celebration. I sent an email to Guest Services telling them of our upcoming return to Mt. Airy after 45 years and sent a few photos as well. We enjoyed our honeymoon at Mt. Airy Lodge back in 1977 and looked forward to celebrating our anniversary at the same location. I hoped that perhaps a little something in appreciation would be in the room, even a bottle of wine, but absolutely nothing. I guess things like this don't really matter anymore. Guy Fieri’s review We were seated right away, but the lighting all through the room was very harsh and uncomfortable. We each ordered a burger expecting something great, however we were very disappointed. The service was a bit slow even though we were there before the crowd (approximately 4:30 pm). The burgers came and the presentation looked great however, the meat was very dry and chewy. Our waiter forgot to ask us how we wanted it prepared so they came well-done. We were half way done when our waiter asked how was the meal so we told him we were not satisfied. My husband ate most of his, and I could only eat less than half. We were given a complimentary dessert which was very good but really didn't make up for the terrible burgers. Also, the French fries were not very hot and greasy. Because of this, we decided to have the remainder of our meals away from the hotel, fearing the quality would not be equal to the cost. …
This was the best weekend getaway, fun, relaxing, food was Amazing, all staff was extremely polite and helpful. The pool was super clean and plenty of room for all. I already booked my next weekend there!!
If you looking for a day trip Mt Airy has it all, great atmosphere, super friendly staff and we love the spa and pool. Bistecca has an awesome menu from steaks and seafood to pasta dishes. Overall 5 out of 5 stars
The hotel room was absolutely stunning! Best hotel I have ever stayed in by far. The view was gorgeous and the food was amazing. Customer service was also amazing! Could not have asked for a better hotel to stay at while celebrating my anniversary !
Overall, all the employees are very friendly, the food was excellent, the rooms were very clean with a great view of the golf course. Shopping at the nearby outlets made for a good day. Made for a great birthday getaway!
We stayed at this hotel recently for a Porsche event that was going on in the area. We are not gamblers or smokers, so we did not enjoy the common areas in this hotel. The lobby and casino areas smelled strongly of smoke, which was bothersome to us. You must go through the casino in order to access the restaurants. There’s no way around that. On a positive note, our room was very nice. I felt like our room was our sanctuary for the time we were there. It was clean and our bed was very comfortable. My absolute favorite part of our room was the shower. I loved the Moen shower faucet. If you like casinos and smoke doesn’t bother you, then this is a great hotel. Although I loved our room, I would not go back because of the cigarette smoke.
All the restaurants have a view of Casino, very dark, cold, average food. Outdoor pool is tiny, no umbrellas either. Worst money we ever paid (1,042$ for 2 nights). No amenities other than Casino. Will not ever come again
