Had a delicious dinner there, and would go again. Idyllic spot and views from the patio. Very friendly service- in fact the chef came out to talk with us about a recipe! High-end dining at reasonable prices.

Had a lovely 3 course dinner while on the Cabot Trail- unexpected find! Food was fantastic! Soup to start with their homemade buns which were so aromatic and delish! We had a duck dish and a beef stew with gnocchi- both were creative and very good. The potatoe chocolate cake is a must!

My husband and I stayed overnight at this quaint Inn. The setting was on a hill high Above the Cabot trail, on a lovely natural meadow. The Inn was filled with antique furniture and books giving it a delightful peaceful atmosphere! We dined put in the verandah. The food and service were excellent. Breakfast was exceptional and came with the room. We would highly recommend this Inn. Bob and Lynn Halliday

Our rooms were lovely and clean. The meals were outstanding. A freshly cooked breakfast was included in the price of the rooms. Be sure to try the scallops and chocolate potato cake for dinner. Our hosts were lovely. The location was relatively close to kayaking and artisan shops . We had a wonderful stay and it was hard to leave!

We just left the Chanterelle yesterday. Hated to go. Breakfasts were wonderful, dinners delicious. Our waiter, the chef 's husband, absolutely amazing! We enjoyed our 4 night stay. Rooms in the inn are a bit small but beautiful, clean and lovely. The 3 cabins have great views, porches for sitting and kitchens if you want to make your own meals. The owner very helpful and accommodating. This is a great location from which to explore the Cabot Trail. If we ever return to Cape Breton, we will stay here for sure!

Staying at the Chanterelle Inn was the highlight of our trip to Nova Scotia. The Inn sits atop a hill with a lovely vista of the St Anne area. It's quiet. You can see the stars at night. The rooms are classy with nice art, windows that open, clean and airy. They are small but designed for a small footprint. In fact, the entire property was designed with a low carbon footprint in mind. There is well water and locally sourced food. The kitchen was excellent. A German chef served up a diverse menu of fresh seafood, meats, and vegetarian dishes with a German flair. Her husband, our server, was attentive and knowledgeable. He will recommend where to go and what to see and take good care of you. I also want to point out that the current owner has been running the Inn for twenty years. She designed the Inn and brought in a few cabins that had been discarded and left to rot. She restored them and they also sit on the property. I think what she has done is nothing short of amazing. And the area, the Cabot Traill and all it has to offer, is stunningly beautiful. We will return!

The family running this works 18 hour days and there are only 3 of them! The staff is literally sacrificing sleep and days off to make the guests experience wonderful. They use locally sourced foods as much as possible and deserve a day off but they don't get them and THAT IS DEDICATION! We spent 2 nights here in this cozy retreat overlooking the North River/Tarbot valley and you will not believe the view until you see it yourself. The food is delicious and the dining area is beautiful over seeing the rolling hills of the Cape Breton highlands. You may even get to see multiple hummigbirds as you dine! We had our wedding party stay here and we could not have been happier with them.

This somewhat remote inn turned out to be a great find. The inn is welcoming and consciously green. Rooms are very clean, modern and comfortable (provided the weather is not too hot since at least the main building is not air conditioned). The view from the back porch is lovely- including lots of hummingbirds to great you at mealtime. At night, the view of the stars is spectacular! We had dinner (seafood fettuccine) and breakfast (berry pancakes) at the inn and both were outstanding - not only delicious but beautifully presented. A great place to relax about 30 minutes from Baddeck.

Thank you for taking your time to write such a wonderful review!! And for pointing out that the inn is consciously green. The inn was designed to create maximum fresh air flow and of course, air conditioning is non-sustainable as we all face climate change. And you took advantage of the natural wonders of the area---hummingbirds and the view of the nighttime sky.

We stayed at this inn the last night of a Cabot Trail bike tour - and it was a highlight. Great food at both dinner and breakfast was equaled by the setting - high on a high hill with a fantastic view. The hosts were everything you want in an small inn - welcoming and charming. Highly reccomend.
