Overpriced. No privacy. No seating outside. Our room (suite)was next to kitchen. Room is not insulated. Very noisy. Lobster Bisque was pretty good. $12.00 salad overpriced. Crab was over cooked and dried out. Shells perhaps cut before cooking or they sat under heater lamp too long. Didn’t like our complaint and the owner came out and actually embarrassed us by saying she thought it was cooked perfectly. Even more unfriendly after that. We had the duck that sat in a pool of grease. Thought there would be info regarding sustainable practices but the staff are very busy looking after guests. Nothing in rooms to read about it. We arrived around three and left the next morning. The no seating area outside would have been horrible had we stayed the extra day. Would not recommend and this was the first place I booked. Probably had too many expectations.

Set in a beautiful and serene location overlooking valleys, this Inn offers top notch cuisine, possibly the best in the entire island. Besides breakfast, we had 3 superb dinners at their restaurant. The menu changes daily with the freshest ingredients (all within 100 km) exquisitely prepared. The tarragon chicken, lamb shank and seafood newberg were made to perfection. The chef-owner Earlene Busch and the entire chef were warm and welcoming. A very enjoyable stay! Sent from my iPhone

Out of five stars, this place deserves six! Great, comfortable room. We had dinner every night at the restaurant (most of the first floor). The best food you will get almost anywhere. She is fussy about her suppliers (all local and the food is picked or caught that day). Some wonders: Dandelion Sherbet (wonderful taste and an exquisite after-taste). The biggest and freshest 1.5 pound lobster I've ever had. Fiddlehead Soup with fiddlehead ferns picked that morning — absolutely a dream in taste! duck confit that was wonderful — so were the lamb chops. A breakfast custard topped with fresh local strawberries. Breakfast came with the room, and if there were only one or two rooms taken, she discussed breakfast with us and cooked what we asked. If the crowd was larger, and incredible breakfast buffet. The place is very quiet and scenery incredible. Getting there is a chore, but worth it. We flew to Halifax and then drive the 220 miles in a rental car. The staff is extremely helpful and very friendly. We felt like family. One of the best weeks I have ever had.

Staff was lovely! Very sweet and it was clean! However, no airconditioning! Couldn't sleep. The ceiling fan was very loud, sounded like a stream engine, needs to be fixed or changed. Plug beside need wasnt working. Couldn't charge electronics or use bedside lamp. You get one flimsy pillow, can't sleep on that. Worst of all, no wireless coverage and wifi only works near front desk. Also no tv in room. So you get in and you stare at the ceiling till you fall sleep.. if you can. You wake up sweating every few hours with neck pain. I never leave reviews but this place was so bad i had to. Plus it isn't cheap. Over 200$/night.. no breakfast no ac no tv no wifi and uncomfortable sleep.

We stayed for 2 nights. The owner is lovely and we stayed in one of the cottages which was clean spacious and comfortable with lovely views. The evening meal on both nights was lovely and plentiful and breakfast was freshly served. There is also a fully stocked bar with local beers and wines. We enjoyed a very relaxing stay and slept well. This isn’t a luxury property but a very comfortable and friendly place to stay. Would certainly recommend for anyone visiting Cape Breton and the carbot trail.
