We completely agree with the review below, by Zanoza from Boston. My boyfriend and I thought and felt exactly the same as they did. This indeed is "a dying business that the owners keep milking without trying hard or making any additional investments" …. they make very, very little effort whatsoever!!! You'd be far better off in a motel in... More

My husband and I were looking for a quiet, romantic night to celebrate our anniversary at this Bed and Breakfast. Needless to say, they had a loud dance show in their restaurant until 2 am. What a nightmare! When they said they were having a show, they didn't mention the dance club aspect of it. What a disappointment. When we... More

This is a dying business that the owners keep milking without trying hard or making any additional investments. When we arrived we first had to wait for a clerk (Beth?) to get off her cell phone. Then we were told a set of rules that assumed we were at Black Walnut solely for a purpose of ruining their antique furniture... More

We stayed in the cabin on the lake with my parents and our two daughters, ages 9 and 5, and found it to be cozy and comfortable. The kitchen was even stocked with everything we needed to prepare meals there (except food, of course). Robin and William were extremely accommodating to our every request, and their home-cooked breakfasts were delicious!... More

The Black Walnut was a great choice as a poconos getaway. Easily accessible by highway, yet a little off the beaten path. The rooms are quite cozy, ours had a private bath. This is a mix of modern with a throwback to another era. Walking around the lake at night, listening to the chorus of bullfrogs and peepers, going horseback... More

I kept hearing that in preparation of a wedding something will go wrong. The family and staff at the Black Walnut Inn saw to it that those concerns were unwarranted. They are pros but unobtrusive, they thought of the things that we didn't and I can think of no way the event would have been better or any place that... More

What an amazing experience! Robin, William and Sonia made us feel right at home. Even prior to our stay, William was very helpful-- patiently answering all of our many questions, and helping us decide that this was the perfect spot for a family weekend getaway. We chose to stay in the cabin, which was immaculate, cozy and perfectly situated just... More

Our family tradition is to take a vacation at Christmas. This year we picked the Black Walnut Inn in the Poconos and were very pleased with the choice. The "family" for this trip included Mom & Dad and 4 kids (ages 21-28), one son-in-law, a boyfriend and 2 dogs. We all stayed in the cabin and thoroughly enjoyed the family-time,... More

The Black Walnut is a great place to go for a relaxing and enjoyable stay. The vintage style setup is very welcoming and comfortable. The grounds are beautiful in the summer and the fireplace is cozy in the winter. The owners are warm, accomodating and caring. Constantly making sure everyone is OK. Robin is amazing and I really look forward to... More

I was eagerly anticipating New Year’s weekend so I can finally escaped the stressors of school and work. I decided to plan a couple weekend trip and we were looking for accommodations in close proximity to a ski resort. After running a search on all ski resorts the result was a price way above our budgets. We then decided to... More
