The room was cold, they were having problems with the heat. One if the windows did not have a screen. I would not recommend in the winter. The room could use a full length mirror. The staff was very pleasant and understood there was a problem.

I had a wonderful stay at the Fauchere. The staff was friendly and accommodating and the atmosphere is great - everything you need from a small town boutique hotel. A simple breakfast is served each morning, and there are also great local options - including the Water Wheel cafe

The service, the staff, the food, the ambiance were wonderful at the Hotel but the room we had was small, basic without any thought of how to make a small space more livable. Yachts do it, cruise ships do it..... If you choose to stay here I guess you need to get their bigger room.... The restaurant [Bar Louis] is amazing, with wonderful food and service. Their breakfast was incredible......

Disappointing. While the hotel is a beautiful and historic, it lacked the attention to detail that one would expect from $400 a night accommodations. While the room was clean and beautiful, and the breakfasts were mostly very good, there was a lack of attention to the hospitality station- cold coffee, warm lemon water and no tea bags. We waited 30 minutes at our dinner table there before being asked for just our drink order, so realizing that they were overwhelmed, we left and ended up getting a much faster (and cheaper) meal at the bar 30 feet away in the alley. The next night we ate dinner at Dimmicks down the street and found their menu, food and wait time to be far better. While I understand that every place has staffing issues right now, Hotel Fauchere needs to hire additional staff or adjust their prices to reflect the accommodations they are currently offering.

We visit Milford from NYC every July 4th week and always look forward to brunch and dinner at the Hotel Fauchere. Yesterday our brunch was meh. And the charm the place had was noticeable different. I Googled and discovered the place was sold. The magic is gone

Distinguished yet not ostentatious historical hotel. Breakfast is delicious home made fluffy seasoned scrambled eggs, tasty home fries bacon cooked to perfection, (hard to come by). croissants and pastries, yogurt with granola, fresh juice, coffee and assorted teas in a beautiful setting with elegant music. Dinner at Bar Louis (downstairs in hotel) was a lovely time for a nice date night. Lovely staff polite, pleasant and sincere. Room, whilst a period hotel was classic, casual and comfy beautiful window with an amazing sunrise view to wake up to. Bathroom again period style, most amazing bath in my life, clawfoot tub . Shower takes getting used to but bath......( hand held shower perhaps would be a nice touch ) Feeling of a country retreat while still in an urban yet quaint walkable town. Nice parking area, felt safe and secure. Forewarn no microwave or fridge ( historical ) If anything, would recommend an ice machine. Would all in all say, maybe my new favorite retreat , very happy to have had the experience. Looking forward to many seasonal getaways st this lovey hotel.

Historic charm coupled with contemporary comfort, hotel Fauchere has it all. A great little getaway for couples… Bar Louis on site, Delmonico restaurant on site. Food was great. Steeped in history, take some time to chat up the bartender, Bob and inquire about the history of the famous Andy Warhol/John Lennon pitcher at studio 54. And if you like martinis, he makes a great one! A great recommendation and hope to go back.

Hotel Fauchere is a historic building, with a wonderful history. It’s located in the center of Milford, a very walkable town, despite a heavily trafficked Broad St. My ‘superior’ room was modest, but clean, quiet and comfortable. Club Louis was closed, which was a little disappointing. My only complaint is the sales people lingering in the back sitting room of the hotel trying to sell ‘vacation club’ memberships. I thought that was a little tacky, and disrupted the ambience. Very nice staff. I hope the Hotel Fauchere continues to be well looked after. I would visit again.

I’m surprised others haven’t mentioned this as it didn’t seem to be an outlier event. There is a bar across the street called Jive. We stayed on a recent Friday night. Our room was street side. We basically had a band in the room for 3 hours from 7-10pm. At 10pm, they lower garage doors which drowns some of the sound out but there were drunk people coming in and out til at least midnight. This is obviously not in control of the hotel, nor is the fact that church bells ring every hour starting at 5am (on a Saturday morning no less so perhaps several days of the week). Pretty frustrating experience if you wanted some peace and quiet. Staff didn’t seem very sympathetic about it when mentioning the situation more than once. Be mindful. Definitely ask not to be on the street side. The rest of the hotel is as described. Nice room. Good restaurant. Enjoyable breakfast. Clean. The real test is, would I go back? Sadly, I doubt it. It wasn’t a relaxing peaceful visit in the room. I’m pretty sure they could’ve moved us as well as it seemed like a quiet night, no pun intended, at the hotel. If it was quiet, I certainly would however.

We stumbled on this hotel gem while searching a list of Chateaux et Relais in the region. While Fauchere is no longer claims this distinction, my wife and I though its appearance, condition, service, and restaurant were remarkably pleasant. The best aspects were the size and quiet of our room (#11), the attentive staff at the front desk who offered help on dinner recommendations or where to keep out bikes, and the dining room setting for the complimentary breakfast. Also worth mentioning is the ease of parking in the lot behind the hotel and the perfect location proximate to eating and shopping. We were disappointed that the Bar Louis was temporarily closed owing to a very recent pick burst. To their credit, there were no signs of what we were told was extensive damage. I would recommend this location for a quiet couples getaway from the city where it is easy to experience a quiet, polite, lifestyle for a while.
