My husband and traveled to Milford PA to have a nice getaway for our wedding Anniversary. We wanted to stay at a place that was pet friendly, felt Covid-19 safe and where we could enjoy the autumn leaves. We had a great stay, the only downside was noise on Saturday night from outside a local bar across the street. The other nights during our stay the bar was quiet. We stayed in room #1 on the ground floor. The room is on the smaller side, but comfortable. Every once in a while we could hear noise from the room above, but wasn't that big if deal. It's difficult to travel during a global pandemic, but we felt safe our entire stay. All staff members wore mask as well as other guest, who were good about wearing mask in the public areas. We brought our 12 years old dog (Labrador Retriever) with us and she was given star treatment. There was a water dish already in our room, she received a bone at check-in and she received lots of attention from the staff throughout our stay. The continental breakfast was nice, we were able to eat outside on the front porch, which had heaters. All tables were spaced far apart, so again we felt safe. The second day of our stay, the hotel owner introduced himself to us and gave us lots of great tips on places to check out during our stay, very appreciated. On our Anniversary, we order dinner for pickup at a nearby restaurant and ate in our room. Later that evening we had drinks and a dessert on the front porch under a heaters. We received fantastic service. We also brought our dog out with us and she was offered a bowl of water. We haven't been out for drinks since the start of the pandemic and felt safe outside at the hotel bar. It's been a strange year, but we had a great trip and look forward to returning some day in the future.

Hotel's Favorite
My wife and I stayed for two nights over the 2020 Labor Day weekend. We had never visited the Pocono region of Pennsylvania, so we decided to give Milford a try after reading of its charm and nearby outdoor activities in the Delaware Gap National Recreation Area. The Hotel Fauchère was the highlight of our stay. A comfortable, well appointed room and attentive hotel staff. Fine dining on the veranda capped it off. So good, we almost wanted to keep it our secret. However given the difficulties that we all have experienced this year, it is more important to share some pleasant news. See you next time!

We were celebrating the 30th anniversary of the day we met. It was a surprise trip, as one of us planned and executed it- and the other, sat back on the 2 1/2hr drive from Philadelphia wondering where we were going. But we'd wanted to check out the hotel for several years, having heard good things about it- as well as the town of Milford. Everything met or exceeded our expectations. From the friendly welcome of the staff, including the owner of the hotel to the spacious and comfortable rooms. The bathroom and bed was especially nice. Our meals were wonderful. Dinner on The Porch and breakfast in the Delmonico Room upon checking out. A highlight was having S'mores in the fire pit in the garden. The history of the hotel, and the town of Milford was a treat as well. Grey Towers and driving/hiking in the Delaware Water Gap definitely recommended. Thank you to all for making this special day for us, exactly that!

Our family occupied 2 rooms in the hotel during our stay. It was during a difficult time because of the precautions of the Covid pandemic. The staff was helpful and solicitous under the unusual circumstances- but that said- there were a lot of things that could be improved upon. Examples- the plug outlets in the room were often located behind a desk or behind a chair- and were difficult to reach for all the devices which many travellers have these days (cell phone, laptop computers etc.). Furthermore, many of the plug outlets did not work (more than 2/3 did not work). I had to carry the included coffee maker across the room and lay it on the floor in order to access a working outlet. Our shower was a clawfoot bathtub with a shower head located right in the center of the tub. It was a 24" "leap" over the tub wall to get in and out of the shower- which is perilous for slipping and falling. Furthermore, the curtains for the shower did not adequately keep the shower water inside- so everytime we took a shower- the entire bathroom got completely soaked- and we had to mop up the water after. The sheer curtains facing the back of the property fell off in my hands when I went to open the curtains. I replaced the curtains, but this is not something a guest should have to do. Finally, some of the furniture looks a little old and threadbare - and should be reconditioned or replaced. Positives- were the location in the heart of town, and very good yogurt and granola for breakfast. Finally, this place is really expensive for what you get. $450 for a weekend night, and $350 for weekday seems high.

We are sorry this guest was disappointed. There is nothing wrong with the electrical outlets in the room; they all work, but some have the top plug connected to a wall switch. And some light fixtures have a switch on the fixture and the wall itself, so both need to be on for it to work. We have two rooms in the hotel with the classic Victorian-style clawfoot tub, which is indeed more complicated for a shower. Our policy is to confirm guests understand this when they book either of those rooms. The curtain rod was loose and fell off; it was repaired when the guest brought it to our attention. We appreciate the guest's kind comments about our staff and breakfast. We agree these are trying times in the midst of the Covid pandemic and we are doing everything possible to ensure all guests have a peaceful and enjoyable visit.

We planed a day trip from Westchester to see a friend play at Jive Bar in Milford PA - we were exploring a map of the area when we saw this unique and gorgeous historic hotel - imagine our great surprise to find that that welcome dogs!! We immediately booked a room- and what a fantastic experience! It’s beautiful, spacious gothic charm, very clean and bright, the staff are solicitous and are dog lovers (“We love dogs here”) the rooms are lovely, and the bathroom has a rain shower, heated floor, and heated towel rack! There are fluffy robes in the closet. When we came upstairs we found a plate with dog biscuits for Vizor and a Nespresso coffee maker for us to use! The bed is comfy and luxurious with old wide hard wood planks in the floor. We dined at Bar Louis downstairs- a small nouveau restaurant sparsely decorated with large photos of Andy Warhol and famous people (John Lennon, Salvatore Dali) on the walls. The mussels in white sauce were fabulous. Continental breakfast in the Delmonico Room is included with your room - we decided to splurge and order from the menu - wow! Great omelette and great steel cut Oates - enough to bring home for breakfast for the next two days! And there’s great little shops to poke around in and I hear lots of hiking in the area. We’ve never had such a warm, upscale experience with our dog - we will definitely be back! I can not recommend this highly enough!

We're so delighted you found us and enjoyed your stay! You and Vizor are welcome to return anytime, as it is very true we enjoy dogs participating in the luxuries of the hotel. In warmer months you'll often find (well-behaved) dogs dining with their families on our front porch of the hotel, from the menu of Bar Louis! Dogs and their families can also enjoy the front porch next door at our sister restaurant, 403 Broad. There are many hiking trails and places for dogs to enjoy as well. Thank you for taking the time to post your experience, we truly appreciate it and hope you'll return soon!
