Not sure why anyone would stay anywhere else. There is a secure indoor area for the bikes, great rooms, and great food all at one stop. Brooke gave us a full tour and was an awesome host. After the climb from Cumberland it is nice to settle in and not have to go out!!

My friends and I were heading down the C & O trail and we picked this unique B & B to stay. It was clean, comfortable and affordable. I recommend it for any type of traveler. You have many options for room size as well.

We arrived wet and cold on our bikes. There was plenty of room to store our bikes and lay out gear to dry in the large basement. The room was quaint and warm. We had wifi, tv, and use of large kitchen. Could not have asked for anything more.

I stayed two nights while biking and was shuttled back each day. The room ( the whole building) is so interesting and uniquely decorated. Very interesting history. My room was very comfortable, had everything I needed, including a huge bathroom and nice hot shower. Every person on the staff of the hotel and restaurant was extremely welcoming and friendly. They... More

We arrived on a Saturday late afternoon to stay at the Trailside B and B. There were 6 family and friends, bicycling the Great Allegheny Passage from Pittsburgh to Cumberland. We came in from some rain late afternoon. Our rooms were very welcoming and there was someone there to check us in at the called ahead time. Our two rooms... More

We stayed at the hotel (not the Trailside B&B) during the first week in October. It's a unique property, sort of a cross between a hotel and a hostel, as some rooms share communal - but very well appointed - bathrooms. There is also a large common room with a Keurig coffee machine and kettle, as well as a small... More

The hotel, not the trailside b&b, was a great facility. It's an old three story building with very much old furniture and articles to look at. My brother and I stayed in the Hoover Suite that was simply beautifully spacious and is rumored to have ghosts, none of which I saw. I was, however, so tired from the excellent riding... More

It was the night of September 20th, I was struggling to finish the 55 mile hike on my trike, but the encouraging words of Brooke, the night manager of the Morguen Toole Company and Trailside B&B urged me on. I had called in desperation since my headlight went out and I was guiding myself along the darken path with the... More

This B/B has 2 locations, one downtown Meyersdale and the other near the Great Allegheny y Passage. While the location near the trail is convenient for those biking or using the trail, it s pretty far from town and away from most of their other facilities like their very good restaurant. In addition, it is quite a downhill trek to... More

Brooke was a delightful hotel manager. The rooms are in a historic building that has been renovated. They're very spacious and have tall ceilings. They cater to bicycle riders on the Great Allegheny Passage bike trail with secure bike storage on the ground floor. The restaurant and pub are beautifully and creatively conceived and have live music some nights. Both... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Hotel at Morguen Toole provides guests with a unique experience that isn't found anywhere else. The huge brick building was built in the late 1800's as a morgue and tool shop. The current owners bought the sadly neglected building in 2011 and have restored the beauty and history. The lodging is primarily on the 3rd floor and include everything from hostel style bunks to elegant 4 room suites. ... more   less
