We arrived on a Saturday late afternoon to stay at the Trailside B and B. There were 6 family and friends, bicycling the Great Allegheny Passage from Pittsburgh to Cumberland. We came in from some rain late afternoon. Our rooms were very welcoming and there was someone there to check us in at the called ahead time. Our two rooms... More

We stayed at the hotel (not the Trailside B&B) during the first week in October. It's a unique property, sort of a cross between a hotel and a hostel, as some rooms share communal - but very well appointed - bathrooms. There is also a large common room with a Keurig coffee machine and kettle, as well as a small... More

The hotel, not the trailside b&b, was a great facility. It's an old three story building with very much old furniture and articles to look at. My brother and I stayed in the Hoover Suite that was simply beautifully spacious and is rumored to have ghosts, none of which I saw. I was, however, so tired from the excellent riding... More

It was the night of September 20th, I was struggling to finish the 55 mile hike on my trike, but the encouraging words of Brooke, the night manager of the Morguen Toole Company and Trailside B&B urged me on. I had called in desperation since my headlight went out and I was guiding myself along the darken path with the... More

This B/B has 2 locations, one downtown Meyersdale and the other near the Great Allegheny y Passage. While the location near the trail is convenient for those biking or using the trail, it s pretty far from town and away from most of their other facilities like their very good restaurant. In addition, it is quite a downhill trek to... More

Brooke was a delightful hotel manager. The rooms are in a historic building that has been renovated. They're very spacious and have tall ceilings. They cater to bicycle riders on the Great Allegheny Passage bike trail with secure bike storage on the ground floor. The restaurant and pub are beautifully and creatively conceived and have live music some nights. Both... More

The best thing about the Trail Side B&B is that you don't have to ride back up the very steep hill from town. This B&B is in an old house and has been nicely converted into a B&B. When we stayed there on our southward trek on the GAP cycle path we were the only guests and had the entire... More

Thank you for staying with us! We appreciate the feedback from all our guests. We are always looking for suggestions to help us improve. We do list which rooms include a private bath and which rooms share one on our website. Maintenance has already addressed the slow drain and is scheduled to hang hooks in the rooms. And thank you... The name Morguen Toole Company refers to the history of the place. It used to be a factory that made caskets and became a morgue. Thus Morgue N Tool, get it? The decorating scheme for this historic brick building is 19th century funky brick stuff. If you are craving the sterile predictability of a Marriott, this is not your place.... More

Thank you for the wonderful review! We are glad you appreciate the uniqueness and history we are trying to preserve. We are sorry you had an issue with the A/C. We can't avoid breakdowns that will occur but we try to be prepared for when they do happen. We invite you to stay with us again, either at MTC or... More

One of our family's favorite stays along our bike journey down the C&O canal was the Morguen Toole hostel. Cavernous, with may hallways, stairs and room, each with stories to tell from years past. The first floor is a pub, second floor is a restaurant, and the third is lodging but used to be a mortuary. Really, really cool building with... More

Spent the night at the Trailside Bed & Breakfast in the Nicholson Room. The room was clean & tastefully decorated. Nice old woodwork throughout. We were the only ones at the B&B so it was quiet except for the train. It seems to run every hour. The air conditioner wasn't great, but livable. The breakfast was good & cooked by... More
