So lovely! Great owners and fabulous, unique home with attention to every detail. Super clean! We felt instantly at home and at the same time constantly delighted by the many treasures this B&B features. Absolutely unique and very creative!
Loved the beautiful gardens and the relaxing atmosphere! Roland and Anh were excellent hosts, personable, and super attentive! They were very accommodating. The breakfast was delicious and was made to order! The bed was super comfortable. The room was spacious and the decor was eclectic. The stained glass, pottery, and art is all from local artists. The gardens on the property rivaled Longwood with the rock garden in full bloom. This was located a few miles from Media, Chanticleer Gardens, and Villanova, which made it a perfect stay for graduation weekend. I highly recommend staying here if you are looking for a place in the area.
My sister and I stayed at the Alpenhof B&B for a family getaway, and we were very pleased! Anh and Roland are friendly and gracious hosts. The decor is charming and elegant, with so many beautiful works of art in every room. The beds are comfortable, the bathrooms are ultra-modern, and everything is spotlessly clean. We were able to relax and chat sitting by the pool in the afternoon and in the lovely living room in the evening. Breakfast was delicious and they were able to accommodate our dietary restrictions (vegetarian and gluten-free, soy-free). We highly recommend the Alpenhof B&B!
The Alpenhof is a magic place. They are not rooms, but experiences, decorated with hand-stenciled borders and art works from around the world. The highpoint, of course, are the hosts Anh and Roland – gracious, accommodating, thoughtful, world-traveled, oozing with creativity, and who obviously love extending an extravagant hospitality to their guests. After a few days with them, my wife left saying “I wish we could live here and Anh could be my best friend!” Everything Roland touches – from his handmade life-edge dining table to his best-ever omelets – shines with glowing accomplishment. And the amazing thing, their rooms cost about the same or less than a simple 2-star hotel room. Why would you ever go anywhere else? We have stayed a number of times and so have other guests we have met at the dining table. The Alpenhof is not a traveler’s means to an end, but an end in itself. Go there just to experience it. On a scale of 1 to 10, I rate it 100!…
We spend two nights in this amazing B&B. It is a converted hay barn, but the décor is spectacular. Rooms are on various levels, with a great room with fireplace on the lower floor. Our room had a king-size bed, comfortable arm chair and a pretty view of the valley below. The en suite bathroom was very nice. Our host was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was fantastic! We could order from a limited menu so we could get a meal that met our wants and needs. There is a swimming pool that would be lovely in the summer time. The location is very convenient. We loved our stay at the Alpenhof!
This family run gem is the perfect little getaway spot. The rooms are great, the grounds are beautiful and the owners are wonderful! Highly recommend for a romantic stay or just a really nice place to recharge. In warmer months the pool is a very welcome spot nestled in a serene garden setting. Looking forward to heading back!
We recently stayed at Alpenhof on a trip to Longwood Gardens to see the holiday lights. It is truly one of the nicest B&B's we have ever stayed at. It is located in a quiet neighborhood approximately 5 minutes from Route 1. It is near Ridley Creek State Park which is very lovely. The home is a restored stone barn that has been in the family for many years. It is beautifully decorated and is immaculately clean. We had absolutely to concerns with COVID. The hosts are both wonderful. Roland welcomed us and gave us a quick tour, and he answered all questions that he had about the area. Anh was delightful to talk to about her life story. Our room was very cozy, and it had a large flat-screen TV, and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was delicious. We started with a variety of pastries and fresh fruit. Then you get to select the main items off of a menu which included eggs, French toast, waffles, etc. Beverages are also included. What a wonderful way to start the day! We would highly recommend Alpenhof to anyone looking for a weekend getaway, or for anyone traveling in the area who enjoys a unique experience. We hope to return in the summer to see their beautiful garden in bloom.…
We could not have enjoyed ourselves more at Alpenhof, a very convenient location just outside Philadelphia. Owners are a delightful couple and genuinely wonderful hosts. Property is unique with a pool and beautiful garden, loved by butterflies and hummingbirds. Breakfast was one of the finest we have ever had. We stayed in the Master Suite and could not have been happier. We will return, for sure.
This is a sweet, lovely and delicious place to stay. Our room was impressive and impeccable. The bed is one of the best I have ever slept on and I am determined to find one for my house now! The breakfast was so good (I asked for gluten free and had the most incredible sourdough gf bread) and the owners were kind and there for us for every need. We will be back and we will recommend!
My friend and I enjoyed Alpenhof, located in an excellent quiet location, yet in close proximity to Philadelphia. The swimming pool is a definite plus in the summer. The garden/ grounds were lush and beautiful, and the B&B is an amazing converted barn with eclectic furnishings. Delicious breakfast with a choice of menu items. The waffles were amazing! Our room was comfortable with what appeared to be a newly remodeled bathroom. Lovely hosts who made our stay memorable. Highly recommend this B&B.
