Went for 4th of July weekend and had no trouble getting a room. When we got there the room was newly renovated. Our stay was clean and comfortable and the staff was very pleasant. Will definitely be staying there on our next trip to Ohiopyle.

Arriving late at night in the rain, we were happy to be warmly greeted and given a nice room with 2 beds. It was cold and wet outside but cosy inside. The rooms have no frills but all that's needed is present. Good shower. For breakfast there is a place on the other side of the road. I hope this... More

We loved staying here to avoid a chain and support locals. They keep the place very clean. We had a fridge and microwave. Sat by the pool out front in the evening. Great weather, but a lot of traffic. The rooms are in the back of the property so it was plenty quiet.

We were going to sees friends band at Lady Luck Casino and wanted to stay close since the weather was awful everywhere else was sold out. Since they do not have online reservations you to have to call them on the phone to reserve a room. Glad I did. We had a basic queen room which was extremely clean, newly... More

Very clean and roomy enough. Excellent value and close proximity to the Nemacolin Resort which has a lot of activities and good restaurants, plus casino ! Willing to come back if in this area again. Paid less than $70 including tax. Close to Fallingwater.

My husband and I plus some friends stayed here for a mid-week night while we were on a motorcycle trip. We had three rooms total (4, 11 and 14) and all were very clean and unlike chain hotels they were all decorated slightly different. The rooms all had shower stalls which is fine with me; I don't often take a... More

The National Trail Motel is not your grandfather's motel. It is your great-grandfather's motor inn or motor court before the word "motel" was coined. The room was small, but the bathroom made the room look spacious. Twin beds were right inside the door and there was an oversized chest of drawers and a bureau. The 25 inch picture tube television,... More

As you probably know, there is not a whole lot of places to stay in Markleysburg and out of the places I saw, this was the cleanest/neatest looking place as far as curb appeal goes. As for our stay, I couldn't have asked for better accommodations from a 5 star hotel. The owner's were very nice and understanding, our room... More

I've reviewed Nemacolin before, so my readers know how crazy I am about the place. When I don't have $400 to spend on lodging there, I always choose the National Trail motel. At around $60 a night, I'm five minutes away from Nemacolin at a clean, safe hotel with amazing mountain breezes blowing softly through my window. Highly recommended.
