We can't express enough positivity about our overnight stay. Luckily, we had the entire house to ourselves and it was perfect. The hosts were a lot of fun to talk to and the food was AMAZING and abundant! They were fun and laid back, and they made us feel very welcome. The soaking tub was nice and relaxing, and they even had bubble bath ready for us. The fireplace in our room heated it up nicely and it was nice to sit in a robe they provided reading by the fire. Marietta is beautifully lit at Christmas, and the location of the house afforded us a view to enjoy the lights while relaxing after dinner in the reading room. In the morning, we had a brisk walk to the rail trail which was only a short two blocks away. We will definitely be back when the weather warms up so we can enjoy more jaunts around town and bike the Northwest Rail Trail. Thanks Ascot House! ~Julie and Matt Fisher

Lovely old house chock full of antique furniture and furnishings. High 4 poster bed was super comfortable and my wife had to drag me out in the morning. Great breakfast cooked to order with choice of eggs or quiche perfectly cooked bacon, delicious yogurt and berry parfait served in pink depression glass compotes and freshly made home fried potatoes with onion. A unique baked oatmeal with syrup and yougart and choice of breads. The owners were super nice, friendly accommodating and hospitable. Chris was on the board of the historical society and very knowledgeable about the town. Bonnie is also a wealth of knowledge and headed the town's holiday tour of homes for several years. The grounds and gardens are beautiful and the inn is a block from the river trail. Spotlessly clean and neat. The train didn't bother us. We were so happy that we promised to return next year when we visit relatives in the area. High speed internet and modern TV with Hulu. We were able to add two guests for breakfast for a very reasonable fee.

We just returned from a lovely weekend at the Ascot B&B, a jewel in the middle of historic Marietta. You really can't go wrong here. It's a stately home with excellent hosts, Chris and Bonnie. It's a place where you are encouraged to use the common spaces as you would your home. You determine breakfast time and what you want. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful such that lunch was not necessary both days. The rooms are unique and decorated in the tone of the house. The location is perfect. The Northwest River Trail is steps away - you can store your bikes in the basement of the B&B. There are several good restaurants within walking distance. It was so nice to not have to get in a car. Although we did venture out to go to the Grandview Vineyard in Mt. Joy, about 20 minutes away for wine tasting.
Be mindful that some guest rooms are 2+ flights up if that might be an issue for you (it wasn't an issue for us but did make us think twice to consider if the round trip to get something upstairs was worth it). The website descriptions do not always state the floor so you may want to call ahead to find out.

We had originally booked a night at the Ascot House for 2 but ended up having to bring 2 children. The hosts were amazingly accommodating and did everything thins they could to facilitate the last minute changes. The building itself and absolutely beautiful and you could spend a weekend just exploring it on its own. The hosts are beyond friendly and they are always happy to go out of their way to make you stay more enjoyable. The breakfast was fantastic and the beds and other facilities were top class.

We stayed here for a meeting and it was a great experience. Chris was responsive to all of our needs and wanted to make sure we had an excellent time. The breakfast he prepared was excellent as was his company.

The house is spacious and has lots of room for leisure. I stayed in the Dorset which was the economy room, so the bathroom was separate (unlike the other rooms where the bathroom is in the room or adjacent).

I will definitely stay here again. It was a great experience.

Bonnie and Chris did a great job welcoming us, showing us around and making us feel at home. The house is elegant, charming and comfy. There were 10 of us in total, and everyone was delighted with their accommodations. People really enjoyed the Jacuzzi tubs. The beds were very comfortable, and the linens were wonderful. We had come together as a group of neighbors that meet on a regular basis to serve our neighborhood and wanted a different environment to reflect, study and plan together - and the Ascot House was the perfect place for the job. Bonnie and Chris were very supportive in assuring we had the perfect place (both the patio and the library) to gather. We also enjoyed gathering at the dining room table for games on Saturday evening.
The garden is a beautiful and magical place with lots of pockets, tables and paths, and twinkle lights at night! It was the perfect place for my morning coffee!
Walking down the street is such a treat if you enjoy the whimsy and charm of lots of vintage planters and decor. We enjoyed the Riverwalk and got to see an eagle and a herring. Some of our group went to the Amish Market during a break and bought some delicious snacks.
Most everyone in the group said they are planning to return. It would be great to have more time to soak up all the history and the gardens in of the area.
Thank you Chris and Bonnie for

An early American home that has been preserved and converted into a B&B by Chris and Bonnie. Originally run by a British expatriate, the couple really makes you feel at home. There are also some lovely reception rooms. All the rooms are spacious and clean. Chris & Bonnie really make you feel like you are at home. The American breakfast is a real treat. There are not a lot of restaurants and bars in Marietta but the ones that are there are fun and everything is reasonably priced. I am really glad that I came to the Ascott Houe but am sad because I don't know when I will come back to this pretty town and the Ascot House again.

I have been traveling all over the world for my work, met many beautiful people, but the owner of the Ascot House were the absolute BEST, ever !
The B&B is just adorable, but what makes the real difference are Bonnie and Chris.
They went over and beyond welcoming, accommodating, helpful in all the way to make us feel home, like part of the family.
Bonny's breakfast is top professional bakery ! Nothing is better that starting the day after a breakfast like that.
The fireplace is every room is the perfect touch of coziness .. super romantic.
I hope I will return in Lancaster to enjoy Ascot House in a romantic way (instead of working )
Believe me; Ascot House is THE PLACE to stay in Lancaster.

We ended up at Ascot through some unexpected circumstances but were so happy that we did. Every detail was perfect. We were delayed due to car trouble and bad weather, Bonnie and Chris were flexible and accommodating to our unexpected schedule. They welcomed us, spent time showing us around, and made us feel completely comfortable when we arrived. The house, rooms, English gardens, and incredible breakfasts were all outstanding. The rooms are very clean and spacious, each decorated with its own theme and charm. beautiful fireplaces and historic decor throughout the house, while still having all of the modern conveniences of a great B&B. We stayed three nights and enjoyed every aspect of our stay here. Bonnie and Chris are wonderful people and great hosts.

Charming historic bed and breakfast. Convenient location to stroll multiple shops, restaurants and local taverns. Owners are extremely friendly and help provide information and points of interest for the local area. Breakfast options were accommodating to all diets and food was excellent. Highly Recommend!

Wendy is very accomodating about breakfast, and it usually lasts until 9am. She will do anything she can, within reason, to make your stay as wonderful as possible. The B &B is located in a very small town, around 3000, and it is very relazing! If you go around late spring, early summer, Wendy's garden is a wonderful place to sit outside and enjoy the peace and quiet, as well as the scenery. We've never done a massage but like the other lady replied I believe you can order a massage in your room. I would also recommend getting out and seeing the area. It is a truly beautiful area that in itself allows you to escape from your busy life and relax. Hope this helps!
