We recently stayed with Pam ,and Dallas to celebrate our anniversary. Words cannot describe the hospitality ,and the comfort of staying at the house. We completely enjoyed our stay in the Vanderbilt suite, the bed was comfortable the pillows were fluffy ,and the sheets were feather soft. In the morning Pam greeted us with a fabulous breakfast made with love. There are so many choices however, when you find the best you just stick with it. The porch is also very relaxing , as well as the ambience. We both appreciate the thought that Pam,and Dallas put into making sure that all of the guests are well accommodated, and treated with care. One last thing we always tell our friends to try a bed ,and breakfast, and honestly this place sets the standard. Thank you both for making our anniversary special, and enjoyable 🤗.

We recently celebrated our 40th anniversary at the B.F. Hiestand Bed & Breakfast and couldn't have been happier. This bed & breakfast is located in a well-maintained, gorgeous old house in the historical small town of Marietta very near the Northwest River Trail along the Susquehanna River. The bed & breakfast owners, Pam and Dallas Fritz, were very welcoming and made us feel comfortable throughout our stay. Pam's breakfasts were outstanding and she took time to chat with us each morning to start our days off right. We stayed in the beautiful Susquehanna Room which had an awesome rainforest shower. However, I have a feeling you can't go wrong staying in any of the bedrooms at the B.F. Hiestand House. I can't recommend this bed and breakfast enough!

Pam and Dallas, owners and hosts of the BF Hiestand House, made us feel right at home for our two night, midweek stay in their lovely historic B&B. Their location is great for exploring the Marietta, Columbia, and Elizabethtown areas. Historic Market Street provides lots of architectural interest, walkable dining options, and access to the river and Northwest Lancaster County River Trail. A short drive takes you through beautiful farmland and on to lots of interesting venues and activities - bike trails, hiking trails, breweries, museums — we needed a longer stay! The B&B was comfortable and well accessorized, with a front porch that screamed “sit and relax”! Breakfast was hearty and served at time of your choosing. Our room featured hand painted french tilework in the home’s original bathroom, stained glass windows, and cozy bathrobes. Pam and Dallas were very thoughtful in offering suggestions about the area and accommodating our bicycling storage needs in the torrential rain that hit on day one of our stay. We hope to return!

Booked Cannon Cottage for my birthday trip
First when I looked at the website it appeared like the place was totally booked which gave me feeling of being popular and I chose this place on that base where in fact we were the only couple most days of our 6 nights stay when looking at the pictures of the cottage it looked like a good size room what a surprise to find that the table that supposedly allowed to have breakfast delivered to the room could only accommodate one person even though there were two chairs but one was blocked by the very heavy armchair however the worst part of it was that there is no door to the bathroom area meaning one open space I don’t care how long one is married I don’t feel like going to the bathroom a front of my spouse grouse! Pam’s explanation was that they had to do it that way for the wheelchair however there is no way you can get through the front door with the wheelchair or maneuver in that room so it is strange design they provided a screen for privacy?!?!Seriously!!!
The breakfast was okay however one day it was oatmeal which my husband won’t eat he was not offered anything else I gave him my toast the last thing was the place is right next to very busy highway with heavy traffic starting 5AM super noisy they do allow dog in the cottage but no real space to walk the dog so it was disappointing experience
Our first trip to Marietta and probably the last

Dear Eva, I am so sorry you did not enjoy your stay here. Since you were a former hotel manager, I am very surprised you did not mention any of this to me during your stay. I truly would have moved you to another room or helped you find another place to stay in the area had I known. My best, Pam

My Labrador, Daisy, and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the BF Hiestand House B&B. Beautifully restored, the parlors were inviting as was the enormous front porch with its lovely area to sit. Pam and Dallas and Pam's mother were very friendly and especially made an effort to chat with guests at the breakfast table. Since breakfast times are staggered to keep guests safe, this was especially appreciated by all the guests. The Blakemore Room was comfortable, and the bed was just right with its ironed soft sheets. Breakfast was delicious, and Pam made a special effort to accommodate my gluten free requirements. I highly recommend this B&B! The town, Marietta, was charming and seems to have something fun to do every weekend. The weekend I was there was a riverfront festival and also artists painting in plein aire. We look forward to returning!

A nice family run bed and breakfast in the historic Rivertown of Marietta, PA. Clean rooms with amenities are complimented by a great breakfast selected from several offerings served in room or in the Dining Room. B&B is located three blocks from the Northwest River Trail and Historic Musselman-Vesta Iron Furnace building and site located along the Susquehanna River and blocks from the historic business district with shops and dining options for visitors to this scenic town. Owners are friendly and helpful to their guests in this pet friendly accommodation. Well worth a return visit when in the area.

My husband and I stayed two nights at the B.F. Hiestand House. We could not recommend it more highly. We were welcomed in and felt we were in the home of friends. The room was comfy, and the home, especially the incredible veranda was so enjoyable. We relaxed as we sat out on that veranda and chatted in the only way you can when you truly feel comfortable. Eating breakfast and then drinking coffee outside surrounded by beautiful flowers was lovely. We travel with two small spaniels and booking a dog friendly room was just perfect. They too enjoyed the veranda and quickly took to our hostess.! Pam and Dallas are everything you look for in proprietors: they are top of the list in hospitality!! Please visit them!

Pam and Dallas were very accommodating. We were allowed to bring our 65 lb dog into a room not usually designated for pets. The private bath was great. The home itself is decorated beautifully and feels very comfortable. We stayed the weekend before the July 4th holiday so the property was fully booked (or nearly so). We had a blast with the other guests. There appears to be considerable variability in room size so be sure to specify your needs. Breakfast was very good but be aware that during the week, only a continental breakfast is served. We would return if the occasion presented itself.

We enjoyed our stay very much. The room was comfortable and clean. The location was perfect for our visit to the Lancaster area, within 30 -40 minutes of about anything we wanted to see. Pam and Dallas were wonderful hosts and provided a wonderful breakfast each day. Pam gave us great suggestions for attractions and events in the area. Highly recommend this B&B for your visit to Lancaster.

Great location in Marietta , and just a few miles down the road from the hustle and bustle of all the shops, restaurants and crowds. The hospitality and warmth of this bed and breakfast was stellar! Lots of places offer a good bed, sink and bathtub, but few places in my life have offered the feeling of being “like family” that B. F. Hiestand bed-and-breakfast offered.
The home is absolutely gorgeous. I was taken back by the beautiful architecture, crown molding and furnishings. The Hiestand ancestors would be very pleased with the maintenance of their treasured home. This was our first visit to a bed and breakfast, but most definitely will not be our last!
Don’t go to this place if you’re looking for something highbrow, go to this place if you want to feel like you came to a place that feels a bit like “home!”
Thank you Pam, Dallas and Mac for making our 30th Anniversary a memorable one. We plan to be back soon.
