My wife and I (and Jax the Maltese) spent two wonderful nights in the B.F. Hiestand House Bed & Breakfast. From our first interaction with Pam, one of the innkeepers along with Dallas, she treated us just like family. The home was magnificent and our dog-friendly room was great. Our breakfasts, prepared by Pam, were tasty and hit the spot before our long outings into Dutch Country. One of the things my wife had hoped to find was a quilt made by hand from the Amish Country. Pam took out time to designate several places where we could find what I was looking for. We found one at our first stop and quickly made a purchase. Thank you Pam! Jax had a great time too as he got lots of love from the innkeepers and guests. If we ever get back to the Dutch Amish Country, be sure to stay with Pam and Dallas at the B.F. Hiestand House Bed & Breakfast.

I believe this is the fifth time we have stayed and have enjoyed each of our stays. we typically come in October to enjoy all of the fall colors. Pam and Dallas are wonderful hosts and are very accommodating. We have met many wonderful people sitting around the breakfast table and we look forward to our next visit.

So glad we stayed at this wonderful B&B. Pam and Dallas were great hosts. Looked forward to the hearty breakfasts each morning. We brought our small dog Ollie along because they had a couple of rooms that allowed pets. Lots of attractions nearby with plenty of things to do. Look forward to returning here.

What a wonderful experience at the inn! The home is a step back in time. Beautifully decorated, warm and inviting. Our room had beautiful stained glass windows and was so comfortable and cozy. Pam and Dallas go above and beyond to ensure your stay meets your expectations. And the breakfast! 10 stars! Pam, everything was delicious. Thank you for sharing your home with us

From check in to check out, we had a great experience for our get away anniversary weekend in the Marietta/Lancaster, PA area. Pam and Dallas were super hosts and the bottom line is that our stay met or exceeded our expectations. Pam communicated well with us regarding reservations, check in, breakfast times and things to do in the area. The house is an older style, late 1880's that is beautiful and has many rooms from which to choose. Our room was clean and cozy, the bed very comfortable and bathroom well maintained and updated. They provided bottled water and glasses in the room, a very small 'fridge' in which to keep medicines if needed, and a TV (never used it). There was also a 'white noise' machine and earplugs available if necessary. However, even though all rooms were full on our last night, we could not tell there were any other guests there at night. Pam checked frequently to see if we needed our room or bath towels refreshed during our 3 night stay. Breakfasts were deliciously prepared by Pam, and she was wonderful about working with us regarding food allergies and ensuring all prepared food was safe in that regard. Pam and Dallas were awesome regarding great places to dine or activites or things to do or see in the area. The 'north river trail' is a short walk away and while we didn't bring bikes, it's a great walking/biking trail. Though it was not an issue for us, guests should be aware that because of the house's proximity to 2 busily travelled roads, they is an awareness of traffic noise at peak travel times. Finally, thought we didn't think to ask up front, once Pam realized we were retired military vetarans, she offered us a generous dicount! All in all, we would certainly stay there again and truly appreciated our hosts giving us outstanding service and gold star treatment.

Dear Scott and Kathy, What a pleasure it was to help you celebrate your anniversary! Though you have been all over the world with your military career, it was amazing to know we went to the same high school and were from the same area growing up! We appreciate our military and were happy to extend the discount. Kathy, your dietary restrictions were not a problem and I thank you for the advance notice. Unfortunately, over the 23 years we have been in business, River Road has become a very popular road due to all the developing in the area. It can be noisy during rush hour. We provide white noise machines and ear plugs in all of our guest rooms for added comfort for those that may need them. We look forward to seeing you in the future!

I chose BF Hiestand House, for spouse's surprise birthday getaway, based on the great reviews here. Excellent choice! The house is charming and well-appointed. Lots of "little" details that must only come from long experience in the business: mini-fridge for those needing to refrigerate medications, sleep machine and AC/USB outlets on the bedside table, bathrobes, flavorings for cold water drinks, light source in bathroom in case of AC outage. Loads of brochures with information on local attractions. Lots of things to do and see in surrounding area (Marietta and Columbia for us, plus a wonderful show at the Fulton Theater in Lancaster). Excellent restaurants and pubs not far away. (McCleary's was great!) The hosts, Pam and Dallas, are as nice as people you would want to meet! They are welcoming and friendly without being intrusive and they know the local area like the back of their hands. Breakfasts were splendid and unhurried. Adequate off street parking. Sure, some minor noise from the nearby highway and an odd train-whistle. but they are no match for the very comfortable beds, silent room air conditioning and ceiling fan. In sum, a great place to relax. The owners are dog lovers and welcome pets - but from the cleanliness and sense of fresh country air that pervades the house you would never suspect that a canine friend might have been a guest. Very highly recommended! Thank you for a relaxing stay in your home.

Clean, comfortable, modern and generous amenities. Our 2 dogs were ecstatic with the room, easily accommodating the 4 of us! We stayed in the cottage; any room is great! Beautiful home and grounds. wonderful hostess, excellent breakfasts! Excellent, responsive service throughout our 5 night stay. Beautiful park with bike path and the Susquehanna River just 2 blocks away! Minutes from Lancaster and the Amish region. If you want relaxation in a beautiful location (have i used that word before?), book and enjoy!

Pam and Dallas (owners) were delightful! Very pleasant and hospitable. I accidently left my cell phone charger in the room and they offered to mail it back to me! Grateful. Breakfast was amazing! We enjoyed the company as well. The house is very charming and close to all the central sites. Information about all the local attractions was made available to guests in the main sitting area (water, tea 24/7). Appreciated this because we didnt really have an agenda for the weekend (options). Our room was cozy and had everything we needed. Initially, were worried about feeling cramped or "lack of privacy" (first time at a B&B)..but this was not an issue. Would definately stay here again. Free parking!

Pam and Dallas (Innkeepers) were absolutely the best! We felt welcome on day one. We felt so 'at home' during our stay and especially enjoyed the breakfasts that Pam served every morning. The best being the French Toast on day one! The bedrooms included every convenience needed. This B&B was central to all of the sites. We will definitely stay here again when we are in Marietta. Thank you Pam and Dallas, Teresa and Dave!

This was our first time staying at a B&B and we couldn't have asked for a better experience. Pam and Dallas are very kind, friendly people. We stayed for 2 nights and both mornings, breakfast was delicious. We stayed in the Vanderslice room. The king size bed was comfortable with plenty of pillows with varying firmness for personal preference. The sitting room was a nice place to relax. The tub/shower was gigantic. We spent mornings and evenings sitting on the beautiful front porch. We definitely recommend staying and will absolutely be back!
