My sister and I had a spa getaway at Bear Creek. We both had a facial (my sister with Abby and me with Kira). It was the best facial we have ever had. The hotel was wonderful. We enjoyed eating at Trails end and using the pool and hot tub. All employees were great, from the women at the front desk to the employees I passed in the hallways. I can't wait for my next trip.

Within an hour of booking a stay, Laura called us, gave us room with nicer view, ski lift tickets, reservations for the restaurant and all at a discount before we even packed our bags! It was a last minute trip, due to weather conditions my husband was unexpectedly off work, so we booked this and am super impressed with the service all before getting out the door. Hoping our in person experience is even half this good!

There are lots of amenities here, and the outdoor heated pool is very nice. The location is good also, with nice scenery if you don't mind the ski runs, with their accompanying lifts and snow machines, cutting through the landscape. However, everything else has disappointed. First, we tried hiking the long trail around the property and found that the map they hand out does not match the trail in a number of spots. It appears the trail has been moved in spots but the map and trail markings have not been updated. Annoying and potentially dangerous. The food at the cafe is limited to burgers and a couple of sandwiches. Stay with the sandwiches, as my burger was tough and dry (clearly from a frozen patty) and the bun was stale. The fitness center had no towels, no water, and the bike and elliptical were disconnected. Even my wife who likes a harder mattress than I do, thought the bed was too hard, and the pillows were ridiculously bad. The first night we were here, there was a problem in someone's room--we never did hear exactly what happened--that set off the building's fire alarm. Everyone was evacuated at about 1 a.m. Maybe 6 fire trucks eventually arrived along with 2 ambulances. After a couple of hours, we were allowed back in. There was no help from the staff other than a few water bottles handed out. It was pretty cold, so they should have had a system to hand out blankets or have a heated location to evacuate to. In the winter, this could have been a disaster. Furthermore, there was no information from the staff, just "get out" and then "get back in." Any proper business would have distributed an explanation and an apology the next day, but there was nothing. So overall, I'd say it's a nice facility with great potential, but unless you hear that the management has changed, I would stay away.

Hi ClairJ36, Thank you for sharing your experience at the Resort. I am truly sorry we did not meet nor exceed your and our expectations for your visit. I have shared your comments about our hiking trails and restaurants with the appropriate teams so we may improve upon our guests’ experiences immediately. Also, related to your temporary evacuation during your stay; guest health and safety is always going to be paramount to us and while we did have to evacuate for a time during your stay, we worked as quickly as possible with the first responders to return guests as quickly as we possibly could. We absolutely appreciate and thank you for your patience and understanding and are happy that at no time were guests’ at risk and we were able to safely continue full operations. We would like the opportunity to speak to you personally about your experiences as our goal is to deliver exceptional experiences to our guests while continuing to learn and improve. I am available at any time to discuss your visit so that we can correct mistakes and get better as a resort team. Thank you for sharing your comments and details and I truly look forward to speaking with you and hope to welcome you back in the future. With hospitality, Sean Lauth 610-641-1312 SeanL@bcmr.com

We enjoyed our time here and the outdoor (COVID friendly) activities. We had a good time, but felt that the website oversells the property and offerings. Rooms: we had a Queen, mountain view room. The room was very spacious with TONS of storage. They were visually clean, but very dusty, which make me wonder how "clean" everything else was. The view was great (facing the ski hills), but it was right above a ballroom (?) where a wedding was taking place. Music was quite loud until after 10pm. Walls were also very thin and you could hear everything above us and in the hallway. Activities: Activities were good for younger kids (under 10). ~ Geocaching - fun and filled some time during a light rain. ~ Paddleboats - kids LOVED, but the "rental" system is primitive. Families were taking more than 1 boat, so there were none left even though we had a key. Then you had to hand over your key because they "rented" the boats out to someone when no keys were left. That makes me uncomfortable, since I put my name/room on the sheet and I don't want to be held liable for damage. ~ Fishing great for the kids because it's a small lake and the fish were biting. Fun to let them catch and release. ~ Outdoor pool - heated and goes as deep at 5' 6". The kids loved it and mom/dad didn't mind staying longer to play because it was so warm. ~ ATV Ride: $45 per ride and the kids thought it was so fun! Definitely recommended for the 10 and under crowd. Dining: Options are very limited and difficult with a picky eater. There are basically 2 restaurants - a "quick serve" and sit down. We opted for the quick serve since it was easier with the kids, but then we basically ate cheeseburgers all weekend. The food was good, but the limited menu left us wanting more. We tried breakfast one morning, but since that is the ONLY place on site that serves, it was too crowded for us. Staff: The staff was the highlight of the trip - all very friendly and helpful. We had a bit of a back-and-forth making our reservation and ran into some issues, but everything was taken care of and we were happy with the end result. Overall, I would give a 3.5 star rating. We weren't disappointed with our stay, but we're not counting down the days to our next visit. With some improvements, this would easily be a 5-start resort and annual destination.
