We called last minute to see if a room was available, when we decided to stay over night after attending a wedding at Peddler's Village. Scott was kind enough to let us know that we were next on the list if there were any cancellations; and lucky for us there was. Excellent customer service all the way around from the... More

The 1740 House offers an outstanding getaway in a peaceful, serene setting, with a lot of history and character. The room was spotless and spacious, the staff is very courteous and helpful, and the breakfast is wonderful (especially the baked cinnamon french toast), but the real attraction for us was the scenery. If you want a tranquil vacation, this is... More

A room with a beautiful view of the Delaware River. We had cocktails at the Inn's private bar and walked down to the lower patio and sat at a table with an umbrella and great breeze. It was fun to watch all of the people floating down the river in inner tubes. Will definitely return with bikes! Small but very... More

If you are looking for a one or two day retreat in Bucks County, look no further. My wife and I booked a room at the 1740 House and cannot wait to return in the Fall. Each of the 25 rooms have Delaware River views, most with balconies for quiet reading and happy hour celebrations. You may choose to dine... More

What a wonderful stay I had here with my boyfriend. Our suite overlooked the water and we woke up to a wonderful breakfast everyday. The beds were clan and comfortable, each room has a private balcony, where I enjoyed some wine and a cigar, and there is great cable channels for when you want TV time. This hotel is close... More

We had pleasant anniversary stay at this small hotel new New Hope. It is located on the Delaware River. All rooms have views of the river. Ours had a nice small balcony where we were able to enjoy a glass of wine. The rooms are nicely appointed. The bathrooms are a bit dated but ok. Our second floor room on... More

Our room overlooking the river, the quiet walks along the canal, and friendly and welcoming staff, and the amazing breakfasts helped make our getaway ideal. Thanks, everyone at 1740 House. It was 100% super.

Though only a 35 minute drive away from home, staying at 1740 House felt like a grand vacation far far away from the everyday hustle and bustle. The innkeepers and all their staff were wonderful. Our first night we stayed in Rm23, which is a very nice room with a great balcony to sit on and watch the lazy river.... More

We were there for only one night but it was a time to remember. Our room was spacious and lovely. The view from our balcony was spectacular and the staff could not have been more courteous, helpful and friendly. Every one went over and above expectations to make us feel very special. Thank you for taking the time to write about your stay. Naturally, we're very pleased that you did. People come here with plans to hike, bike, or shop. Then they see the view from their room and will sometimes say, "Forget it. Just send up something cold to drink and we'll watch the river roll by." Room 23 is certainly... More

We booked 1740 Inn for a friend's wedding this past weekend and it was perfect from beginning to end. Pricing was extremely reasonable and I received an email the week of our stay, informing us of some local detours. We arrived about an hour after check-in and were greeted by the other wedding guests and the innkeepers with nothing but... More

There's no point in being in the hospitality business without being thrilled by what you have said about your stay. It was printed out at both HollyHedge and the 1740 House and shared with the staff. Thank you for taking the time. This world can be a hard place sometimes. You have lifted our spirits. Best Wishes From Us All,... More
