Detailed Reviews
Our second stay this year. Glad to meet new owners, friendly people who already showed enthusiasm and fresh ideas. This is a traditional B&B, a bit overdecorated for my taste, but very welcoming. The treasures include the restful backyard with its bubbling fountain and the side porch where you can read and watch the passersby on the main street. Easy private parking (come down Juniper Lane). We absolutely love the Lilac & Lace Suite because of the adjacent room with a daybed and windows on three sides, with a door to the upstairs porch/balcony. Be aware that breakfast has a short window, from 8:00 to 8:30 on our visits, though that may change with new owners (not sure). It's quiet yet you're right on the main street of Lititz, so can walk to restaurants, park, and Lititz Springs Park.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 night stay at the Alden House Bed & Breakfast in Lititz, PA. Brian and Jeff could not have been any more accommodating to their guests.
Breakfast was delicious with very nice conversation with Jeff and the other guests.
We enjoyed lunch on the side patio by the water fountain and the ability to just walk to many nice places in a town that we really enjoy. We also appreciated the close proximity to the very scenic Warwick to Ephrata Rail Trail that enabled us to safely ride our bikes to the trail entrance.
Brian and Jeff are working hard freshen up the appearance of rooms to make the experience even more attractive. We highly recommend the Alden House and look forward to visiting again.

Words cannot describe what a wonderful place the Alden House is. From the very moment we walked through the doors you could feel the love for this place - how meticulously maintained the house is to the wonderful folks who own/run it. Brian and Jeff make you feel at home and as if you have known them your whole life.
Our room was beautiful, large and had everything we could have needed.
Breakfasts were delicious (almost too much food!). Beverages were always available as well as a fridge to store left overs.
But the best part - THE SIDE/FRONT PORCH! We absolutely loved sitting there on the rockers, eating dinner, relaxing and watching the world go by.
We have stayed at many B&B's in Pennsylvania and surrounding states and I must stay, The Alden House has now taken first place among them, knocking off an old favorite!
This was our first time in Lititz but certainly not our last. Looking forward to returning to the Alden House and bringing some friends along with us.
Jeff and Brian, we wish you continued success and have no doubt that it will be a great success given the wonderful experience we had!

Stay someplace else!!! The only thing this bed and breakfast has going for it is the location. As for the hospitality and the breakfast - VERY disappointing. You stay at a bed and breakfast in Lancaster area for the ambiance, hospitality and usually a great breakfast, but this did not delivery. The breakfast is heated up in a microwave and is simply sweets and carbs. There is nothing wholesome or fresh about what they serve - first morning, we heard the microwave right before our plates came out and then saw the wrapped up pieces of what they called a pancake in a bag ready for the freezer. The second morning, the quiche was served cold. There is no attempt to make anything fresh that morning or to use any local ingredients from a fantastic area for fresh produce/veggies. When we asked what was going on in the area, the response we got was "I don't know, I am not from here." Some of this may have been due to the fact that the owners were away which is mystifying why you are in the hospitality business that thrives on the weekends and you are more interested in "getting away" from your business. Our experience is that the owners literally "phone it in" with what they serve and the service they provide. They should visit another bed and breakfast to see what a great experience is or learn to cook so they can serve a freshly prepared breakfast. It is the little touches (even fresh baked cookies instead of a package of oreos) that make a first class BnB - which this is NOT.
There are just too many great options in the region so suggest checking out one of those instead of this great disappointment. They charge rates for a premium bed and breakfast but then treat you like you are staying at a cheap Airbnb instead of a true Bed and Breakfast.

Hi Anne - This is Rachael - I have to be honest your review came as a surprise to me as when I checked in with you and your husband on Saturday morning all seemed well. We’re sorry to hear that you were disappointed by so many things. I can assure you that we do prepare items using fresh, local (if possible) ingredients and offer both sweet and savory breakfast items. You are correct - you happened to be there on a weekend when the owners were out of town, but Cindy (our baker and occasional server) and I were there so I’m not sure why this would have been an issue for you. As you can see from the other review since June 2021 - our guests, both new and returning, have had positive experiences staying with us.

We recently stayed at the Alden House for a wedding and could not have been happier with the house, room, or service.
Brian, the owner, went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable with great and prompt communication and extra service by finding a room for my son when his place was completely booked.
Breakfast each morning was delightful and there were a number of lovely places to sit and relax. I especially appreciate the self check-in, since I did not want to disturb anyone if my flight was late. Other nice touches included snacks, water/soda, newspapers, premium bedding and towels, and high end toiletries.
We can't wait to go back!

Everything about The Alden House is perfect. The reservation process is easy and questions answered promptly. The hosts are personable and accommodating and make you feel like family. Breakfast was delicious. Rooms are nicely appointed and comfortable. And a big deal for me -- everything was clean, clean, clean. I didn't even find dust on the baseboards or tops of mirrors (an often missed location for cleaning). Towels were big and soft. The location was perfect and they had off-street parking. Love it here and I wish I could move in (minus any of the upkeep).

LOVE LOVE LOVE the Alden House! Comfortable and spacious rooms for our whole family who was in Lititz for a wedding. We rented the whole house and ate breakfast together each day, visited on the patio into the evening, and felt so comfortable with the staff who assisted us. Because we were the Groom's family, we had flowers, drinks, party favors, etc that we brought back to the House. Brian and Jeff were helpful in allowing us to use refrigerator space, take away garbage, and send things to recycling. Just a great place to stay in a sweet and lovely town in PA. Highly recommend!!!

Feel in love with Lititz, PA a few years ago on a day trip. My wife and I vowed to return and make an extended stay. Extremely pleased that our return visit was at The Alden House! A most convenient location, within walking distance of shops, restaurants and attractions, also ample private parking behind the B&B. The inn keepers, Jeff and Brian, were the most hospitable hosts—warm and friendly. Their home is immaculate. Our suite was extraordinary. Cindy, baker/cook extraordinaire, made the most satisfying breakfasts, homemade breads and delicious treats! We can’t wait to return.

We met 2 other couples, old college roommates, for a couple of days in downtown Lititz during the Fire and Ice festival. The Alden house is perfectly situated near downtown. The house is beautiful; the rooms are clean, cozy, and well appointed. Jeff, the owner, was helpful in choosing lunch / dinner places, and in recommending things to do in Lititz. He even secured a deck of cards for us to use as we sat around in the evening to talk! We also made use of the porches since it’s been a warm February. We’ve been to lots of B&Bs; this one is a keeper.
