My wife, Bea, and I had a wonderful Covid-safe night at the Colonial House.
Not only was the proprietor super-friendly, but our two room suite was elegantly appointed and remarkably affordable. The yogurt, fruit, and muffin breakfast she left with us in our room when we checked in was more than acceptable considering the limitations of our present times.
Bea and I both appreciated that the owners hold off presently on renting their rooms till two days after they've thoroughly cleaned and disinfected them.

My husband and I had the most wonderful night away at the Colonial House. We stayed in the William Dice Suite which was so beautifully decorated and spacious! The king sized bed was one of the most comfortable that we had ever slept on and the separate sitting room was so cozy and quaint. The suite was so clean and orderly and there is literally everything that you need there for your stay.
The breakfast in the morning was amazing! Home made quiches and delicious blueberry muffins with a fruit medley on the side. It was such a treat to have this delivered to our room and the presentation was something out of Better Homes and Gardens.
Dawn was such a gracious and conscientious host and made our stay truly one of the best that we've ever experienced in a bed and breakfast. The location of the B&B is perfect and within close walking distance of every shop and restaurant in Ligonier.
It was truly a wonderful experience and one that we hope to repeat in the very near future :)

This was my second time staying in Ligonier, but my first time at Colonial House with Dawn! It was such an amazing stay, I would absolutely recommend staying here to anyone coming to the area. I was in Latrobe for a work event but the charm of Ligonier and Colonial House was worth the short drive.
I travel a lot for work and it was so much cozier to be in a home that has been decorated with love! I stayed in the Main Street Suite and it had an old fashioned bath tub that was so cute and amazing to relax in after a long day!
Dawn is the biggest gem of the Colonial House experience though! Communication was swift and so sweet always, she was so accommodating; even making my coworkers and me a little to go breakfast bag when we were checking out early in the morning! Highly recommend this quaint bed and breakfast experience!

This is a very homey, simple, no frills B&B one might expect in this small, working-class town. Dawn, the owner, is so sweet, gracious and accommodating. The vintage rooms with an eclectic collection of furniture and decorative items tell a story of another era. Each room is lovingly curated. The beds are very comfortable, bathrooms all up to date and stocked well, and overall, the inn is perfectly clean. I loved their breakfast arrangement with the Wicked Googly just down the street - a combo eatery/bar and bowling alley. It's a classic, and their breakfasts are fabulous. I can't wait to come back to this charming town, and I would look no further for memorable lodging than the Colonial House!

I love writing this review, because this B&B is so nice as is the host Dawn. I have stayed here several times over the last few months for my work. Staying away from home for work is always lonely, but Dawn makes it homey. The rooms are beautiful appointed, and decorated seasonally. The beds are comfortable, there is always music playing and the lights are on when I arrive. The public space and the private spaces are very clean and well cared for. All the rooms (that I have seen) are actually suites with a bedroom and living room with a t.v.
The Colonial House is located one block off of the "Diamond," the central part of of Ligioner, and is an easy walk to everything in town.

The owner Is very friendly and the house itself is clean and nice. The location is excellent. However we were disappointed. Breakfast was not served. The owner sent us to a bar down the street where the atmosphere was dark and the food was basic. The owner does pay for the breakfast however. Also we stayed in the attic suite which was very dark and the room air conditioner was very loud. Every few minutes it would kick in sounding like a weed eater. We did not sleep well. All that said if the owner starts serving breakfast again and the air conditioner in the attic is fixed, this would be a nice place to stay.

What a tremendous stay. My wife and I had never stayed at a B & B before and now we know what we’ve been missing. Dawn, our Host, was extremely helpful and welcome up with open arms, literally! Our room was well appointed and very comfortable. Dawn went out of her way to assist us with a mechanical issue with our daughter’s car as she is local for the summer. Breakfast was also outstanding, fresh fruit and homemade quiche were delicious. An overall great visit to this quaint small town. We hope to return on our next visit to PA.

Delightful, special place, you can tell the owners pour a lot of love into this darling inn, from the cozy robes to the relaxing music playing in your room when you arrive. It was very clean, I felt comfortable and safe here in regards to Covid-19. Dawn met me wearing a mask, dropped off my breakfast in a basket and followed every safety protocol. The classic architecture, skeleton keys and woodwork adds to the period feel, like a trip back in time but with the modern comforts of cable, a fridge and a microwave in the room. The owner’s extra touches really make it fun. There was an antique medicine cabinet filled with antique lineament jars in the bathroom and you adjust the heat via knobs on the beautifully restored original radiators. I was in Ligonier on business but I enjoyed myself so much I put on some Louis Armstrong, looked out the window at the Diamond and just relaxed back into my memories of days gone by. What a treat! This would be the perfect place to rent out the whole house for a wedding weekend or friends get together. I will definitely stay here again.

We stayed in this charming bed and breakfast in the historical town of Ligonier. Dawn was a wonderful host. She not only gave wonderful suggestions for dinner and area attractions-She also served an outstanding breakfast! Our suite was elegant and cozy- we only wished we could have stayed longer!

We were dropping our son at a local sleepaway camp and we decided to stay in Ligonier as a mini vacation. We were so happy to find Dawn and Colonial House on Main B&B. Dawn is a sweet, kind, thoughtful hostess. The rooms are lovely. We stayed in the Dice Suite which was clean and comfortable. The breakfast in the morning was delicious - tomato & asparagus frittata, muffins, fruit with yogurt. We didn't need to eat until dinner time. It was so filling and delicious! You will definitely enjoy your stay at this delightful B&B.
