This was our second visit here, it's an accessible place for a lot of ski resorts in Pennsylvania. The rooms are relatively big, clean and quiet. They have a heated indoor pool, a bar and ample breakfast to start your day. We would stay here again!
This property is basically the ideal mid-market, comfortable-but-not-fussy hotel. I stayed for two nights last month, and I was impressed by both the service and the room. After a quick and easy check-in, I headed up to my room, which was spacious, spotless, and well-considered. (The people at Marriott who design the SpringHill Suites brand clearly did a lot of market research to figure out what business travelers want; it's space, a good bed, a large desk, and a lot of power plugs.) Shortly after I got to my room, I got a call from the front desk asking if there was anything I needed. I haven't gotten a call like that in years, and I sometimes stay at much pricier, four-plus-star downtown hotels. And this call didn't feel perfunctory; the attendant really seemed to go out of her way, including at check-in, to see how she could help. Breakfast was meh, which was what I expected. But this impressed me: Shortly after breakfast closed, a colleague came down, looking forlorn that he had missed the cutoff. When he asked an employee who was cleaning up whether breakfast had closed (of course it had), the employee told him to wait right there, went into the back, and made him a breakfast sandwich. It was the sort of unnecessary, above-and-beyond service that you remember. So, the SpringHill Suites is not an elite resort or a unique boutique. But it is spacious, well-appointed, clean, and comfortable, with outgoing staff, and I'd go out of my way to stay there if I'm in the region again.…
I was in town to do business at the airport so this was perfect as right across from the airport. Plenty of parking. Very easy check in and Amanda (I hope I got the name right) behind the front desk was awesome. Explained a little of the history of the hotel for me and how Arnold Palmer was involved. Pointed out the memorabilia that would be found in the hotel and the pictures of his career. One of the only Springhill Suites with a bar and bistro which was nice. Very clean throughout, nice fire pit outside also to relax and enjoy a drink with friends. Spacious and clean room with very nice sitting area. Breakfast was fine for me as they had a hot selection but i just grabbed a muffin and hit the road. Definitely looking forward to next visit
Very nice hotel. Room was very clean and comfortable. Room had a coffee maker, microwave and a refrigerator. Sitting area was nice. Free coffee and water also in the lobby. Breakfast could have been better. No muffins or bread. It was ho hum. Staff was friendly
Hotel is located right off the main highway near the airport. My room looked out over the airport but I couldn't hear a thing. Rooms were well appointed but only had a mini fridge and no microwave. But they did have coffee and tea in the room. Breakfast was included and had enough options to make everyone happy. There was a small convenience store by the front desk. There was a lobby bar with live entertainment the first night I was there. They also have an indoor pool but it wasnt heated. Staff I encountered was all very friendly
Last month we spent 2 nights in the SpringHill Suites, Latrobe. It's a beautiful hotel with friendly staff, very clean, great breakfast, and the patio was perfect for our mini family reunion. There is only one reason I did not give it 5 stars. We checked in rather late and did not get to bed until around 1:00 am. When I pulled the bed down I noticed a hair pin laying in the middle of the bed. On closer inspection I could see that the sheets had not been changed after the prior guest. Being so late at night we just slept on the dirty sheets. The next morning I spoke with the manager about the dirty sheets. His reply was, "What do you want me to do about it?" I was quite taken aback by this. There was no surprise nor apology given. Just, "What do you want me to do about it?" I guess he expected us to sleep on someone else's sheets for a second night. I asked him to please give us fresh sheets. Should I ever stay there again, I will immediately check the sheets upon entering the room.…
The offerings for the hotel breakfast were the most lackluster and disappointing I have ever experienced. They have removed the toasters, bagels, English muffins and bread. When I inquired, staff told me this change was occurring chain-wide. For three mornings there was barely any meat. I will seriously reconsider my hotel choices for future stays in the area. Oh, and my frequent stay gift was a small bottle of water and one Jolly Rancher.
Great location and was happy to be able to check in early for a funeral. The room was not clean, mold in the shower, dirty marks on the bed side table, dirty toilet bowl, and a dirty microwave and refrigerator. This was not the first time we have stayed here and never had this problem before, so I hope it was just a one time occurrence.
Don't hesitate to stay here when in Latrobe PA. Staff was incredible and hotel is spotless! Shout out to Dominic on front desk and Laura in the bar area, EXCEPTIONAL people! Will be staying here in future visits.
We stopped here on a road trip because my husband and son are Arnold Palmer fans. This is a dirty hotel. Hair in the bedding. Carpet wet in many spots. Bathroom nasty. Loud crowd. Would NEVER stay here again.
