Walnut Lawn is a beautiful 1909 treasure in Amish Lancaster, PA. Beth and Chris's home is filled with antiques, has gorgeous hardwood floors, and comfortable, beautiful rooms. We were greeted by a lovely porch with a swing and chairs to enjoy a cool evening.

We stayed in the Quilt Room which has a private patio, a small sofa, flat screen TV, and everything you could need. The bed was heaven! The sheets are so fabulous that they actually get requests for them all the time; so often that Beth can sell you your own set!

Beth has thought of everything -- there is a small refrigerator near the bedrooms in case you got a doggie bag at a restaurant, it's filled with free filtered water, and she has a coffee stand and microwave across from the fridge. She also has an amenities closet in case you need stain remover, toothpaste, etc.

The grounds are filled with pretty flowers and bushes. Our very favorite was an extraordinary purple wisteria trellis that must be decades old.

Breakfast each morning was tasty and filling. Coffee, orange or apple juice, fruit salad, main course at the time was scrambled eggs one morning, quiche the next, potatoes, and sausage. It was topped off with a wonderful breakfast dessert, all hand made just prior to sitting down. We ate with other guests in the dining room at a long table. We were very cautious because my husband is immunocompromised. Beth was always in a mask and seated us socially distanced from the other guests. We had the option of eating in our room, on our patio, or in the living room. She really took care of us!

We were there for the autumn leaves and a long weekend away. Beth gave us lots of great suggestions of things to see and do; and there is a pamphlet rack near the front door for extra ideas. She sent us to the Brasserie Restaurant which we thoroughly enjoyed. So much to enjoy in Lancaster, or just stay at the Walnut Lawn B&B for a relaxing and comfortable time away from it all!

Room Tip: The largest is the Quilt Room. Faces the street and the side yard. Very sunny.

Not only was Beth accommodating and welcoming in every regard, but her place was very clean and comfortable. The bed was so comfortable, there was fresh water in a nearby fridge, water and wine glasses in our room, hooks, closets, a dresser and another perfect piece to lay items on and shoes under. She really thought of everything. Our bathroom was small, but had everything we needed and was designed to make it all work. Coffee was available before breakfast and the breakfast itself was filling & delicious. We came for a wedding, so 2 other couples joined us. It was a perfect place to sit, have a drink and catch up prior to and after the wedding. An excellent find.

Beth is a wonderful innkeeper! She was friendly and respectful of people’s COVID comfort level. When we arrived early so she let us check in and then gave us suggestions of where to eat and visit. We stayed in the Quilt room which was spacious and had a balcony with a nice view. The separate bathroom wasn’t a big deal because we still had a toilet and sink in our room. She also provided bathrobes. I really like the location of the B and B because it’s close to the city but it’s surrounded by farmland which was so peaceful.

Beth also asked us about our food preferences so our breakfast the next morning was perfect. She set a separate table for us so we could distance in another room. Since it was Valentine’s Day there were flowers on the table and fruit in the shape of hearts. We were completely full after breakfast and everything was so delicious. Thank you, Beth!

This was my first experience staying at a B&B and it was simply wonderful. Walnut Lawn is a gorgeous home with lovely rooms & amenities. Everything was laid out so thoughtfully and being antique lovers - we especially enjoyed the furnishings. Beth was a delight - helpful & welcoming and served excellent breakfasts both mornings.
We especially appreciated the fridge, keurig and conveniences just outside our room which made our early mornings & late nights so easy. We will return to the area as there were many stops we did not get to make and we will absolutely stay here each time.

Absolutely an amazing experience! This was our 3rd stay and we plan to return in September. The Innkeeper Beth is very sweet and very attentive. The house and rooms are spotless and the location is perfect with beautiful views and on occasions, Amish buggy’s will pass by the house. Breakfast is home cooked by Beth and is filling and very good. Truly a great experience!!

We felt so comfortable and relaxed in our clean, lovely and very comfortable room at Walnut Lawn Bed and Breakfast, August 14, 2020. Out hostess, Beth was so accommodating when learning that we would be leaving early before her regular breakfast time and insisted on making a light breakfast including coffee. We were very impressed with her kindness and thoughtfulness in wanting to make sure we didn't leave without breakfast. There is no doubt about it, we will definitely stay at Beth's B&B whenever we are back in the Lancaster Pa area! We highly recommend Walnut Lawn.

I had the unquestioned pleasure of spending a night at Walnut Lawn while in town for a family wedding. Beth was an impeccably gracious hostess, and she made certain that all my needs were handsomely met. The beautiful architecture of this stalwart old homestead impresses and the interior is impeccably clean. The room was quiet and very well-furnished. My bed gave me a comfortable, restive night of sleep; I awoke feeling quite refreshed. The three course breakfast the following morning was pleasingly coordinated and undoubtedly prepared by an innkeeper with natural culinary taste. If I were to find myself needing a rest from the road in Lancaster, I would not hesitate to book a room at Walnut Lawn again.
