I was traveling with my 2 teens to the city where my corporate office is located. It was both business and leisure. I booked a 5 day/4 night stay. The hotel is gorgeous. Apparently it used to be a historic hotel and is currently undergoing renovations. The lobby is very chic and updated. The room is updated as well. Here are my tips for visitors who plan to book here: - each room does have a fridge & coffee maker (this isn’t clear on any of the sites) I actually had to call and ask ahead of arrival. - there is a daily parking fee of $12.50, but the garage is nice and feels safe. Play it smart and head towards the exit of the garage to park on a lower floor closest to the hotel. I actually had a spot next to the exit gate my entire stay. - the hotel charges a $50 PER DAY incidental fee. This isn’t disclosed when you book. So heads up. Apparently it is just a “hold” on your acct but can be held up to 10 days. -the pool has limited hours and is located on the 4th floor which no one told us. My kids found it while exploring. - The Hotel restaurant is great! We ordered room service breakfast and it was plentiful and tasty. But, the guy answering the phone wasn’t sure of the menu and questioned everything I ordered. (I was ordering from the tag on the door.) My only issue was the trays afterwards. I called them several times to pick up the trays and they told me to place them in the hallway. Well, they set there for 3 days before they were picked up. I felt bad for my neighboring hotel rooms for having to see that daily and also was slightly embarrassed. Overall, the hotel is in a great location, it’s updated, clean and secure. I would recommend it!

I stayed here for a business trip and absolutely loved my stay! Check in was quick and easy. The Front Desk offered me a room on a high floor in the corner and I gladly accepted. Parking was located at the garage which is attached to the hotel and was easy access in and out. There is a fee for parking but its very reasonable. I was told at check in that they have a package which includes parking, you may want to look into those packages if you're used to having everything included in your hotel stay. My room was on the 10th floor and was perfect! It had that brand new smell and the view was awesome! I was in a corner room so I didn't hear any noise from my neighbors. The bed is so comfortable and the sheets were so soft! There were (4) pillows, 2 soft and 2 firm, they were perfect! I travel a lot during the year and this was by far, the best sleep I have ever had. I didn't wake up once during the night. The bathroom was a shower and although small, I never felt cramped. Keurig makers for morning coffee was a great touch! Television was large and had plenty of channels to choose from. The radio/alarm clock needs to be mentioned! This thing did everything! It connected to my bluetooth speaker so I could play my own music, I sleep with a white noise machine app and this was perfect as it projected through the speakers and lulled me to sleep! I decided to have breakfast in the hotel restaurant! This is not your typical Holiday Inn Restaurant and I have to say, not your typical Holiday Inn in any way! I decided to have the breakfast Buffett and it had everything you could ask for! Price was great at around $12. I saw something about kids under 11 eat free. I think that is great for parents with children on vacation! The servers in the restaurant were great and even offered me a coffee togo! Check out was simple and the desk asked me if I needed any help with my bags. They validated my parking ticket and off I went. I couldn't say enough about this hotel! I read some of the prior reviews and it seems like those guests must have come in at the opening or something as I didn't see any construction during my time. Its an old building so I am certain that there are going to be issues with a slow drain here and there but all of the other amenities and quality of sleep would certainly make those items seem small. I had nothing but an excellent time during my stay! I highly recommend this hotel to both business travelers as well as families on vacation! Downtown Lancaster is a great place and there is so much going on down there. I can't wait to come back with the family! Thank you Holiday Inn Lancaster, PA!!

This is an average choice at best but my experience was terrible. On my second night, I awoke at 1am to what sounded like someone showering in my bathroom. What I found was water rushing in from the ceiling. A call to the front desk led to “we will send someone up.” But as I realized just how much water was filling the bathroom, I called back and requested a new room. I was moved but not offered anything for my troubles. In the new room, I found only one of the beds was made. Other issues: very slow checkin and a fitness center that was way too hot to workout. Location is right downtown which is not good for a vacationer. None of the sights to see are nearby. The lobby is recently refreshed, reflecting the Holiday Inn takeover. Bed was hard. Blinds don’t keep the light out. Sirens all night long.

Mr. Barrenger, Please accept my sincere apologies for the inconvenience that you had during your recent stay with us. As you stated, the hotel did have a flood from a room above yours as the guest ran the bath over and it spilled into your rooms bathroom. After reviewing the notes from the overnight security log, it shows that you were offered complimentary breakfast in the restaurant the next day as well as given a new room (king bed). It also shows that security moved your luggage and helped you to your new room. We do have blackout shades in all rooms and yes, we are located in a downtown area where occasionally you will hear a siren however, we aren't located near a fire or medical station that you hear them all the time. Again, I am sorry that this happened to you and I hope that you will allow us another chance to make it up to you on your next visit. We just completed a multi-million dollar full renovation to the entire hotel. Not one area wasn't touched during this year long renovation. Other than initially being assigned a room that had a bathroom ceiling that collapsed, leaving tiles all over the shower and bathroom floor, an issue that was quickly resolved by being given another room immediately, this was an enjoyable stay. The onsite Imperial Bar was large and accommodating, with some decent beers on tap. The front desk allowed us to flip the channel on one of the tvs in the lobby to watch the Champions League final, but we were asked to move into the bar by the manager because our beers weren't allowed out there. Bed was comfortable and water pressure strong - two musts for my stays. Good location with plenty of food options within walking distance and you may want to for breakfast because the complimentary breakfast is underwhelming. You are paying for parking, unfortunately.

We booked this newer hotel in downtown Lancaster for a Mother's Day get away. I booked it because they had an indoor pool and my kids love to swim. I also liked that it was close to downtown, close to parking, had a nicer restaurant in the building, and the fact that kids eat at no cost at all holiday inns, for all meals really sold me!! I was really looking forward to relaxing by the pool with the kids and ordering those yummy waffles for my mother's day breakfast that were pictured on the website of the hotel's new restaurant. We arrived and that Friday 05/10/2019 evening at around 9 pm and had no problem parking in their fifteen check in unloading area. They lock the doors for safety and when we rang the door no one answered, thankfully another guest was able to let us in with their key or who knows how long we would have been there. The hotel is beautifully decorated and has a very upscale feel to it. There is some construction, but it did not bother us other than the crappy view out the window. Check in was fine, nothing spectacular, no stand out customer service to mention but it was fast. My bill that I signed for on my credit card was much higher then my online rate, nothing was explained to me so I just assumed it was higher in case of room service and it would all work out when we checked out. Our room was a bit dirty, floors and shower curtain could have used a cleaning. Seemed like it was construction mess, not from the prior guest. The beds and pillows were clean and comfy and the room had everything most hotels had but the shower was awful!!!!! It actually listed the massaging shower head in the rooms amenities they really need to take that out. The shower was awful and had thee worst water pressure ever. It took fifteen minutes of running the water for it to get warm and was barley a shower. For being such a new hotel I would never have expected this. My kids were so excited to swim in the pool and as we got ready to go, I asked a guy in the lobby who worked for the hotel where the pool was located and he replied that they had no pool, that it wasn't going to be open for a few more months. My kids were so upset they cried. I felt so bad that I had promised them a pool at the hotel, but it had clearly stated they had a pool online and even gave the hours. I ordered room service for breakfast the next day, I had the eggs, bacon, toast, potatoes, and fruit it was so good and came super fast. My husband and kids did the breakfast buffet and the kids did eat free without being asked or reminded. We did not eat lunch at the Imperial but did eat dinner there that night. I had the steak and it was awful, it was cooked the way I ordered it but tasted only like char no other flavor. The mashed potatoes and mushrooms that came with it were very good. My husband had the burger and said it was pretty average. My kids got the kids meals but when we reminded/asked about the kids eating for free as advertised they said no that was for breakfast only. I didn't want to cause a scene so I paid and decided I would check with the front desk again to see what was included, maybe I was wrong. When I approached the front desk about my disappointments about what they advertised online as perk vs what was actually offered when we arrived they said that the meals for kids were all included and then called over to the restaurant, they said they needed to see who we were in order to refund us to make sure they recognized us as actually being at the restaurant, on our way back over the restaurant manager met us and said he would refund the bill no problem, so my husband went back up to the room with the credit card. I was still in the lobby when he came back and said he needed the card so I told him not to worry about it. As far as the hotel pool, they said yeah the manager really needs to do something about the website saying we have one but is not ready, and they had received other complaints. Over all it was very frustrating to be paying full price for something that was not want you wanted. they offered two tickets for the breakfast buffet in the morning as compensation, which was not enough I feel, should have been a percentage off of my bill at least. So the next morning, Mother's Day 05/12/219 we all went down for breakfast at ten thirty am sharp, because it was advertised that breakfast was served and they had their breakfast buffet opened till 11 am. I was looking forward to a nice Mother's day breakfast. Seating was difficult and the hostess was annoyed at us and a bit short. She was the same one working the night before at dinner so possible over worked but still not an excuse for being rude to a momma on mother's day. I felt a little bad no one from the hotel or restaurant had said happy mother's day to me seeing me with my little kids, but oh well not a huge deal. When we sat down my husband and kids went to the buffet room right away but I wanted to order those yummy waffles I had been dreaming about. The hostess was walking towards me with the menus as she passed my husband an kids going into the buffet. She says to me "He isn't gong to be able to get the buffet because we are closing it early today" I was a bit shocked at her rudeness and also that they would do that to us and not give guest a warning the day before. I quickly asked if I was able to order from the breakfast menu and she told me no. So no breakfast for you mom on mother's day. I quickly went to the buffet room to chat with my husband to see what to do and their were several other guest in the buffet room very upset because they had all been told no breakfast for you! Thank God after seeing the panic and uproar they were causing they made a few more eggs and things, sadly they hadn't made the announcement that they were doing so and a group of guests got up to leave and go else where for some food. My family did get to eat but man we felt like a huge pain to the staff and I didn't get my waffles :-( Check out was fine and other than the room service breakfast and a small bar charge the bill was as promised. They did waive the daily parking fee, they said that was something they had been doing that weekend. I hope that they can make this hotel what is promised and paid for match with what is given. Currently it is false advertisement. Maybe in a year or this will be a nice hotel if they can fix the hot water/water pressure issue and do some training on customer service and how to cook a great steak.

Thank you for your review our the hotel and I am sorry that we didn't live up to your expectations. The hotel underwent a recent total renovation and became the branded hotel it is today. Every single area in the hotel has been touched and we are excited to welcome guests! The pool will not be completed until Late June 2019 and this is clearly visible on the hotels website. It also would have been communicated to you if you called the hotel to make the reservation. Again, I am sorry that the pool was not open. Children under 12 years old staying with a paid adult in the hotel do eat free from the children's menu. I am not sure why the restaurant didn't offer this and we have counseled our Food and Beverage team on the rules pertaining to Kids Eat Free. You arrived to the hotel on the first weekend of opening and we certainly had some new hotel opening hiccups however, I would invite you to try our hotel again as we worked through those pains and are ready to serve you in the future.
