Due to a huge debacle at another hotel in the area we had to make a last minute reservation here The bathroom in the room never appeared to be cleaned dirty floor. There was a hole in the bottom of the door. The elevator had some electrical tape over the elevator open button wonder how long before they fix that Back to the room the cover on the a/c unit was dirty also. In midst of a pandemic one would think things would be cleaner. Except for the bed (which was comfortable) furniture had seen better days. Also you can only close the shears on the windows not the drapes so we had have lights from street & various businesses in the area in our room all night. Then at 3:00 am the fire alarm went off & we had to be evacuated. Seems no one knows why it went off. I guess I’m glad to know it works. Not the best or worse placed I’ve stayed but certainly could improve.

I have stayed at the Wingate approximately 261 times, and have won $100 on this exact lottery ticket, every single night I was there. It’s a guaranteed lock, just like finding matching socks, on the boat down in the dock.

Upon arrival, room had a weird smell. The staff person at desk did spray it. Next day upon return to room, bed was not made, no soap and toilet not cleaned properly. Then found food and magazines under the sofa cushions. Reported this to manager, next day bed was made, toilet still had stain on it, and sofa still had food and magazines. Staff was a little bit lacking in personality. This hotel seems more geared to business people. There is a hot tub on premises, it too had some dirt on one side of it. Had a breakfast area that seems fair enough. Price was average. Be careful of room 220.

Room was superficially clean upon arrival. Found a charger, silverware, etc on the floor. Stayed 3 nights/2 days and the room was NEVER cleaned. Towels were not replaced. So we used the pile of towels on the floor. Not ok during an all dy sports tournament. Staff not responsive. It was awful.

The people working here are really nice, and do their best to make up for a rather sad property. Access to the property from the main drag can be a problem. Traffic is ugly. Entry using the storage unit alleyway is the only safe way to enter )from the direction of the outlets).

Response from Eric C, General Manager at Wingate by Wyndham Lancaster / PA Dutch Country
Responded Jan 21, 2020
Thank you for your review. I will pass along your compliments to the staff. It is nice to hear that they are being properly attentive. As you state, the access road from Route 30 - a very busy highway - is a very safe and secure way to enter the property. (If only Siri and/or Google Maps guided people this way.) And Martin Luther King Weekend is very busy in Lancaster County.
