Wow! Beyond stunning views!!! Melanie greeted us at gate and escorted us to the site (hand-delivered firewood too). We were traveling with another couple and their site was directly beside us. Sites are HUGE. If you want gorgeous, serene, relaxing spot...this is the place! A couple transient and a few seasonal folks were there during our weekend...everyone was warm & friendly. Lovely walking trails throughout the park to walk our golden Cooper, plus they even had a dog park. Met the owners briefly - seemed just as friendly as Melanie. We visited Ritter's Cider Press minutes from the park - best apple cider & donuts EVER. Traveled to Hamlin, 'bout 20 min away, to awesome antigue barn called "Pieces of the Past" - 'lil pricey but crazy stock full of antiques for every collector. We are excited to return to Clayton Park next summer - best kept secret! Can't wait to experience the Summer Music Series and kayak on that beautiful lake (the pool area looks amazing too) Thank you for an enjoyable weekend.…
I would not recommend renting this building in the hot summer months. There is no cross-ventilation and the tin sidings of this structure absorb the heat and the room is unbearably hot. Also, the heat from the kitchen adds to the warmth. The Park provides two large industrial fans, but unfortunately, offer little help and they are also loud. Perhaps some modification can be done to accommodate the season and with that more rental opportunities.
We spent 4 nights at Clayton Park on Wintergreen Way. The Seasonals there are awesome and were very welcoming to us. We enjoyed our walks, my husband fished on his Kayak, and we just loved the Saturday night music. The pool is lovely, and the bathhouse is so clean. Melanie in the office was extremely pleasant, and helpful. Her energy and smile set the pace for a great visit here. It is clear the owners take great pride in running their campground.
Wall to wall permanent huge trailers line the lakefront so you cannot even see but a glimpse. The so called sites Are 10 feet apart so the other guys sewer is almost on your picnic table. About a 20 foot area to walk on the lakefront. Dog friendly means a muddy chain length fenced area the size of a single site. $18 bucks to wash and dry 2 loads of laundry....ruination of a gorgeous piece of property for the sake of more profit..all in all we will skip the second day and be more comfy in a wall mart parking lot.
The staff and seasonal campers were all very friendly, and the resort was a perfect weekend away. Very kid friendly, nice and quiet at night. A quick trip into town makes it easy to go out for dinner or breakfast. Close to lots of Pocono attractions. We will be back.
