We had a wonderful overnight stay at Clayton Park RV Escape. Sonya met us at the gate. Maurice personally guided us to our newly grated pull through site. They delivered a bundle of firewood to our site as we strolled around the park taking in the nice evening weather and the awesome lake view. Would definitely stay here again if in the area.

We stayed here May thru June this year. The campground is beautiful, right on the lake, beautiful pool, very clean and very attentive owners. This campground is mostly seasonal campers; makes for a very quiet place during the week, which we really liked. The owners provide activities including local entertainment and family events, which were very nice. The owners are super nice - the type of people you’d like to chat with around the campfire. We look forward to staying here in the future. The only reason, we didn’t rate this as 5 star is due to the campsites being tight. Would be better if there was a little more space, especially for the campsites on the water.

Wow! Beyond stunning views!!! Melanie greeted us at gate and escorted us to the site (hand-delivered firewood too). We were traveling with another couple and their site was directly beside us. Sites are HUGE. If you want gorgeous, serene, relaxing spot...this is the place! A couple transient and a few seasonal folks were there during our weekend...everyone was warm & friendly. Lovely walking trails throughout the park to walk our golden Cooper, plus they even had a dog park. Met the owners briefly - seemed just as friendly as Melanie. We visited Ritter's Cider Press minutes from the park - best apple cider & donuts EVER. Traveled to Hamlin, 'bout 20 min away, to awesome antigue barn called "Pieces of the Past" - 'lil pricey but crazy stock full of antiques for every collector. We are excited to return to Clayton Park next summer - best kept secret! Can't wait to experience the Summer Music Series and kayak on that beautiful lake (the pool area looks amazing too) Thank you for an enjoyable weekend.

I would not recommend renting this building in the hot summer months. There is no cross-ventilation and the tin sidings of this structure absorb the heat and the room is unbearably hot. Also, the heat from the kitchen adds to the warmth. The Park provides two large industrial fans, but unfortunately, offer little help and they are also loud. Perhaps some modification can be done to accommodate the season and with that more rental opportunities.

Thank you for the feedback, Lori. We are sorry your experience was less than what you expected. It is a very large building and has been rented like that for literally decades. We currently don’t know of a feasible way to air condition the whole building, and cannot control the weather (this has been the hottest summer on record). Our goals do not revolve around gaining "more rental opportunities." Our end goal is and will always be to achieve an environmentally and financially sustainable respite we can share with the public. As sharing becomes increasingly difficult, however, we must pull back that access. Therefore, going forward we'll no longer offer the large pavilion to the general public for family reunions, etc. With a note that we'll continue to support our community through rental donations to organizations such as our local VFW, and of course, RV Park related activities. We wish you and members of your family joy and peace.

We spent 4 nights at Clayton Park on Wintergreen Way. The Seasonals there are awesome and were very welcoming to us. We enjoyed our walks, my husband fished on his Kayak, and we just loved the Saturday night music. The pool is lovely, and the bathhouse is so clean. Melanie in the office was extremely pleasant, and helpful. Her energy and smile set the pace for a great visit here. It is clear the owners take great pride in running their campground.

Wall to wall permanent huge trailers line the lakefront so you cannot even see but a glimpse. The so called sites Are 10 feet apart so the other guys sewer is almost on your picnic table. About a 20 foot area to walk on the lakefront. Dog friendly means a muddy chain length fenced area the size of a single site. $18 bucks to wash and dry 2 loads of laundry....ruination of a gorgeous piece of property for the sake of more profit..all in all we will skip the second day and be more comfy in a wall mart parking lot.

Thank you for your feedback. We are very sorry your stay was so distressing, and that, in your words, you would be more comfy in a "Wall Mart" parking lot. Pull-through area sites - We fully disclose the length of our sites on our website, so that information is publicly available prior to booking. There is an accompanying video available for a sky view of the pull through area, as well. We also disclose that we are coming off of a construction project. Laundry Services - All of our laundry equipment is brand new. Not sure why you would have had to spend $18 when we have it priced at $2 per load; which is comparable to any other campground in the area. In addition, we have used the equipment ourselves and can speak to its efficiency, and we have never had a complaint from any other camper on our laundry services, even before the new equipment. Dog Run - The dog run is approximately 1000 square feet. It is not advertised as a pet park, and is intended as a convenience which allows pets to be leash-free. We are pet-friendly in that we allow pets to stay with us, whereas many parks do not. Many other parks that allow pets also charge extra for pets, whereas we do not. Rainy Weather - At the time you visited our park, our docks were not yet in the water, and the parking lot preceding the lakefront music pavilion area was quite muddy. Again, we disclose on our website that our roads are not paved. And, we are at 10 inches above normal in rainfall this year... which, unfortunately produces mud. Property Ruination - We are a small family-owned and operated business, but chose to make the necessary improvements to completely rebuild our infrastructure from the inside out so that each site has 50 amp full hook-up service and functions off of updated water, electrical, and sewer systems. Our intent is, and always has been, to create an environmentally sustainable respite for campers for years to come. Like many things in life, the construction state is temporary, and the rain is temporary. Unfortunately, you were barely here for 2 loads of laundry, and will never get to experience the end result of 13 years worth of our efforts. Others reading this can rest assured, we work very very hard every single day in making the park the best it can be, despite the awful weather conditions, and the fact that we both work outside jobs in addition to running the park. Your complaint - We take all feedback seriously, and again disclose on our website that if you are unhappy with any part of your stay, we would appreciate knowing about it while you are on site, so we have a chance to make any adjustments to improve your experience. However, the only feedback we received from you prior to this negative review was through our office manager after you decided to depart early - you were both new to RVing, had spent $60,000 on a new rig, and then decided you didn't like the lifestyle. You were staying with us as part of cutting your trip south short and returning to your home in New Hampshire. So, though an opportunity appears to have been lost on you, we are always working toward improvement, both in ourselves and in our park...and always asking ourselves what have we done to make someone else's life better today.

The staff and seasonal campers were all very friendly, and the resort was a perfect weekend away. Very kid friendly, nice and quiet at night. A quick trip into town makes it easy to go out for dinner or breakfast. Close to lots of Pocono attractions. We will be back.

Called last minute on the road from rochester NY and was heading to Ocean City, MD. Currently on a cancer sucks! Rv trip with mom and Maurice accommodated us so late and got a nice spot near bath house. Handicap accessible! SCORE. Beautiful place. Even better service. Bathrooms, laundry and grounds are great. Nice stay for long term as well.

Very helpful and pleasant hosts. Located remotely on a lake. Beautiful pool. Brand new facilities for shower/bath. Internet was poor (as advertised) and no TV antenna reception. Lovely for families or groups for a weekend. We enjoyed it just wish it was a little closer to the highway.

Thanks very much for staying with us and taking the time to leave this feedback. Yes, we are in a rural area and about 6 miles from the highway, which is also disclosed. And, though we have invested considerably in improvements to our infrastructure, including our internet service, we have still had some slowdown during high occupancy periods. We will continue to work with our provider, Adams Cable, to complete the upgrades we invested in over the past two years. We wish you safe and happy travels and thanks again for the feedback. <3

Maurice and Sonya were beautiful people and made us feel very welcome. As hosts they found a spot for us to set up our motor home then went out of their way to see that we had what we needed for the night. The had a band, a campfire for the whole campground, made marshmallows and smores for everyone then danced the night away after everyone had some! We will return again.
