My husband and I got a Travelzoo deal and stayed here for one night. It was a quick getaway from the city and we were looking forward to relaxing and just spending time in a quaint little town. We arrived a bit early and were able to check in right away which was wonderful. With

All I googled was “hotel with a fireplace” and Golden Plough revealed itself. Living in Bucks County most of my life I’ve been to Peddler’s Village countless times. Never did I consider it a romantic getaway-and it is! The funny fact is our room was above Giggle Berry Fair. The

Our hotel is a Non Smoking hotel. All hotels that have a Non Smoking policy charge a fee for rooms that have been smoked in. This is noted on the Registration card, which you signed. This fee can vary by hotel. Once a room has been smoked in, all bed linens, bath linens, mattress pads, pillows must be laundered. The rugs are shampooed, the drapes are steam cleaned, throw pillows are steam cleaned, the filters in the HVAC unit (which circulates the in room air) must be changed, the HVAC unit itself is cleaned out. The rugs, drapes, throw pillows do not dry in a day. It usually takes at least two days for the odor to leave the room, rugs to dry. In the case of your room, the room was out of inventory for three days. Guests that check into a Non Smoking room do not expect to find any hint of a smoke odor. During this process, the room cannot be rented. The hotel loses revenue with a room out of inventory. We do not charge a guest for smoking unless it has been checked by at least three staff members. When the Room Attendant, the Executive Housekeeper and myself all checked your room, it was clear that it was smoked in. I must admit I am surprised by your review. When you called and spoke to our Front Office Manager, you asked her what the charge was for. When she told you that it was for smoking in the room, you stated that you found the charge to be high, that it should not cost that much to clean a room. You also stated that you did not know we were a non smoking hotel. You did not, at any time, say that you did not smoke in the room. Steve Dugan General Manager

The Restaurant directly across from the main Golden Plow Building is Earl's. We've eaten there several times, and have dined there for Easter, as well. If you're looking for the most special place to eat on a special day - Earl's would be my recommendation. They have a very nice wine list and a fully stocked (well served) bar. The tenders are usually very professional and know how to mix a nice cocktail. If you are staying in the main Golden Plow Building (one of the only two that have an elevator) it's right across the road. But even if you are staying in the other building with an elevator (the Carousel Building - although they call it something different now) it still a lovely stroll through the village; especially that time of year. If you're looking for good food, but not a special night, the Button Wood Grill is very good - it's a very upscale dinner/restaurant. There's the Pub (under the Cock & Bull and another along side the C&B) as well. Enjoy!

I’m sorry, I don’t know anything about the voucher system. We just stayed one night. Call the restaurant and ask them.

I would recommend the Main Inn or the Carousel Building if you need an elevator. The Buttonwood Grill is connected to the Main Inn. Each of our eight buildings provides a different view of the Village, and all are within walking distance of the Buttonwood Grill, Earl's New American and the Cock n' Bull Restaurants. Check the Peddlers Village web site - Golden Plough Inn - Offers - for special Packages and rates.
