We stayed for a long weekend in the Promisland cabin. It was fantastic. There is no longer a hot tub but it’s so beautiful and the sound of the creek makes you not even notice. The have a fantastic spot in the river for swimming that is calm. The hiking trails are well marked and maintained. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking to disconnect from life and reconnect with nature bust still with all the amenities of a beautiful modern cabin. We hope to come back again and bring out teen daughters.

Ok I'm a bit partial.....I had been friends with the owner, John McKay back in high school, spent some time in Mast Hope in my college years.....but that was OVER 40 YEARS AGO!.... Anyho, I loaded up my wife, two of my girls, their husbands and three of my grands. Since they only had two cabins available, Jane, John's wife, got us a house to rent in the village as well. All the accommodations, especially the cabins were excellent. The Mckays have managed to create a lovely getaway, a tree farm business, while maintaining the pristine setting that Mast Hope was 40 yrs ago. The babbling brook, the river, the trails, the wildlife, were exceptional. Kudos to my old friends! If you are looking for some time with nature in an unspoiled setting...look no further!

We had such a lovely, peaceful, and cozy stay at the Brookside cabin. The Brookside cabin is immaculate on the inside. It's clean, rustic, yet luxurious with the beautiful shower and jacuzzi. The cabin had been decorated for Christmas, which made it look extra cozy. The sound of the stream rushing by the cabin just adds to the peaceful environment. We enjoyed the double sided fireplace and the host was so kind and helpful throughout our two days there. During a hike, we encountered a group of beautiful deer hopping by. It was such a great experience and we left feeling more connected to nature. We will definitely be visiting again. We couldn't have asked for a better new years weekend.

We have been staying here for over 20 years. The McKays are more like family than a vacation rental. The atmosphere is so serene and tranquil. I look forward to knitting or reading by the fire, walking the trails and along the river. I almost hate to tell people where I stay, because I don't want to have it get booked up when I am going. We look forward every year to the time at Sylvania, it has become a part of our lives that we are not really to retire! You won't be disappointed staying with he McKay family. The cabins and the houses are immaculate, country decorated and kitchens are supplied with everything but the food! They even have wifi if you are inclined to work or check emails while there.

My favorite place to stay, anywhere, EVER! This place is a little slice of heaven — from the beautiful cabins to the location in the woods near a babbling brook and a 10-minute walk to the river... Plenty of privacy yet you’re not isolated. Jane and John and their staff are perfect hosts — accommodating, friendly, there when you need them but not in your face. It’s simply the most peaceful and beautiful place I’ve ever had the good fortune to visit. And multiple repeat trips over the years have been consistently perfect. Go!

We fully enjoyed our stay in the Brookside Cabin, a peaceful woodlands retreat for couples with an indoor jacuzzi, double-sided wood burning fireplace (firewood provided), and a breathtaking view overlooking the brook. We love that we were welcomed by deer and turkeys. The screened in porch was nice for evenings. The cabins are very private and there are grocery stores and restaurants about 20 minutes away. Our cabin was spotless, the bed very comfortable and the kitchen fully equipped . We explored several of the trails on the property; well-marked with a range of difficulty. Just a heads-up if you are taking the trails, be tick-smart. We encounter ticks in the woods & grasslands more often these days and it is helpful to be aware beforehand of what to do to lessen your exposure.

My wife and I recently had the pleasure of spending a long weekend tent camping at Sylvania and it was outstanding. Campsite was perfect, setting a few feet from the Delaware River and the stream. Went on numerous hikes on the property that were beautiful and explored the surrounding area. Jane and family were gracious and accommodating. Recommended trails as well as a visit to Bethel Woods which turned out to be an unexpected part of the trip that we can't stop talking about. Will definitely be back.

We went to stay at Sylvania Tree Farm after reading every review. We were not disappointed!!! In fact, Jane and the cabin exceeded our expectations at every turn. We were looking to have some couple time, relaxing and refreshing. The hot tub and fireplace certainly fit the bill! Fresh flowers, personalized directions and advice about the surrounding area made this stay memorable. The unseasonably warm weather allowed us to hike the well marked trails by the Delaware river. Definitely a 5 star experience!!!!!
