My friends and I stayed at Kennett House B and B for three nights to attend the local gardens and check out Kennett Square. What a delightful B and B, full of character, great service, wonderful breakfasts and the perfect location for walking downtown. We had two rooms for the three of us which worked out well. We could meet between the two rooms in a sitting area with games, a small refrigerator full of water and snacks. It was very comfortable and a good location to chat with other guests.
There is a wide front porch with rocking chairs that we made good use of every morning and afternoon with coffee or a snack.
Every morning of our stay Gilja (the host) had coffee and breakfasts ready for us at our requested times. Each breakfast was very good. French toast with scrambled eggs, mushroom omelet with bacon, blueberry pancakes with sausage. Each meal was served with juice and a lovely fruit presentation. We ate in a little room off the dining room away from the other guests who were coming in to eat as we were finishing up. Very safe set up because of covid.
Gilja shared a few kitchen items we needed for a snack one afternoon and gave us ice for our cooler another afternoon. Very accomodating.
The rooms were clean with comfortable beds, nice sheets and amazingly soft towels. At no time did I feel unsafe because of covid or any other reason.
The house is always locked and we had a pass code to enter.
I would be happy to return !

Room Tip: The back rooms are quietest. All rooms had their own bathrooms but Brandywine's is outside...

My friend and I stayed at Kennett House for 3 nghts. The inn has a policy that all guests must be vaccinated. I had the Wyeth Room and she had the Delaware Room. Both rooms had excellent beds and nice bathrooms with toiletries provided, and the Delaware Room had a small sitting room where you could see how thick the granite walls of the house were. My room was chlly but the heater provided made it comfortable. There are nice sitting rooms on the ground floor and second floor for guest use, with brochures about all kinds of things to do in the area. The highlight for us was the house and meeting Gilja, the owner/host. She prepared beautiful breakfasts, shared her story and the history of the house. The house was beautifully decorated for Christmas. There was free parking on the street. We enjoyed our stay.

This was our first time away from home in almost two years, and we couldn’t have picked a better place. Our room was spacious and comfortable, we loved the craftsman style interior, and Gilja made the most delicious breakfasts. We will be back.

We decided to stay at Kennet House because the reviews were good. The outside of the house is in need of repair and landscaping. The inside is dark and our room was very disappointing. We had a small bedroom that was clean, but the adjoining room had two worn rugs on the floor and a rusted vent for heat. What really took me by surprise was the old blanket and pillows on the couch. With covid, they should have been removed. I spent most of the time thinking that the couch and pillows were not covid safe. It was also very warm in the room and it needed much updating.
The bathroom was clean and nicely appointed. The owner/operator disappeared after checking us in, but as my title states, she made an incredible breakfast in a lovely room. I believe this could be a very good B&B, but it definitely would not be a place we would return.

Deposit refunded as the B&B was closing due to Innkeeper's illness. Was not made aware of closing by the B & B. Contacted the B & B website showed that future reservations were not being accepted. Did not receive refund until we contacted B&B about the message on their website.

The house is lovely and clean, great character. Perfect distance from everything. Our host was welcoming and gracious. She cooked an amazing breakfast for us on our first morning. When I forgot my notebook at the B&B, she mailed it to me within a couple of days - amazing service!!

We stayed here for a night when we had reservations to eat at Talula's Table. Very convenient, as it is only a few blocks away.
Easy check in, very clean, little surprises like bottled water and some candies.
The BEST part was the breakfast. Truly a gourmet breakfast with fruit and French toast.
We will be back the next time we go to Talula's Table.

Probably one of the best B&B’s we have ever stayed at. Cozy and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. Restaurants are just a short walk and Longwood Gardens is a 3 mile drive. Will return when weather warms up.

This was the best B&B we've stayed in. The house (and the Brandywine Room in particular) was lovely, with all the amenities you could think of provided gratis (i.e. snacks, drinks, toiletries). The delightful, very knowledgable owners whip up gourmet breakfasts each day and made suggestions for how to make the most of our long weekend. The Kennett House is within walking distance of many great shops and restaurants, and within driving distance of numerous local attractions like Longwood Gardens and some wineries. We came for the annual Mushroom Festival, which is not to be missed! Great place to stay. You'll basically feel like you're right at home...just a much more elegant one.

This is my experience (5/15/12 to 5/2012): When we arrived one evening, Gilja strongly urged us to take a "free upgrade" to another room....I couldn't understand why. Turns out, the room she had booked us in did not have an in-suite bathroom!! She did not mention when we booked the room that there was no bathroom. My husband said, "You didn't tell me there was no bathroom." She said, "I thought you knew." How were we supposed to know? It was perfectly okay with her to upgrade us to a room with bath, but, too bad, only for 3 nights; for the other two nights of our stay we had to move to the original room and use the bath in the hall. Smiling all the way thru the discussion, Gilja gave me the strong impression that changing rooms and having to use the bath in the hall for 2 nights was not a big deal. No problem, why would I be anything but happy, happy. Had we chosen to do this, it would have been no problem. Since we were not originally told about the bathroom situation, it was outrageous. Then....the second room was a bit of a shock, it was VERY small, so small that there was really no space for the luggage rack or any place to put things. Very uncomfortable.... Then....there was breakfast. The second morning there both my husband and I got the Blind Stumbling Runnies about 45 minutes after breakfast. No more breakfasts there for us. This experience went a long way toward convincing me that a Hilton Express, say, would be just about as expensive, certainly more pleasant and less risky, than B&Bs in general, certainly this one in particular.

I was there as a guest and cannot say what the availability is for those days on August. If you go to the website you can check directly. as for the price, it varies by the size of the room booked, the range is about 160-200 per night- everything included.
