I don’t think that in my 48 years of life I have ever stayed in a place where I felt so lovingly pampered and catered to. Michael and Jeffri have created something unique and exquisite. The house, tastefully filled with artwork and antiques, perfectly original, yet, with all the modern conveniences. The hosts, so welcoming, friendly, accommodating, knowledgeable about town. The breakfasts where the lost art of hospitality and the lost art of conversation truly came together, alive and well, with Jeffri whipping up magic in the kitchen and Michael working the front, tending to the guests, making whatever coffee drink you want, explaining every dish, providing advice what to do for the day and interspersing it all with history of the town and their travel experiences from around the world; quite a relaxing experience, lasting up to an hour and a half, which encourages you to slow down, enjoy life and get to know other guests. All the special touches in the rooms: the Hershey kisses, the bath bombs and soaps, bath robes, perfect climate control, comfortable beds and pillows are there to round up an already perfect stay. We had a terrific time and will certainly be back. Love, Leonid and Irina

It was one of the best experiences we have ever had and we've been traveling extensively since 2003. Jeffri made the most delicious gourmet breakfasts. It was served on antique china which was different daily for each of the three courses. We looked forward to the experience every morning. Michael couldn't have been more accommodating, thoughtful & told great stories. They both made us feel like family. We stayed in the Doc Dougherty Suite and LOVED IT. The artwork, collectibles and antiques were everywhere. It truly felt like being in a museum. The location couldn't be better as are the views and there is on site parking. We highly recommend the Dolon House when visiting Jim Thorpe. Dottie & John Cleary

If you are looking for an amazing place to stay and experience in Jim Thorpe, this is the place! From the moment you are greeted at the door until the moment you leave, it is like staying with family (family you actually enjoy 😊). Michael and Jeffrey are so amazing and such wonderful hosts you almost don’t want to leave. As previous reviewers have written, the breakfast is beyond anything you have experienced. Even reading the reviews doesn’t really do the breakfast justice. I have never experienced breakfast like that in my life! At breakfast, our group ended up changing our whole days plans as a result of all the things Michael suggested we could do. For the particulars the house is located right at the top of the Main Street of town. Parking is available but super tight so leave the hummer at home 😜. The rooms are spacious and the little extras go beyond the norm. Overall this a wonderful place to stay and experience and we look forward to another trip in the future.

The Dolon House is an incredible B&B! The ambience, proprietors and breakfast are top notch. Michael and Jeffri are perfect hosts and make you feel right at home. The breakfast is the best I’ve ever had at a B&B! It is truly gourmet! I would highly recommend this establishment to others. I can’t wait to go back!

My husband and I stayed at The Dolon House in early July. We love to getaway away on motorcycle trips for the weekend. The B&B was very accommodating for parking for our motorcycle. Michael and Jefferi were the perfect hosts and went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. They went the extra mile to make us feel welcome and even upgraded us to their Turret Suite which was beautiful and a nice surprise. The breakfast was delicious! Michael was a wealth of information on things to see a do. He recommended touring the mine nearby which was really cool and one of our favorite things that we did while there. We will definitely be back!!

If I could give more than 5 stars, I definitely would! Michael and Jefferi are hands down the most accommodating hosts a guest could ask for. They were always stating if there was anything else we needed, we should never hesitate to ask. Michael was a wealth of information as far as where to go to maximize our stay. In addition, he made dinner reservations for us without hesitation. We felt very welcomed, and comfortable. The breakfasts Jefferi prepared rivaled those of a five star restaurant. Absolutely amazing! We didn't even need to stop for lunch because we were so satisfied from the delicious meal. They have a special needs dog named Pearl, who is an absolute sweetheart. You can tell she is very much loved :) We will definitely be back, and would highly recommend the Dolan house to anyone wanting to stay in the Jim Thorpe area. Thank you again Michael and Jefferi.

I’ll get right to the point: The Dolon House is the very best B&B in Pennsylvania, and likely beyond. I honestly defy anyone to name a better one—the breakfast alone puts it in a league of its own. Jeffri’s dishes are beautifully plated and layered with flavor; Michael’s warm, lively descriptions (and stories) make each meal a delight. Both gentlemen are exceedingly hospitable and give wonderful recommendations for dining, shopping, and exploring this amazing corner of PA. The house itself is perfectly situated near the top of Millionaire Row, across from the opera house and Marion Hose, a great local restaurant. It’s an easy walk to everything in town, but just far enough away from the hustle and bustle of town to provide a relaxing setting. The interior is like a museum—full of interesting art and antiques. Each room is full of character and has a theme; it’s a delight just touring the common areas and one’s room. Do yourself a favor: book The Dolon House any time you’re in Jim Thorpe—and stay an extra night, if only for one more fabulous breakfast before you go.

My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights in July. This place is amazing. And I’m not usually a B&B person. Right out of the box, Michael, one of the owners told us we were upgraded to their best room. This room is a corner suite that overlooks the Mauch Chunk theatre and Broadway St, the main road in the town. It’s so elaborately (but also tastefully) furnished that I felt like I was in Italy. The character, charm and decor of this place are truly hard to describe. The owners’ taste and attention to detail is spectacular. The service level from the moment you walk in the door is better than I’ve had in many other places. The owners are always ready to help. Michael even helped us carry up our bags The breakfast is spectacular. It consists of three very tasty original courses cooked by Jeffri who is a chef by profession. The whole serving ritual is like watching a broadway performance. The location is very good - in the heart of this very quaint town, walking distance from every major attraction. And now a word about Jim Thorpe (once called Mauch Chunk). It markets itself as the little Switzerland of the Pocano and that’s in fact how it looks - it’s a tiny beautifully maintained and historic town slap in the middle of the Lehigh Valley. A marvelous place to visit. It’s also almost midway between NY and Washington, a trip we do often to visit family. We look forward to our next visit.
