We booked at the last minute whilst driving south to stay for a night in the standard double room with shared bathroom. On our very late arrival, we were upgraded to the standard room with ensuite ... we were the only people in the building (nurses quarters). This upgrade did make it good value as the units in the nearby... More

Very clean, I booked the one with the bathroom and no complaints. I had the 2 beds and was very spacious. Beautiful old building, has a massive common area which would be good if travelling in groups to sit and chat. Was cold room on arrival, but warmed up quickly with heating and the electric blanket was excellent.

We were only staying one night, so stayed in the guest house accommodation. It was very large and lovely. Wonderful beds, good bathroom. Unfortunately we are unused to air conditioning and couldn't work it to warm up our room - however, we snuggled into our bed, early. Also, unfortunately we were there when the kitchen/dining wasn't open for an evening... More

So pleased I chose this place to stay - Hermitage Hill Country Retreat - with its amazing garden setting and history. On arrival we were upgraded to the Duke Suite which was very roomy and classic to say the least. The spa bathroom was very spacious and I always love a spa!!! The wooden floor boards added to the history... More

I loved the atmosphere in the entire complex, we stayed in the blue stone building which was so special and the staff made our stay fantastic. We dinned in the restaurant which was delicious and the views were magnificent to say the least. I would highly recommend that if you are going to Wellington that you look no further!

Nice old hotel in a cute little town, much better than the usual motel offerings for similar prices. Were very helpful with bike storage and late arrivals. We were even given an up grade to make it easier for our late night arrival. Was a little cold in our room over night even with the air con full blast. Would... More

YES, quite wonderful, BUT...........yes and BUT, the room was small and quite inadequate AND entirely overpriced. Sadly, the large and poorly patronised restaurant didn't make up for the inadequacies, although the food and attention by staff was excellent. Nevertheless, we had a very happy and relaxing time looking out over Wellington and just "chilling-out", however we believe that we could... More

This is a beautiful place, on a hill overlooking the town of Wellington. The room was in the old nurses' quarters and was tastefully decorated and appointed. Unfortunately it was also a tad on the small side ( only one bedside table - not enough room for another one) the ensuite bathroom was very nice and almost the same size... More

We stayed here for 2 nights to celebrate a major milestone birthday for my sister. We had never heard or known of Hermitage Hill, but do now and love it. What a charming, cosy & peaceful place. Being the old Wellington Hospital, built in 1904, it is full of history and delightfully restored & renovated. We spend a night in... More
