The rooms are great and the views are spectacular. The communal space is cosy. You can walk pretty much everywhere in town. The groceries and gas are way too expensive, and the closest village is 30 minutes far from Thredbo. Hikers will love Mt Kosciuszko. The view at the top is magnificent. If you want to start from the top...

Friendly staff greated us at the hostel after we had driven and dropped the family with all skis and bags at the door. Clean, tidy and basic room. Shared bathroom. Remember to bring sheets and towels. Kitchen and good sized eating, lounge area. Reception has games aplenty to help generate conversation. Central location. Even though June we treked a couple...

I stayed here as a stopover on the Alpine Walking Trail, and after over a week in the bush was keen for a shower and good food. For a YHA it was great. The manager was very good and gave me a room by myself which was more than adequate and cost about $100 per night. The laundry was most...

Clean, basic rooms. Reasonable rates in the summer, and about half the cost of other accommodation in the area during winter. Fully-stocked kitchen, dining area with mountain views. A short walk down to the village. Will definitely be back to stay here in the winter!

Such a great location, facilities and view. Brilliant to stay for mountain biking. Lovely people, great for families. All year round , really enjoy staying at the YHA. Rooms are basic , but very comfortable. Breakfast on the balcony, with a view of the mountains , birds and rabbits hopping around is so relaxing.

We stayed at Thredbo in March and it was perfect weather. The YHA was more than adequate. We had the 4 bed family room and used the shared bathrooms. The kitchen and common areas were comfortable and everything was in walking distance. The hostel could do with some renovations though it is looking a bit tired as I remembered staying...

Sure you can go all 'fancy pants' at the snow and go to a chalet but then you'd be missing out on all the fun. Thredbo YHA is a great cost effective place to stay with an eclectic bunch of people ranging from families to lone skiiers and everything inbetween. You will always find someone to have a chat with...

My wife and I stayed here for five nights and were most impressed. Thredbo YHA is more like a normal ski lodge rather than what you imagine a YHA would be. Staff were very pleasant and attentive. I will definetly return.

This is a very nice hostel. Although the prices are considerably higher than a regular hostel, this is one of the cheapest options in Thredbo. The rooms are dorm style, but with enough space and the beds have good mattresses. The bathrooms are shared and down the hall. Always warm water and clean. Downstairs is a very spacious living area,...

Hi Marvin Thanks for choosing to stay with us this winter. Yes, prices are a bit higher in winter but by contrast, we offer standard hostel rates for the rest of the year and are open year around. So if you are coming to check out the Snowy Mountains in summer (great for walking, mountain biking etc), we hope to...

Great location, close to village square and the courtesy bus stop. Extremely tidy and well kept YHA. Friendly and helpful staff. Diverse range of guests from solo young backpackers to families. Great facilities. Would definitely recommend as an affordable option when staying in Thredbo.
