This guest house no longer exists. It has been bought by a NGO, and turned into a service provider. This is a sad indicator of the blatant disregard that some in the current Shoalhaven Council have for heritage tourism. Not only has this closure been encouraged, but a number of other glorious older residences have been demolished to make way... More

This guesthouse has the potential to be great, but is let down in areas that could be relatively easily fixed with a spot of renovation and plain old enthusiasm. It's an old building in a residential area with six(?) rooms within and two terraced bungalow rooms out at the back. The host, Ross, replies quickly to e-mails to confirm bookings... More

Stayed for one night and glad it was only a night Run down and overgrown gardens did nothing to repeat this place Old double bed with odd sheets no storage in room and a tiny tv Not good value for money and although it is an alternative to a motel which we don't like it did not inspire Breakfast was... This place was just what was needed to restore body and soul. It has a homely charm that is very welcoming. It is located on a quiet residential street yet all the facilities of Nowra are a short walk away and in the other direction the beauty of the Shoalhaven River awaits exploration. It is beside a bowling club and... More

The White House is an absolutely lovely heritage house, but it is tired - it needs some loving attention in places. There has been some significant investment - the bathroom in our bedroom was very new - but the carpets are rather threadbare. The host, Ross, is also tired. He's been in the business for 16 years, and is looking... More

I said in my previous review that if I stayed in Nowra again, this is where I would stay. Having now come to Nowra again, I am staying at the White House Guesthouse. Stayed in another queen room which was lovely with a beautiful ensuite. Happy to have made the decision to stay here again. Elizabeth J

The city of Nowra, located about 15 km from the coast, is the largest city in an area called shoalhaven. The approach has many industrial companies, and the traffic – the heaviest I had seen since Sydney (which was not bad at all) was flowing away from the city and heading back toward Kiama. I pulled into Nowra and checked... More

If you love heritage homes this is the place to stay. So much nicer and more room than a motel room. Our room was a very good size with a large ensuite. If we ever had another opportunity to visit Nowra, this is where we would stay.

This place is a beautiful place to rest before heading to hectic Sydney. This heritage house is located near the shops though it's closed on Sundays. the garden was well kept with pretty flowers. there is parking at the backmof the house for guests. Situated in a more quiet area, you can have a good night rest, beds were good... More
