A gorgeous water frontage farmstay self contained cottage for two, high on a hill overlooking the lovely Wagona Inlet and with views to Mt Dromedary in the South. Peaceful, tranquil and welcoming. Hear only the sounds of the birds as you relax on your private terrace and gaze at the views. Only ten minutes from both the seaside town of Narooma and the National Trust village of Central Tilba, Pub Hill is an ideal stopover on the way from Sydney to Melbourne. But plan to stay two nights at least...this area has plenty to offer and is one of the loveliest parts of the stunning NSW South Coast.
Great hospitality at a stunning location. We had a very clean, well-appointed room in lush gardens overlooking the lake in the background. Breakfast was at set times and was great fun as it allowed us to chat with the other guests and learn more about Australia while the hosts were preparing the freshest breakfast we've had in years! And all of excellent quality. You need to be a dog-lover to stay here: lots of dogs from hosts and guests alike. We regretted only staying for 2 nights as we felt it was the best place to unwind... We'll be back next time we make the trip 'Down Under'.

Just returned from another delightful stay at Pub Hill Farm. This time it was only a short stay of one and two nights en route to Melbourne via the coast road, but in the past I came for holidays with my teenage daughter and our dog. We have always loved this place! It's like coming home...except that the linen is finer, the view is better, the breakfasts are sumptuous and you get to meet interesting guests! Add to this the warm country hospitality of Micki and Ian and you have a very special place to stay on the beautiful south coast of NSW. Such quality accommodation that is also pet friendly is rare. You and your canine companion can have nearby Dalmeny Beach to yourselves-bliss! Plus, there are so many interesting places to explore around the district. Or, just stay "home" at Pub Hill and relax, surrounded by beautiful gardens.

We spent a fortnight staying at this beautifully peaceful and well located cottage in the Wagonga Inlet area of Narooma. Ian & Mickie also cater for a B&B which is located adjacent to the main house, dogs are welcome. On arrival we were provided with provisions for our first day, this included a freshly baked loaf of bread, butter, two selections of home made jam, a fruit compote to die for and bacon, eggs & tomatoes (very thoughtful). The cabin is very comfortable for a couple, with the loft area providing a king size bed & walk in robe. We would highly recommend "Karibu" Cottage for anyone seeking that perfect get away.

We are somewhat startled at the review posted by "Alan". Firstly he and his wife arrived more than one and a half hours early, despite being in possession of our printout which we send to all guests prior to their arrival. The printout clearly states arrival time is 2.30 pm and they arrived at 12.50. I said the room was not ready and they said they wanted to check in anyway. Rather foolishly, it seems, we said it was OK. The drinking water is filtered rain water and is completely potable and safe, although it does, sometimes, have some colour in it. Each room has a bottle of double filtered water in the fridge, and these guests were given extra water on request. Our printout also clearly states that we have NO credit card facilities. We accept cash, personal cheques, money orders or, prior to arrival, direct bank deposits. Guests requiring a receipt need only ask.

We stayed in the self contained cottage and although it was very charming and set in beautiful surroundings, it unfortuanatly could do with a major clean.. Almost every cooking untensil needed washing before use.. I went to brew myself a pot of tea and found tea dregs from the user before, very dissapointing for a tea lover such as myself.. there were alot of cobwebs about and the dust was pretty bad, there were bits and pieces all over the floor, ecspecially on the stairs, the kitchen sink still had soap and food stuck on it from the last people.. I hate to complain about things that seem trivial but when you are paying $175 pn i expect the place to be clean! The cottage itself was beautiful but was completely let down by the simple fact that it was not clean. I would of easily given a higher rating as I really did enjoy staying at pub hill farm and i feel it was somewhere i could return to (being dog friendly really was a strong selling point for us) but im not sure i would return now.

We are sorry that AmyLou found so much to concern her in our self contained cottage. It is always distressing to hear complaints about cleanliness and, although very rare, we do like to address them. First I must apologize that I failed to check the teapot and that tea leaves were still in it. Sometimes something slips through the net. However I cannot understand the comment about every utensil requiring washing.....all used crockery and cutlery and all utensils are cleaned and returned to the cupboards after every group of guests leaves. Likewise the comments about floors. The cottage is vacuumed after each rental and the floors are also vacuumed and washed (where not carpeted). Dust is an ever occurring problem when one lives in the bush on a dirt road and this is compounded in winter when the wood fire is burning. We like to light the fire hours before guests arrive so that the cottage is warm and welcoming. Unfortunately, as everyone who has a wood fire knows, the cost of this is dust being created . The cottage is dusted and all surfaces wiped down before each let. Some hours later you can always find SOME dust. We also insect "bomb" the cottage regularly to remove spiders, etc. If there were cobwebs to be found they had certainly not been there for a long time. We go around with a long cobweb brush on a regular basis. Some of them are very difficult to spot. Sorry about that. The kitchen sink was used to wash dishes, in hot soapy water, before the guests arrived, on this occasion. The cut flowers for the vases were then prepared in the sink so if there was anything on the sides of the sink I apologize but it would have been tiny bits and pieces from the cut flower preparation and NOT food from previous guests as stated. We value guest feedback, where constructive and thank the reviewer for those comments which were positive about our lovely cottage. We have a very high rate of return visits to Karibu which, we feel, speaks for itself. Micki and Ian Thomlinson

We stayed at karibu cottage, I picked this place as it had water frontage and from the photos the inlet looked lovely and close. We arrived on Friday, the grass was not mowed, gardens over run by weeds, no access to the water as described. Inside was that hot and stuffy it wasn't funny. The track to the cottage was washed out badly thankfully we were in a 4wd. The owners had more excuses than you would find in the dole line. End of the day I couldn't recommend this for a stay.

After a very unpleasant review in our guest book we addressed all the issues with this guest, several of which were simply NOT true. He basically accused us of false advertising is saying there was no access to the water…we have over one and a half kilometres of ABSOLUTE water frontage at Pub Hill, the best access being a ONE minute walk downhill from the cottage on a well defined path, leading to a nice grassed creek front area next to the historic wharf remains. Hundreds of our guests over the years have spent many enjoyable hours down at the creek, either fishing, walking or playing with their dogs. He also accused us of having fly screens which were in poor shape and "let in bugs". An immediate inspection of the fly screens revealed them all to be in PERFCT condition except for one which had a tiny slit where the screen had come away from the frame…it was fixed in seconds. And yes the grass above the cottage on the VERY steep bank was not mown…we had just had SIX INCHES of rain and not even our mowing contractor with special machinery could tackle it while wet and slippery. This was pointed out to the guests when they arrived, and apologised for. Some things are out of our control. We HAD managed to mow the lawn however and it was, in fact, neat and tidy. Facts, not excuses. As for the track, yes it is a short stretch of dirt track leading down to the cottage, maybe 50 metres, which has never required a four wheel drive. We go up and down on a regular basis, taking equipment, linens, etc down to the cottage in a low slung European sedan or our ute which is NOT a four wheel drive. There is NO access problem in any normal car, nor has there ever been, even when washed out by rain. We have never been in a dole queue so would not know about excuses used therein. We are always concerned when guests are not satisfied and ALWAYS address their concerns if they bring them to our attention when here, but it is difficult to address claims which are entirely false, or simply, mischievous.

10km outside Narooma, this classy bed and breakfast sits above the wagonga inlet with magnificent views, the room had everything that we wanted and more - our favourite addition was the gorgeous troupe of dogs who were gentle and friendly!. The breakfast was exceptional and set us up for our long journey ahead. I would throughly recommend if you are staying near Narooma.

Welcoming hosts and dogs. Our dog loved this place as much as we did with four legged friends to play with. After a beautiful breakfast, so difficult to say no to such an array of delicious choices, we set out walking. Can't wait to return.
