Stuck in the 1970s decor but charges like it had a reno last week. Pillows are fine if you like a hard one (unfortunately I don't). Nice and quiet though. Food was very average (soggy vegetables). We went to Acacia hotel the following night - it was cheaper and nicer and brand new (and just as quiet).

Have been using Coonabarabran & MFMI as a road trip stopover on my trips up or back to Queensland since the early 1980ies.. Back in the early 1980ies the motel would have been worthy of possibly 4*, Coonabarabran a very convenient stop over. Sadly, in my opinion, the rooms now need a full renovation to bring them up to standard,...

The place has a nautical theme which is quite cool. It was named after Matthew Flinders, a sailor who navigated by the stars, which ties in with the stargazing for which Coonabarabran is famous. The room was excellent, very comfy bed, the bathroom was a little dated but very functional. A great bench/desk to put the laptop on, there's even...

Lovely grounds and a good spot to stop on the trip from Sunshine Coast to Melbourne, Onsite restaurant had great meals and was reasonably priced. Was a busy night but the 1 waitress did a great job doing drinks, meals, cleanup. Rooms are basic but beds clean and comfortable. Staff were very helpful and delivered the included breakfast (same waitress!)...

This motel is a little tired and dated but has comfortable beds, instant hot showers, free wifi, and good tea/coffee-making facilities. We didn't find the road noise a problem. A windscreen cleaning squeegee near the office was handy to remove the bugs from the car before setting off. The walls are a little thin and the motel could do with...

During our travels we ran into a couple who chatted to us about all the places they had been in country NSW etc. The advice they gave was that 'it is what it is', this really was driven home to us when we arrived here. We survived the night, this establishment is really in need of some update and a...

Excellent motor inn. Whilst decor is dated, rooms and beds are very comfortable. We had a very friendly welcome from management. No noise from highway, so that is a plus. Great for couples, families or groups. Restaurant provided excellent food at pub prices. Steak was exceptionally good and cooked to perfection, pizzas were huge and very tasty and the chicken...

Clean and comfortable, i didnt hear any highway noise our room was towards the rear of complex. Could hear people talking outside really easily, i fell asleep fairly early though. Restaurant food/service was ok, bathrooms are a bit dated but most of these country motels are that way I've found unless recently built or renovated. Price reasonable.

En route from Brisbane to Melbourne, second day out, we had nowhere booked and thought we would have a drive around to find the nicest looking motel. This one fitted the bill perfectly and we weren't disappointed. It is to be found a short way out of town, and although alongside the highway, it lays back off the road and...
