Booked for one night via on-line booking site and we were not disappointed. Whilst the place is not overly attractive from the street, I am sure it's a work in planning. Check-in was easy and friendly and room was clean and comfortable. The bones are basic but an apparent recent refurbishment has improved them. Bathroom appears near new. Undercover parking,... More

Stayed at Ballina Colonial for two nights before Splendour in the Grass. Room was excellent and spacious, included a ceiling fan and reverse cycle air con. Lots of storage space for luggage. Bathroom has been done up and appears near new. Room was clean. Owner was lovely, said he had just taken over in the past few weeks. Room was... More

We needed a stopover on our way to the Gold Coast. Reviews said this was the best motel in Ballina. The owner was friendly and polite and the room was a decent size. However the bed was very uncomfortable and the shower was just awful. The air con did very little to warm the room - this was the middle... More

We wanted a place to stay for just one night and picked this motel because it was close to town and very reasonably priced. Its about 2 kms from the main part of town. Our room was a decent size and was equipped as we expected it to be. There were very few guests, and so we enjoyed a very... More

"Take it or leave it" was the answer from the owner when we politely asked if there was any discount off the $130 price for senior citizens or NRMA members. Same deal with the optional $10 breakfast, it's fixed at toast, a sausage, a tomato and bacon and eggs. There's no flexibility. I should say we were by no means... More

When calling to book, were quoted the $115 for two people. When arrived, was told the extra $15 to use the single bed too. Thi gs like this needs to be stated when people book. Shower head spurted water all over the place.

Thank you for your comments, but we are unsure of the issue here. You booked and paid for a Queen Bedded Room, but as the room allocated also had a Single Bed in it, you were advised by Reception that if you used it, which you did, there would be an additional $15 charge. As regards the shower, a quick... More

My stay was fantastic. I had stayed at this property over a decade ago so as just expecting a simple motel room. That's not what I found. The rooms are well kept up to date and are still spacious! The $10 breakfast is a definite recommendation. To be delivered a hot brekkie at the exact time requested is fantastic!
