We have a seasonal trailer in the area and arrived too late to even unload the car. I called the Huron Sands Hotel and they could not have been nicer. The had a last minute cancellation so we had a room right away. We knew it was older but it was clean amd cozy. Owner was nice and very accomodating.

There was a lovely lady that checked us in, she was very accommodating. The motel has new owners & they are In the midst of a major renovation. Our room was nice & clean but very rustic. We stayed 2 nights & were a little taken aback when the first day when we arrived back in the afternoon to find that our room hadn’t been made up or tidied . We didn’t expect clean sheets, but it would have been nice to have our beds made & garbage emptied, along with clean cups & glasses.

We arrived here on short notice. The room was clean and large. The staff friendly but a bit preoccupied. It seemed it was one of their first days of ownership. A very funky place with lots of potential! The Wifi nor the TV worked. You can hear the beach waves from your room. Its a short walk to good fish n chips and a large lovely sand beach.

This is literally a Ma & Pa operation, and whatever has been written about it, we just had a great stay. You will have a little chat with the owner, perhaps only if he likes you. It was a good chat! It's the kind of thing too absent from most of our lives. I paid with a VISA card, and he said, "I'll call the missus - she understands how these things work." (And she did.) The parking lot is gravel, the decor 1950s, but honestly, we wanted for nothing. There are good places in the village to eat dinner and to have breakfast - caution: no gas station - and a nice beach right downtown which the township has put some effort into presenting. This is small-town, island life. Some of the tourists there wanted exactly that. Sleep in. Take a walk, Read a novel. There is nothing to dazzle you except the lack of dazzle.

I booked 2 rooms in advance for a motorcycle trip. We arrived and met the owner who was very helpful in getting us settled. We had rode in the rain and she provided towels for our bikes and old newspapers to dry out our boots. The rooms are a good size. We had one room with 2 beds (room 3) and a single room (room 2). Both of the rooms were clean and well looked after. The beds were comfortable. There was a coffee maker and fridge in both rooms and the single room even had a small kitchen. The motel is in a great location and only 30 minutes from the ferry. We all enjoyed our stay here.
