The Hotel is in a perfect setting and the views of the sea are spectacular. The rooms are spotlessly clean and comfortable. There are beautiful coves within walking distance of the hotel. It also has its own cove just below the hotel. Well worth the short climb down and back. The staff at the hotel are very friendly and very... More

We live only a few miles along the coast but seek this peaceful place out as an excellent lunching spot for quality food and ingredients and a really special view fronted by beautiful gardens. We visit many hotels pubs and restaurants in the County and this one is right up there in our top five. We found the staff and... More

Pulling up onto the car park for a morning coffee, we were greeted by a rude man, who we assume was the owner, who told us that we could not park there unless we were residents! Will not be returning for a pint later even though it says open to non residents! Best feature is the view of the lighthouse... More

We have been walking past this hotel for last 20 years whilst walking from the Lizard to Cagwith. Finally we booked a last minute weekend away and stopped in the hotel. Boy was it worth the wait, room 22, excellent views, spotlessly clean and a lovely mix of old and modern. Daniel and Martha are a credit to the hotel,... More

We stayed as part of a birthday weekend . The hotel is lovely , it's not a chain hotel , thank goodness , it's family run business by hard working owners and managers and you can tell . Bedrooms range in price and situation , clean and functional. Food was tasty , fresh and cooked to order . A good... More

My wife and I stayed for 3 nights. Bedroom clean with comfortable bed. All the staff were pleasant and efficient. The hotel has a lift and there is just about enough room to park your car. Breakfast was up to the usual standard found in hotels these days. Although we had pre-booked a table for evening dinner, they had no... More

I have been going to the hotel ( less frequently than I would like ) for 40 years. It's a traditional 3 star hotel, the rooms and common rooms are a little dated by contemporary standards, however very adequate and clean. Over this period it is the food that has been updated. It is excellent and good value. During this... More

The location is magnificent and the lunch was spectacular. This chef is worth a visit. Lots of seafood and imaginative dishes and the dessert was wonderful. The staff were friendly and the beer was good. This is the second year we have lunched here and I'm sure we will be back.

As we sat in the restaurant looking over beautiful Housel Cove watching seals playing in the crystal clear water I knew we had picked the right hotel. Housel Bay is the most southerly hotel in Britain and certainly one I would recommend. The food is great and the staff are friendly, happy and efficient, nothing seemed too much trouble. The... Official Description (provided by the hotel)
We are situated in a spectacular location at the Lizard in Cornwall. A lovely sandy cove nestles beneath the Hotel, and the Cornish Coast Path runs through the gardens and cliff lands. A place in which to walk, to eat and drink well and to set aside the cares of the world.
