Excellent location. Stones throw from the harbour and a great base . Each room in the hotel itself has a naval theme and I stayed in the Crows Nest on the front of the pub. Bit noisy from the outside drinkers but easily remedied by closing the side sliding sash window. Very clean and very comfy. The food is Dee-lish... More

Ate here 8/7/16, steak was cooked well, however the peppercorn sauce was like dishwasher & the 'fresh field mushrooms' turned out to be half a mushroom! The steak meal was £15.95 & another £2.50 for the sauce. After getting over our sheer disbelief of the 'mushroom' we complained, they refunded the price of the sauce. Yes that was it! We... More

WOW. We visited this pub/restaurant for lunch and it is amazing! The lay out is fresh and bright and well maintained. The menu is varied and full and the service is brilliant. All the staff are lovely, however if you are lucky you will get Candice serving you - she is attentive, lovely and smiley. She really looks after the... More

After a thoroughly enjoyable visit to the St Austell Brewery with our family we all had a pre-booked overnight stay at the T'Gallants Annexe next to the Rashleigh Arms Hotel. On our arrival we were pleased to find that my husband and I had been allocated a nice spacious and spotlessly clean top floor room, newly refurbished, with en-suite facilities,... More

The Rashleigh Arms is a great place for a stop off near St. Austell, this place is welcoming and worth a high rating! Great food (and beer) and staff! Look forward to another trip in the future. A lovely village with fantastic views, a real gem on the South Cornish coast!

Don't believe the hype! We visited for lunch last week. My wife ordered fish and chips, first time it came out it was rock hard, she couldn't cut it with her knife! Sent it back. Second time it came out it was raw in the middle! Very disappointing for a so called award winning dish! The staff were very apologetic... More

Last night we visited the Rashleigh Arms , with family, the quality of two of our sarters, which was whitebait, the longest whitebait on the plate was no more then half an inch and the rest was just small bits of batter fried up, after complaining they did take it back and refund us the cost for our main meal... Rashleigh Arms - Charlestown We stayed at the Rashleigh Arms for three nights in late June to use as a base for revisiting an area we holidayed at some 30 years ago with our children. Charleston was the perfect spot and The Rashleigh Arms the perfect base, we booked a superior room in the main pub, the room was fine,... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Rashleigh Arms was built in 1851 on the foundations of old clay cellars and was given its name after the creator of Charlestown Harbour, formerly West Polmear, Charles Rashleigh. It also boasts probably one of the only Grade II listed car parks in the country, basically the site of old coal storage yards, and is situated in a World Heritage Site. The Rashleigh is ideally positioned in central Cornwall and provides an excellent jump off point for lots of great attractions with the world famous Eden Project and The Lost Gardens of Heligan within five miles radius. We are also within sight of the historic Tall Ships and Charlestown harbour, a world heritage site and an attraction in itself. The Pub has moved with times and although over 150 years old boasts eight four star gold rated rooms, a public bar, popular with the locals that shows all live sport and has great bands every fortnight. Our lounge bar is fantastic for relaxing in with large leather sofas and armchairs with a touch of historic Charlestown. The restaurant is modern, open plan and serves locally sourced food from 12 - 9pm every day; and if the weather's good our patio and garden is the ideal place to spend a few hours or more! ... more   less
