We have just left from a 2 night stay at Meadow Lakes in the Goldfinch. It was really spacious and clean. I love that the living part had a carpet which made it feel very cozy. I always worry about showers but no need as the shower was amazing! The best part of our stay was the hot tub by far. We spent every morning and every evening it in and was so relaxing. The only thing that kept it from bring a 5 was the noise of the fridge freezer kept us awake. Would definitely stay here again

Thanks so much for taking time out to comment , we are incredible proud of the new Goldfinch range and they certainly have proved incredibly popular this year. i take on board your freezer comment and will see if there is some way of sorting the issue thanks

This is a great little farm site un-spoil by big corporate 'money grabbing' companies. We had a lovely camping pitch with electricity within the bluebell field. The pitch had an amazing view of the Cornwall rolling countryside. The pitch was huge and we weren't 'crammed' what so ever, the field was a about 1 acre and had tents and huts just around the edge, that left lots of room in front of all the plots and that's nice to see. All the staff are super friendly and helpful. The site is only 5 miles from a lovely little bay/beach with a beach cafe for good food and drink. The on site fishing lakes seemed very stocked, I managed to land a few 7-9lb common carp from the big lake, 1 chap reported a 21lb common he landed. The site went very quiet as soon as the darkness fell as they don't have a club house and that's a good thing as we hate the noise from the club house on corporate sites. Thanks for a great Bank Holiday weekend. We will return next year. Good value for money.

Surprised to find the kids could only go in the pool one hour a day! This is ridiculous considering having a pool is probably the main reason for booking a holiday in a place like this! No mention of this restriction until you try to use the pool! Also, showers were varying between hot and cold in use and then finally remained cold! Not my best holiday experience! The pool restriction is enough to stop us going there again!

Many thanks for taking the time to comment Colin although for the sake of future guests i have to point out that the point you are making isn`t entirely correct .We advertise widely, online in the brochure & also in the welcome booklet you receive on arrival that we have to monitor amounts of people in the pool at any one time. This is done by booking 1 hour slots but does not mean you can only have one hour a day. We have to keep the pool safe and fair for everyone to use and during August this can be hundreds & hundreds of people. Likewise with the shower im afraid they replenish as soon as physically possible .We are sorry it spoilt your stay though .

My husband and I returned from a 2 week holiday at Meadow Lakes a week ago. It is the second time we’ve stayed here, unfortunately it will be our last. The positives are that it is close to supermarkets and a good base to get around Cornwall. The fishing lakes are free to fish and dogs are allowed around them. Their is a small shop on site and a cafe/ takeaway (we didn’t use this so can’t comment). I did use the launderette however there was only one working dryer and only cold washes because the boiler was not working. The dryer I did use was very efficient but I had to wait for it to be free. My main reason for not wanting to return is due to the toilet and shower blocks. They were below an acceptable level of cleanliness. Often toilets were blocked (a note went up on our last day asking for sanitary products not to go in the toilet and if the toilets were not clean to report them). I believe part of the problem was due to unsupervised children using and playing in them. Also the drains in the showers couldn’t cope with the volume of people using them. I did report this to reception after one evening when I’d used them, this did not seem to be remedied. There was a lot of unsupervised children on the site which is not a problem if they behave well but an unsupervised child went to kick my dog for no reason at all. I appreciate that some of the things are beyond the sites control however for those reasons I will not be booking again.

Hi Helen and thanks for your remarks. We do pride ourselves at Meadow Lakes on the huge areas of safe and open spaces for children to play and just be children but do take your point on board that some can abuse the situation and get bored . i have to say we have had almost entirely positive remarks about the facilities this year so your remarks are disappointing it has to be said though that everything takes a knock during August as it all works to capacity. Thankyou for your time .
