We spent a couple of days here the hotel was lovely and grounds were great but one of the best things was the staff. Two members of staff deserve a mention Marie on Reception who when we had a small problem with our room could not do enough for us all with a friendly and professional manner. The 2nd is the porter called Brett who whenever we met him in the hotel was able to offer us great advice on where to visit it locally. We often comment on the bad and fail to highlight the good. These two members of staff were a great advert for the hotel.

This is my second stay here. The first time I stayed in the hotel with my partner and the hotel room was great, good views, clean room etc. I decided given my experience then was good to try out one of the lodges on my recent short visit. I only stayed for 2 nights. But it was more than long enough which is a shame given my previous experience.. The lodge was dirty, floors, walls, sanitary ware all in need of a good clean! And as we walked up to the lodge we noticed so many cob webs, dirt, generally a ‘left to rot’ feeling when we walked up to the door. The lodge is also very tired inside, needs a lick of paint and some decor improvements, views are pointless, they are so cramped together all you see if your neighbouring holidaymakers in their lodges, lack of curtains means everyone can see in every lodge! Parking was also silly. Badly labelled parking spaces meant for arguments in the car parks between holiday makers of who should park where, each day we saw people having spats over parking, all very childish but could’ve been avoided if the hotel just left it as an open car park. Food at restaurant was ok. Bit flavourless on some dishes but ok, the service was slow and a bit grumpy. Reception staff would rather pretend you aren’t there than help you with any question you have. Since the last time I was here they have opened the tea room. Which seems to be where all the effort is applied, and locally they seem to have become quite known for this as been a great experience. Unfortunate that seems to have come at a cost to the service and cleanliness of the accommodation. All in all a pretty disappointing stay, I will look elsewhere in future.

Lovely hotel set spacious grounds. We took our bikes and were able to access the trail easily. We ended up in meginissey. We also went on coastal walk to Charlestown. Breakfast and dinner were delicious. The wine was also delicious. The staff were attentive and friendly. Our room was quiet and the bed was comfortable. The pool area was quiet during our visit. We had a relaxing stay at the Cornwall hotel😊

We arrived Friday for a family celebration and are staying in a 3 bedroom lodge. On arrival the downstairs looked dirty - obviously people had been in and out before our arrival and dead grass etc had been carried in. Not the best first impression. The wall up the stairs looked scruffy and because we had arrived before the birthday girl to make everything special, my first task was to hoover and wash the marks off the wall and then it was fine. The rest of the lodge was great apart from the mould above the family shower! The grounds are lovely and the spa and garden. We booked the restaurant for Saturday evening, early because we had grandchildren with us. I had emailed ahead of our visit to ensure everything was ok and had mentioned we were celebrating a birthday. Tbe service was so slow. The food poor. We all ordered different dishes and we all said how dry tbey were and for the prices very small portions. No one asked during the meal if everything was fine. Because the service was so slow, we booked for 6.15 and left at 8.15 the children were so tired we didn't stay for dessert. We should have complained but again didn't want to spoil a special occasion. I also thought someone might have said happy birthday or made some gesture to acknowledge the birthday. Would we stay here again - no. Would we recommend the restaurant, no. I have worked in customer service/hospitality for many years and would suggest a lesson in customer service is needed.
