Fran was very welcoming, our room (Lighthouse) had everything we needed and it was clear that Fran had given lots of attention to detail, e.g. a little black tower for makeup (great idea!) washing up liquid & dishcloth, tea, coffee, fresh milk every day in a flask, slippers etc. Fran gave us suggestions about the area and was always available if needed. The breakfasts were wonderful, a great selection, you could taste the freshness and they were very generous and delivered to our room so attractively in a basket. The bathroom is a bit small but very tastefully designed and with a good shower with plenty of hot water. The cottage is very central, there is parking a short walk away and the harbour is only a few steps from the front door which was just great. We had a lovely time there.

Property's Favorite Review
Wonderful sums up perfectly this beautiful B&B and its host Fran. From the moment I first booked to the time we arrived and all through our stay Fran was just the best, nothing was too much trouble and any requests such as fresh towels etc were readily given. Stone's Throw Cottage was perfectly positioned within the village and was only a minute away from the various Bar's, Restaurants and the lovely Harbour. Our room was fresh, well decorated, spotlessly clean and well equipped with everything we needed. Even with the current Covid regulations Fran made sure that we were very well looked after. Breakfast was served in our room but it was amazing and the choice was excellent from fresh baguettes to fruit and Muesli. I cannot recommend this beautiful B&B enough and would definitely have no hesitation in staying again. Thank you Fran

Fran is the most accommodating and friendly host. Nothing too much trouble. Room and shower very clean and well equipped with good quality items. Bed very comfortable and the breakfasts are amazing. You decide, from a tick sheet, what you would like the following morning from warm stuffed baguette to different cereals and toast/marmalade/jam, choc au pain, different juices and teas or coffee, loads of choice. This is delivered in a basket at the time you specify and left outside the door. The cottage is a beautiful quaint stone Cornish dwelling, in the main village with a view of the lighthouse. Parking is a 3/4 min walk where you can purchase a ticket for the length of your stay. Would highly recommend and plan to return.

What a wonderful find Stones Throw Cottage was from the start the host Fran was so wonderfully helpful from the first time that we spoke, we were changing over from a weeks stay at a self catering holiday and would need to leave our luggage early and Fran said we could leave it with her no problem. Everything was wonderful during our stay all the little extras supplied made our stay perfection and our host could not have done anymore to make us feel more welcome.

The cottage is in central Mevagissy but Fran ensures reduced charges for parking and it is easy to trundle a case from the car park to the house. The stairs are steep - particularly the second flight - but the room has literally everything you could think of and the bed was so comfy I slept brilliantly every night. A continental breakfast usually means ‘cold’ but this one could include all sorts of hot things in baps- although the overnight oats, fruit and yoghurt was my favourite! And Fran even did it for me in a takeaway box to take on my hike - she’s the nicest b&b host I’ve ever met.
