Once parked in the village car park (liable to flood at high tide - so check your tide tables), I entered the pub to check in, the staff were lovely and friendly, it serves a good selection of beers, ciders, wine etc but I found my room very basic and on the hottest day of the year, the window stay... We visit nearby Polruan on a regular basis. We always have a drive to Lerryn. A lovely walk by the river and then our evening meal in The Ship Inn. Great welcome and lovely food at affordable prices. A good standard menu with a specials board. We are all vegetarian and we always find good choices.

Brown tourist sign on A 390 to the Ship Inn. Beautiful village & good parking. Can we eat? "yes, take a seat". On asking for a menu we were told that they weren't sure what food was available - had been busy lunchtime. "it will be a long time as 4 people already ordered" We were prepared to wait. mentioned... This pub is well known and the only one in the immediate area.Lerryn is a lovely village on the river visited by many people, which is perhaps why the pub is somewhat shabby and tired looking. The night we visited was busy and the staff appeared overwhelmed and offhand. We ordered The lemon sole which was delicious cooked to perfection .The... More

Visited here for a catch up with our good friend who has moved to the village. It's a lovely local with good beers and friendly folk. We didn't eat but the pub is a great meeting place and the meals looked to be going down well. Next time we will try to have a meal as well.

If you want a laid back atmosphere , good food, and a traditional village pub, I would recommend the ship inn. With its local characters, stunning surroundings, local shop, lerryn is definitely worth a visit.

First and only person to to order food 6pm Monday evening, 1 cod & chips £9.95...took 25 minutes to arrive! Good job they didn't have anything else to cook else it would have taken even longer! Two very small pieces of cod instead of one large arrived, the batter tasted awful and the chips tasted like they had been refried,... More

We stayed one night to celebrate my birthday and had a brilliant time. A proper Cornish pub with a great atmosphere, many regulars in the bar, even on a Monday night. From start to finish, we felt very welcome and at home (the dog too!). Mackerel dinner was fresh, simple and beautifully cooked. We ate in the garden, whilst enjoying... More

After a long walk with a friend we decided to have a drink at the Ship Inn which was at the end of our walk, It was a hot day and the village was very busy with locals and tourists so we were surprised we were the only 2 people on the premises. I ordered a half of beer and... More

Such a lovely location. However such very tired and uncared for accommodation. Corridor to rooms in definite need of a vacuum and stained walls that badly need painting. Our room was (I can't even think of the best word to describe it nicely) shocking. As we were let into our room the bathroom stank. On inspection the lavatory left a... More
