Detailed Reviews
Whilst we usually book hotels, The Mandeley looked to be a better option as hotel choice in the little market town is limited to a Premier Inn and not much else.
Upon arrival we were not disappointed, the hosts welcomed us as if we were family and showed us to our very well appointed twin room. The beds were extremely comfortable with a good quality of linen to match.
The very bathroom bathroom was very well equipped with everything you need.
The whole place was pristine and a pleasure to stay in.
Breakfasts were exceptional, featuring usual 'full English', etc., along with soft fresh berry fruits, homemade bread, locally produced butter, jams and honey.
In short, everything is premium.
An interesting feature for this guest-house is that as well as a guest breakfast room there is a very comfortable guest lounge which is available at all times.
The owner's quarters are locked separate to guests rooms, though in the same building, meaning that we visitors don't feel that we are imposing on those whose home it is.
There is ample onsite parking for all guests and the b and b is only a short stroll from the town centre.
We were so pleased with our stay and cannot recommend it enough and can't wait to go back.
Our hosts, Birgit and Paul were exceptional hosts.
Thank you Mandeley!

As part of our stay in Cornwall we had the pleasure of staying at The Mandeley Guest House in Helston This is a beautiful place with rooms named after the Daphne Du Maurier novel Rebecca.
The guest area had 3 rooms with their own entrance. Our room was very well appointed with tea/coffee facilities and biscuits. We even had luxury dressing gowns. There was also a separate lounge room specifically for the guests to use. There is a separate breakfast room for the guests just a few yards from the 3 rooms. As only 6 of us at any given time, we were able to share a large table together. The breakfast was very good with an array of fresh fruit, cereal, and yogurts together with a full English breakfast. Our hosts Paul & Birgitt were accommodating and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. We would highly recommend this guest house and would book it again on our next visit to Helston.

Stayed here for 3 days June 2021 it is in a ideal place for exploring from Porthleven to Penzance It's handy to walk into the town centre of Helston which has numerous shops and bars the Wetherspoons is one of the best I have been in with a lovely rooftop garden.
Accommodation was exceptionally clean and the owner Birgitt cannot do enough for you the cooked breakfast was good also available were a wide variety of continental breakfast choices as well. The bedroom is well equipped with an en-suite bathroom
The prices for the accommodation are very reasonable considering most of Cornwall has doubled its prices during the pandemic. I would fully recommend the Mandeley guest house and would definatly stay there again

We had a lovely week in Cornwall and stayed at the Mandeley guest house in one of their 3 rooms:
The host was absolutely brilliant, the room really comfortable and spotlessly clean, breakfast was cooked to order with a really great choice -obviously best quality ingredients and so nicely presented. Nothing is too much trouble for the hosts to make your stay the best.
We couldn’t have asked for a better location, just a couple of minutes drive to the lovely Porthleven where there are some fantastic restaurants, and if it’s dramatic coast lines and beautiful beaches this is the place to go, and when we return we will stay at the Mandeley guest house again and recommend it to friends and family.

Amazing host and overall great place to stay. Rooms are new and spotless. I’ve loved the small details and how everything is thought over with care by the hosts: beach towel, bath robe, bottle opener, automatic night light, hair dryer, etc. The quality of bedding and towels is superb. Free tea/coffee, water and cookies in the room. The breakfasts were delicious! Great coffee, tasty full English, as well as fruit, yogurts, pastries, and cereal. Couldn’t wish for more. Great price/quality value, can only say good things about this place. Would highly recommend!

What a friendly guest house! Brigit and Paul made us so welcome, and the breakfast was excellent - wonderful choice of fresh fruit, including strawberries! We stayed for 2 nights and were very comfortable Although the bathroom in Rebecca is a bit small, it was immaculately fitted and the towels were soft and perfumed - never experienced that before! The location is good for many National Trust gardens and restaurants. We look forward to visiting again, as we have nieces in Helston.

There is a warm welcome at Mandeley. All three rooms are well decorated and comfortable. Easily accessible, as the rooms are on the ground floor. The breakfast room is up three steps. Whilst we were there there was a disabled lady who managed them with a little difficulty.
The breakfast offers a good selection of fruit, yoghurt and cereals as well as cooked Full English. The bread is home made. Fresh milk is provided daily for your room.
The shower offers a good amount of power.
Exiting the property is a little tricky. We have an Auris and there was little room, either side, to get through.

What a fabulous guest house. We stayed for 6 nights, our room was spotless as was the en-suite.Tea and coffee making facilities with fresh milk. Birgitt and Paul, our hosts, were very welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed. Breakfast was excellent, including fresh fruit, homemade granola, Greek Yogurt plus a full English or variations of, all cooked to order. As there are a maximum of six guests at anyone time breakfast is served around one central table, it was lovely to chat to the other guests. The three double rooms have their own entrance and there is also plenty of parking. The guest house is about 10 minutes walk from the main town and Helston is a good central place to explore Cornwall from. We would definitely stay here again.

Arrived at the guest house and were met by Birgitt who showed us the side entrance to which we had our own key so we could come and go as we pleased. The rooms were well presented and very clean. There are 3 rooms all named after Daphne du Mauriers novels. We were in the Jamaica Inn room. The bed was huge and the pillows were wonderful. There was a kettle with tea, coffee and hot chocolate. Fresh milk was supplied every day and also fresh water.
Breakfast was in 3 sittings, 7.30, 8.30 and 9.30.
You are given a menu everyday which you leave on a little table near the dining room which also had a bell in case you needed anything. Breakfast consisted of orange juice, tea, coffee, full English, cereals, fruit, yogurt and salmon with scrambled egg. The toast was made with homemade granary bread.
It was all excellent and have no negatives at all and would definitely recommend this place.
Thank you for a wonderful stay

We stayed for four nights and would have been happy to stay for much longer. The host were warm and very welcoming and the house was spotless. Breakfast was served in a comfortable dining room and all food was cooked to order, so arrived at the table piping hot, and there were plenty of alternatives to the "full English" on offer, including home made breads. We didn't use the guest lounge, but it looked very cosy and inviting. Our room was very comfortable, with tea and coffee making facilities - and fresh milk. The bathroom was modern, and like the rest of the house, spotless. We felt very much at home during our stay and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to others. There is plenty of parking for guests and the house is only a short walk from Helston town centre. The house is conveniently placed for exploring Cornwall and offers a quiet, comfortable place to relax.

I don’t think so as they only serve breakfast but I think they would be happy to keep any beer/wine you have chilled for you. There’s a big Tesco right across the road too.
