We come to Gorran Haven a lot and had eaten here about 2 years ago in the bistro with nice bistro food. This time we booked for a half term family treat. To our disappointment we were in the restaurant which is really odd- brightly lit with awful piped music. The waiting staff were very nice and attentive but waits were really long for food despite the fact that we were the only people in there for some of the time. The food, when it came, was inedible. Venison had been cooked so long that you could barely cut it and was accompanied by huge undercooked unseasoned potatoes. On top was some tender stem broccoli that had been cooked so long that it was grey and flabby. The burgers sounded great on the menu but came with none of the advertised cheese or toppings- just an over cooked cremated burger with a piece of lettuce on a dry roll. I am not sure whether the usual chef was on holiday but there is no way I would have served food like that at home, let alone to people who were paying a large amount. We didn’t complain as it would have upset the kids and ruined the evening but whoever owns this restaurant really needs to have a look at what the chef is serving. We will definitely never come here again.

We experienced a lovely Mother & Daughter overnight stay at this outstanding hotel. Reception very efficient. Beautiful clean, modern decor suite with super sea view with balcony. Very comfortable bed. Peaceful location walking distance down to the beach of Gorran Haven. Our dinner service was fabulous and exceeded our expectations. Super polite and efficient service from the lovely waitresses, chefs & bar staff throughout our evening. Relaxed in the bar area after dinner, we were truly well looked after. Breakfast experience also first class, delicious and wonderful selection of fruit, pastries, hot breakfasts (highly recommend Full English and Eggs Benedict). I would highly recommend this hotel if you are looking for a special place to stay so thank you to the Manager Craig and his efficient team of staff for a fantastic experience. We will definitely be re - booking in the near future, can't wait to visit again.

Booked to eat in bar as holidaying with our dog. Service was friendly and attentive, food delicious, portions are huge! The bar lacks atmosphere and character, get rid of the bright lighting and disco balls please.

Had a really lovely stay at this friendly laid back hotel. The staff were very pleasant and engaged well with us in conversation. We had a wonderful large room with dual aspect and super, very clean bathroom. Tea and coffee and biscuits and complimentary Cornish fudge- yummy.

We had a fantastic welcome at the hotel by the receptionist and she fortunately had a little time to show my wife and I the excellent bar, lounge and breakfast room. The room we had was spacious and well decorated. We were delighted with the accommodation provided. We enjoyed a drink in the friendly bar area and then both of us had an excellent meal. After sleeping very well we then had a great breakfast before enjoying the brief stroll to Gorran Haven Beach. We were both delighted with our one night stay at the Llawnroc.

General A group of walk-ins with children, not controlled and allowed to run in and out of the hotel, screaming, shouting, throwing seat cushions on the floor of residents lounge, this took place over 4 hours, until at my insistence, staff spoke to the parents to control their children. Thankfully they did not enter the restaurant, but staff if they had closed the restaurant entrance fire door as per the displayed sign, propped open with a metal sign, would have greatly reduced the noise. No one appeared to be in charge of the hotel. Room Towel rail not working, wet and damp towels were not replaced with dry supplies. The shower glass panel leaked water all over the bathroom floor, due to a split bottom seal. No book about the hotel, its services and contact info available. Restaurant Rib eye steak ordered with no peppercorn sauce, covered with peppercorns. It took ages before the staff understood that I asked for ice in my drinks. If this appeals to you, then by all means stay at this hotel. For those who regularly stay at hotels, this is one to avoid.

Pre-booked Sunday lunch and was looking forward to it as there is not much else in Gorran Haven for lunch. We was told when we arrived that there was no pork on the menu which is not a problem. We sat down and ordered wine when we was then told there was no beef and all they could offer was chicken or nut roast which to be honest was a no no. We decided to leave the restaurant and was really surprised by the lack of explanation as the manager appeared to hide away from the issues and left a really in experienced young girl to tell us. Can’t understand a restaurant running out of the roasts especially as we had pre-booked.

My family and I have just enjoyed a really delicious lunch at the hotel…..the service and food were spot on. Craig and his staff made us all feel welcome and were attentive and kind. Without a doubt, one of the, if not THE best sticky toffee pudding that we have ever had. Can’t wait to go back….reasonably priced, lovely setting….super place to spend a lazy Sunday, thanks Craig…..you made our little boy’s day that bit more special.

We visited for a evening meal, table booked 18:30. Waitresses very young school girls. Whilst they were extremely pleasant ,polite & courteous they sadly lacked training & direction. We sat for 45 minutes waiting for our dinner plates to be cleared. They eventually were cleared after we went out to the bar to ask for dessert menus. When we went out to the bar each time the waitresses were all huddled behind it talking. There was no supervision what so ever, other tables had very long waits also. We finally left at 21.30 (we only had 2 courses in that time) Lovely décor, lovely food, everything was in place for it to be perfect.......Please train your lovely waitresses they deserve better than this.
