A friendly and relaxing hotel and a great breakfast. I will stay here when I next visit the area. I arrived late and I was shown to my room by the host even though it was late and he had had a long day. We chatted for ages.

The Countryman would have got 5 stars but for one big and one small problem. The fact that the hotel is a bit threadbare mattered little to us, the fact that we couldn't make our selves a hot drink on arrival does (small problem), the fact we couldn't shower on arrival and in the morning was calamitous! I stayed in this hotel one night. The staff was very welcoming and helpful. However, in the main entrance the carpet smell very bad. Fortunately, the carpet in the room didn't smell, but it looked very old. The breakfast was very good-fresh ingredients and very well cooked. Will be staying again if they change the carpet!

The rooms are very clean and there is no funny smell. I had a single room with shared bathroom which was very clean as well. Rick is extremely friendly and...
