We originally we’re going in May, but due to covid19, changed to June. This was done easily with the help of the staff on the phone, but there website is easy to follow to book a stay. About a week before they sent a link to confirm everything and how they we’re dealing with the virus. Plus also warning about the G7 summit, which was useful. We we’re welcomed on Monday and everything was easily explained. We had a room over the river and could regularly see and definitely here the ducks The bathroom surprised me how big it was and the hot water was hot. Good shower. Breakfast is booked on line which we both liked, I think it makes it easier for the staff. I would actually recommend keeping it. The service was excellent by the staff. All very helpful. The car park is just up the road and is free between 5pm and 10am. Looking forward going back later in the year.

From the moment we walked through the door after a long hike, we had the friendliest, most welcoming service from the staff at The Riverside. They had already accommodated a change in our dinner booking because we were late arriving and the room they gave us was overlooking the river. The sound of it rushing past all night was pure bliss. I’d definitely come back for another stay. The food was the best on our trip, too.

The Sunday lunch delivered on time and with a happy smile, was delicious. Plenty of vegetables and meat, also gravy. Pudding was perfect. I would recommend this lunch for every Sunday, very filling and only a plate and knife and fork to wash up 👍👍

We stopped for lunch on our short break and were not disappointed. The menu is very good and the staff were professional, welcoming and knowledgeable. The view over the river is delightful. We liked the fact that they serve buttery biscuits in 2s, 4s or 6s - just right for a quick stop and one which we will bear in mind if we return to the area. The lunches were very good - lovely filled rolls and amazing foccacia served with the soup. Really highly recommended.

After a nice day’s walk, out to the coastguard observatory point we stopped on the way for a bite to eat and found this great place, The Riverside. The menu choices were good, the staff fabulous. Really professional and so helpful. The ambiance was good, really clean and cared for. Can’t wait to go back to Boscastle, as we know there is an outstanding place to eat after a great day’s walking
