A really nice evening from start to finish. Service and food were both excellent. The complimentary breads and sorbets were a nice touch. We had fillet steak and lamb and both were cooked to perfection. A particular thank you to the waitress who served us she was a credit to the hotel.

Stayed at this lovely hotel for a overnight stop following a business trip and to spend some time in beautiful Boscastle. The hotel is wonderfully comfortable and has a fantastic menu. The staff cannot do enough for you and are super friendly, plus they put their hand to all areas reception, bar, food service. If your visiting Boscastle please try... More

Having looked forward to celebrating our wedding anniversary here, we were really disappointed with this hotel. On arrival, we had difficulty trying to find a parking space. There is a large but pricey car park further up the road, but when you have bags to carry, you don't want to be traipsing up and down the village on top of... More

I took a few days off to recharge the batteries in Boscastle. I chose the Wellington because I had stayed there many times before (the last time over Christmas 2015 - but that's a whole other review). This time I was on my own and wondered what to expect (some hotels will put single travellers in small pokey rooms next... More

The staff dash hither and thither like something from Fantasia as they are pulling pints one minute and popping up in the restaurant on their way to mend a radiator. They are all brilliant. The Management shouldn't have the place so thinly staffed as they will all run out of steam. There is at least one bathroom that is so... More

Thank you for your comments and, as with previous reviews, it is lovely to see our staff receiving recognition and thanks for their hard work. I would like to re-assure you that we always aim for a full compliment of staff. With the huge seasonal variation in visitor numbers to Cornwall, it is not always easy to scale staffing levels... Thanks for your review and we always look carefully at all feedback to see how we can improve. I am sorry about the confusion over your dinner reservation and that this clearly affected your stay with us. Unfortunately, the stairs have been there for over 200 years and there is little that we can do in a lovely old Grade... More

On my way to Newquay from Cheshire decided to break the journey and have one night b&b at the Wellington Hotel. An excellent choice, the staff were cheerful and welcoming and the food and accommodation was first class. Will now make this a regular port of call when heading to Cornwall.

Visited this hotel on a couple of recommendations. The food was fantastic - we shared the scallops to start and wish we'd had our own. The main courses were equally delicious. Everything was fresh (and the specials ran out quickly so glad we were there early. Booking advisable, especially for those with dogs so you can eat in the bar... More

Hi, A large group of us stayed at the Wellington Hotel in March 2016 and enjoyed our stay. The manager (a man) was terrific! We had a million requests and he answered each and every one promptly and with such courtesy! The entire staff was polite, engaging, and offered excellent customer service. They were booked full and still gave us... More
