Close to everything and in a nice area. Very clean and well maintained. Walking distance to many shops. We did not have the breakfast as it was Sunday and we were slow moving. We will definitely chose first on our next trip.

Hotel's Favorite
We travel to this area at least once per year. We always stay at Travelers Rest if they have a room available. We are greeted as a VIP. The staff are all every friendly and helpful. The rooms are always clean. The Amish donuts at breakfast are the best anywhere. We enjoy sitting out front and watch the buggies go by, or sitting out back around a fire (surrounded by corn fields). We like to take a short walk to the village or sometimes we are lucky enough to watch a softball game at the local field near the motel.

This property and the staff are excellent. We highly recommend Travelers Rest Motel to family and friends. We have visiting this area for many years and always stay at this property. There was not one time in all of those visits that we were unhappy.

We travel to the area 2-3x a year and usually stay in a much more expensive hotel down the street. Upon the recommendation of a friend, we tried this place. We liked the price but there were so many things we weren't wild about. This is not a quiet location. We wanted to sit peacefully out on the lawn to read but the firehouse is across the street and there are many loud trucks and vehicles which frequent Route 340, the road where this motel sits. The 2nd night we were there, there was a group of young men drinking in the parking lot, talking very loudly until well after dark. So again, not a " quiet" place. The breakfast was Ok but there is no meat or eggs. Mostly cereals and oatmeals with some donuts and a waffle iron. Like all "motor court" type hotels, we kept our curtains pulled for privacy but then the room was very dark. The beds were a bit soft (but not horrible). The room with the two beds had doubles, and the beds seemed very very small. The TV was a bit small and the picture not so clear.The worst thing was that the carpets were filthy. After the first day we noticed our white socks and bare feet were BLACK after just a few times crossing the floor from to the bed to the bathroom. We even were looking forward to walking down to Kitchen Kettle Village and the Intercourse area but it's a pretty good long walk on a narrow sidewalk beside a busy, loud road. Very clean. Very quiet. Staff was very friendly at check in. Was surprised no iron in room. Deluxe breakfast was very, very disappointing. Very hot water and amazing water pressure in shower. Room has mini fridge and microwave.

I was looking for a place to stay for Memorial Day weekend that wouldn't break the bank. I was glad to have found this motel. It is in the perfection location too. Close to all the shops and restaurants. The rooms were very clean and the staff was friendly. Be sure to partake in the continental breakfast.

I have never been in a motel/hotel that was so spotless. There was no grunge anywhere in the room. The bathroom was super clean and the room was just as clean. The staff is responsive and answered any question I had. The weather was spectacular and with the motel being centrally located, we were able to visit many shops—including lots of quilt stores. Very relaxing getaway with no worries.

This is a nice place close to a number of local attractions. The bus tour the next day adds value but be aware that it is at the Bird-in-Hand location so you have to drive to it. There is a nice gazebo and other seating on the front lawn.
